Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The B&B is in a perfect central location and the host is extremely welcoming and helpful. The room and en-suite were clean and spacious with everything to hand that you could possibly need . Breakfast was excellent and perfectly cooked. Would stay here again when next in the area.

Matlock is my adopted home town having been a student here 40 plus years ago. My wife and I wanted a first visit back and Premier Inn/Travelodge were very expensive. We came across Cedar House from Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. A friendly greeting from the owner greeted us. The bedroom with en-suite was big and bright and airy. All very clean. Breakfast both mornings was delicious. Would thoroughly recommend!😎

we stayed at the cedar house for three nights and we weren't disappointed the host was a lovely lady and she went out of her way to make sure that we enjoyed our stay, most of the sites are not far away to visit the rooms were clean and tidy, the breakfast has a lot of choice and it was always nicely cooked. the cedar house is situated in a nice part of matlock and you are not far away from any of the shops and bars, most of the tourist attractions and sites are not far away from the cedar house to visit, there is also a nice park next to it to have a walk around, matlock is a lovely place to visit

Nice homely B&B, quite impressively appeared to run single handedly by the owner. That isn't a criticism but the dear lady seemed to be everywhere and couldn't do enough. So if you want a slick corporate look, with an all evening bar, parking for 30 cars, plus a concierge - then this probably isn't for you. However, if you want to be treated as you'd expect be treated by your favourite grandmother, then come here. Seconds walk from town and eating places or cross the river for nice country walks. Superb full English breakfast of your choice, and spotless rooms, with large screen TV and WiFi. We opted for a room with a little balcony, so we had additional space. We would definitely go back again.

This is the third time at cedar house, we love it here, a lovely warm welcome from the owner, the house is spotless, cosy and warm we had room 4 on the front, super comfy bed, large TV, sofa to relax on. Breakfast for me is perfect, always have egg Benedict, which is my favourite when we stay. Close to all restaurants and Matlock itself is just a couple of minutes walk. Thank you cedar house for another relaxing break, see you in October 😃
