We were lucky enough to be invited to a wedding being hosted by this hotel, so we made a bit of a break of it and stayed for 3 nights. The day we arrived we moved in to our self-catering flat, which was very nicely laid out, well equipped and furnished and spacious. The car park is a bit of a walk from the accomodation blocks but you are allowed to park up and unload before moving your car. Meals are available in the country club and we did eat there on 3 occasions. The food was good and reasonably priced although we thought that drinks were a bit expensive. If you are self catering remember to bring what you need for your stay because there's no on site shop. The pool and spa were amazing, and as staying guests we took advantage of our complimentary access to the facilities. We didn't use the gym of play golf, but other wedding guests did and we heard that these facilities were also very good. Children are very well catered for. The wedding itself was very well organised and everybody had a fabulous time (even if the band was a bit loud)! The flat seemed to be poorly heated and we felt quite cold during the night otherwise I would have given full marks for this establishment.

We found the Club after our cottage holidays were cancelled. We were not sure as it was in the ( initially) wrong location and not the experience we were looking for. How wrong were we!
This is a beautiful, clean and charming place with lots to do even in the time of pandemic. The rooms look updated with lovely decor and nice soaps. The location is fantastic with the river Tamar at every angle. The restaurants are a bit basic and the food is the weakest point but the staff makes up for it with their attitude.
The swimming pool with the slide made our children’s holidays! We all loved it!
I had a spa treatment which was amazing and relaxing and with 25% off! Shame about the Aqua Spa being closed due to covid but it’s a reason to visit again!
We had a busy schedule travelling to st Michaels Mount, Minack Theatre, Tintagel and Eden Project - due to the location it took us a bit longer to get there than planned but coming back to China Fleet was always a bonus.
We tried the Woodland Adventure golf, driving range and the fairy walk - all fantastic.
On the last day we tried the Adrenalin Quarry which is really near.
All in all - the change of plans turned out to be the best that could happen and we all loved staying at China Fleet Country Club.
Honestly, can’t fault it including hand sanitizers everywhere, masks and social distancing.

Golf trip with some friends, lovely parkland setting at the end of a long drive with great views over the nearby estuary. Friendly welcome from everyone and great golf facilities, spa and health club/gym looked good too but didn’t try these. Apartments are nice and well equipped, did find the bedrooms small though, and single beds are the 2’6 variety and can be a little cramped if you are taller (or wider!) than average. Dinner was nice but on the package we booked choice was a little limited, 3 options, and I wasn’t made aware of any upgrade dining offer if one was available. Drinks reasonably priced and breakfast excellent. All enjoyed ourselves overall but just those couple of slight issues so hence the 4/5.

Booked this last minute as just fancied a night away in a hotel with spa. We booked one of the "luxury lodges". Driving up to the hotel past the golf course is very nice with lovely grounds. But as others have said, as you walk closer and closer to the entrance it does resemble a leisure centre.
We arrived to be told that the room we booked was not available as the hotel was full, and they had put us in a disabled room. Bearing in mind the hotel had my telephone number from the booking why didnt anyone call me to ask if this was acceptable rather than just assume it was? We declined the room as we wanted a room with a bath tub. The receptionist seemed put out and we felt as if we were an inconvenience .
We were then told we would be put in a room that was having work done and we would be woken early by the workmen. No time was given when this work would take place. We mentioned we would rather leave and go home. The receptionist then said she would ensure there was no noise in the morning as she was working the next day. So we took the risk. While the receptionist was not rude in any way, the whole experience felt very cold and unwelcoming.
The room as it happened was very nice. Spacious, clean, warm, and having the kitchen area was a great addition. No complaints with the room. Though walking to it you cant help but feel as if you are in a holiday camp/housing estate!
We used the spa in the evening which was busy up until about 7pm when it then really went quiet. The spa was superb. Clean, functional, and very relaxing, exactly what we needed after our reception experience! The chap on the spa reception was very helpful. Afterwards we had a drink in the bar. We opted not to eat in the restaurant and had food in the room instead so cannot comment on the food or service.
As for the night time, the apartment was very quiet (as we were the only ones in the block) though my bed was uncomfortable and in places the springs could be felt.
So our thoughts, probably wouldn't opt to stay overnight here again but the spa is very nice and worthy of a day visit. While we are a family, we visited without the children. The complex seems more set up for families rather than couples, so if you are looking for a romantic night away then you may want to look elsewhere. If you are a family looking for leisure facilities, and self catering spacious accommodation then I would suggest this is a good choice.

Any improvement work is generally completed in off-peak hours and many measures are put into place to ensure guests are not disrupted. As a Country Club we are open to guests and members, this enables us to provide our customers with some of the best facilities in the region, including a state of the art gym with the latest equipment and technology, one of the largest wet spas in the area, various food and beverage options, a full range of activities and much more. We stayed at the China Fleet club last week and were very impressed. Our room was ready on arrival (3 hours early!) so we were able to check in at no extra cost. We stayed in the Rosewood Suite which was spotlessly clean, towels, robes and slippers provided. The fresh milk in the fridge was an added touch. We ate in the Brasserie on the first night and were slightly disappointed with the food, standard pub grab options but it filled the gap. The treatments at the Barn Spa were lovely and well priced. The swimming pool was perfect, not too busy and there was a lifeguard on duty at all times. Breakfast was included in our rate and we enjoyed it both mornings, only complaint was there were no pastries left on the first morning but otherwise perfect. We'll definitely be coming back to stay again :)

Just got back from another great stay at the China Fleet Club. My family and I have stayed here on many occasions and I can honestly say we have never had any reason to complain at any time. Accommodation is clean and safe Grounds are great for walking or a round of golf Plenty of things to do with the kids Pool and spa great, especially the spa for the adults Never used the bar bar and restaurant on this occasion but we have in the past and always food very nice and good value for money. We will be back in the near future.

Visited with family 2 adults 2 kids (5,4) stayed in Acer cottage. The cottage has a dedicated parking space outside, 2 bedrooms (1 double, 2 singles) and on-site facilities. The cottage is tired and needs a refurb, fridge isn’t very cold and freezer doesn’t keep anything frozen. The sofa bed is rock hard and very uncomfortable as a sofa but a very comfortable bed. It has a bathroom and toilet and separate shower and toilet which is great. The electric oven and hob were ok but I find it difficult to control the heat on them. There was a rodent on the roof of the cottage (not inside it) which was dealt with quickly. EVERYTHING onsite should be pre-booked, the restaurant, swimming pool, spa, treatments otherwise you won’t get in. They are very strict about 45mins in the pool which doesn’t seem enough and makes the changing room crowded when everyone leaves at the same time. Adventure golf is great, a really good addition. We have stayed here for 7 days 4 times now and this time I feel like it will be our last for a while

Thank you for your recent review following your stay with us. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and made use of the new Adventure Golf facility. Thank you for your feedback regarding the freezer and oven, our maintenance team have been notified and this will be rectified immediately. The pre-booking of the facilities is very much a short term measure due to the COVID restrictions we have in place. There is a significant impact on maximum numbers in each facility at the moment which meant we had to introduce this temporary booking system (weekends and holidays only for the pool) to reduce long waiting times. Whilst customer safety remains our top priority, we hope to be able remove the booking system at the end of June in line with the next stage of the roadmap. We thank you for your continued loyalty and sincerely hope you come back and visit us again soon.

Accommodation was great as we were a family of 4. Leisure facilities very good, especially the spa. The brasserie was reasonably priced. You could cook in the apartment as it has everything you need. They also provide dishcloth, washing up liquid and tea towel. Lots of parking available.

My family and I stayed at here in July for four nights in July. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the children loved the swimming pool. There was no need to book a slot for the pool, just turn up. We stayed in an apartment, which had one bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge area, where the children slept. The room was well equipped with a hob, oven, kettle, fridge, iron etc. There was milk in the fridge upon arrival and a day or so later. The room was clean overall but there was green mould/mildew on the shower screen seal and cobwebs upon arrival, so this could be improved. There was plenty of parking and one could always get a table for dinner. I would recommend booking breakfast, as it can get busy. I was very disappointed that the spa treatments were fully booked during our stay. I tried ringing through before arrival, a couple of times but nobody answered. I think this needs to be improved- maybe allow people staying to book treatments at the point of booking or when they arrive. Rather than not allow your guests to book anything. So I would strongly recommend to book your treatments before arrival. There are a number of local supermarkets in the area and it is a good base to explore Cornwall and Devon. The food at breakfast was very basic but tasted fine. The dinner was ok but not much healthy food for children. It was reasonably priced and was pleasant enough. The staff cleaning the rooms were very friendly! I would recommend this hotel to people with families.

Stayed for eight nights whilst visiting places in the area. Chose it based on convenient location for our planned trips, parking and swimming pool. Also as an apartment meant you could have the option to eat in the clubhouse or outside area, eat out or in the apartment. Bed was exceptionally comfortable. It was a real wrench to get out in the morning. The swimming pool and changing facilities are fantastic. It is open long hours so you can manage to get it quiet enough to do lengths at different times of the day. Did not use anything else but they looked amazing. We had good weather despite the poor forecast and it would have been nice to have somewhere to sit outside or walk where you could see the river. The trail they have is wooded so not scenic. My only issues with the apartment was storage especially as we had an extended stay. None in the bathroom at all and not much in the bedroom. Was a nice large mirror and small unit with chair which was very handy in the bedroom. Otherwise a hanging space and shelf. TVs and WiFi very good, as was kitchen equipment.Service was very slow in the restaurant the time we used it. But when we complained we were offered a free drink which was a nice touch. The food when it came was adequate. Did not have breakfast - did our own. Staff very pleasant. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

The swimming pool and leisure facilities can be used at any time during your stay, there is no need to book to swim.
The health club opens from 6.30am-10pm (Mon-Fri) and from 7am-9pm (Sat-Sun)
