Stayed for one night in a family room. Nice big room, separate bathroom and separate room with bunk beds. Comfy bed. Tea and coffee in room. Had a decent evening meal in the pub. Would definitely stay again. Had asked for an electric fan in the room and one was provided.

Stayed for one night last week, the room was small but clean, although the bathroom was a little tired looking, not least the toilet seat being loose. But the bed was by far the worst we have ever come across the springs had totally gone & we were hardly able to sleep as a result. The cooked breakfast was really...

We booked an overnight stay at this Country Inn and were not disappointed, we received a warm welcome and a cosy room. Everything was comfortable and clean and nothing was too much trouble for the manager/owner. We stayed for Sunday lunch and were impressed by the swift service and tasty food. Breakfast was a delight . Although some of the...

I stayed here with my partner in their most expensive room, a 4 poster at £70 for the night without breakfast. The room looked OK, however on looking closer the 4 poster was very dusty and in need of a de-cobweb! Everything was just a little dusty, which was a shame. The shower and bathroom were OK, room very small...

Stayed at the Duke of Wellington during a stopover in Matlock. We were staying in the lovely barns out the back of the pub - part of the old pig farm we were told! Luckily the room resembled nothing of its former use and was a lovely airy room. The only slight downside was that the bathroom was really very...

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay as our room was clean and quietly located in the 'stables' at the rear of the main building. The location was perfect for a visit to the Peak District and surrounding villages. The staff were very friendly and we were greeted nicely when we arrived and shown to our room. We didn't have...

Stayed for 3 nights in a twin room with a friend (not including brekkie - recommend the Black Cat Cafe in Matlock for that). Our room was lovely - small and neat on the ground floor in what looked like the old stables/barn. The only criticism is that the bathroom lino was mouldy and the cobwebs could do with being...

We stayed at the Duke for 3 nights to explore the Peak District. This is a traditional wooden-beamed country pub serving good food, ale and a lively atmosphere. We ate continental breakfast which was plentiful, the cooked breakfast had everything required to call it a Full English. The evening fare was inexpensive with good offers. The accommodation is in converted outbuildings,a few steps away from the...

We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed it here very much. Matlock and the surrounding areas have much to offer in terms of things to do and places of interest to visit whether you are with children or not. It was also beneficial to us to stay in "The Duke" which provided good quiet accommodation, with good food. The pub...

Very warm welcome, where nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The breakfast was very hearty, and set us up for the day. The room was clean and comfortable. Very quiet considering how close it was to the pub. Only minor grip was that the wifi did not connect to the detached outbuildings where the accommodation was, but like...
