This has to be one of the most memorable visits to a Hotel to contemplate , from arriving at the main gate to leaving was truly impeccable in every respect .

The Staff were indeed all of the highest order , with quite wonderful conversational skills that were not considered to be shall we say part of there job description, courteous without being patronising , this was noticeable in all parts of the hotel .

Pre dinner drinks served in a very tastefully presented bar and lounge area .

We enjoyed quite wonderful food in our selected restaurants, Fletchers was a perfect example of excellent dining , with a wonderful selection both fine food and wines , served with great aplomb and unobtrusive vigour.

Our experience in the Sean Rankin restaurant, was of a quite exemplary standard , that one would like to expect from such a fine dining establishment , the 11 course tasting menu was truly memorable , again expertly delivered by superb staff , I must mention Monica in this consideration, for her superb attention to detail .

A quite unique touch to the evening was the recognition that all the wonderful pictures on display within the restaurant of ladies had there eyes paired over , as not to be intrusive , nice touch !

Bedroom 13 was impeccably presented , with a quite wonderful vista from its five windows , looking over the grounds and the river with Greek Statues ever present along the river .

The Three Graces Spa once again could only be described as truly superb , in its presentation and delivery .

Needless to say I could go on about every aspect of this truly wonderful Hotel and it’s impeccable facilities and service , but I am afraid I will have to end it here , as I am running out of superlatives, yes it could be considered to be expensive, but you will not be dissatisfied with the value for money .

Most important of all considerations, my wife loved every aspect of it all.

Enough said!

I stayed in here on 7th September with my Partner for my 30th Birthday Celebrations.

We had pre-booked everything to originally we were staying in a superior suite, with two days in the spa, an evening meal and breakfast.

Upon our arrival in the stunning grounds, we were greeting by the staff who welcomed us, all very safe wearing masks and offering hand sanitizer right away.

We checked in and to our amazement, when wishing me a Happy Birthday they told us that we had a complimentary upgrade to the presidential suite. Me and my partner had previously looked at this on-line and it was way out of our budget, so you can understand why we were so shocked to be upgraded

We had a room in the listed part of the building, but it was totally up to date, renovated and beautifully decorated and spotless, lots of complimentary goodies, the entire hotel had very pleasant decor (apart from rather substandard reproductions on the walls) the ambience was excellent. Several restaurants to choose from, we chose Fletchers which served up perfectly cooked food, not overly pretentious but the chef knew what he was doing with my halibut and husband’s aged beef, we also had a genteel cream tea, cake stands and cucumber sandwiches abound. Spa is beautiful, there is a sizeable inside/outside pool, outside being quite magical in the dark. Yes i would visit this venue for a relaxing weekend which starts with valet parking service. Staff are friendly, some young and inexperienced but very willing, nice walks in area or just around the grounds, wellies, coats, brollies all provided. They have thought of most things but just a plea if they are reading, you need a separate room for those with babies and children. Do book restaurant of your choice in advance if arriving at weekend, if dining in eighty-eight you need to go outside to access this, so take coat into hotel do not leave it in car.

We spent two nights in a deluxe room in the Fountains Wing, eating in Fletchers the first night and Restaurant 88 on the second.

The hotel has been beautifully restored and well extended, although some of the decor is a bit tacky. The gardens and grounds are particularly stunning, but would be better without the piped music - yes, in the gardens!

Our room was very comfortable, with a fantastic bathroom. I asked for a room with a nice view and was initially very disappointed when they rang to say, that the only rooms they had left overlooked the entrance to the car park. However, there was a superb large flower bed on a bank between the building and the car park, so we hardly noticed it.

The hotel felt very Covid-secure, with lots of hand sanitiser, a screen at reception and all the staff wearing masks (guests also being asked to do so when moving in the public areas). They even supplied a box of PPE (2 face mask, 2 disposable gloves and a small bottle of hand sanitiser) in our room.

The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food in both restaurants was superb. Not cheap, but excellent value for money. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.

Grantley Hall has absolutely exceeded itself. The attention to detail in all areas of the hotel is second to none in fact I can say that we have never stayed in a hotel like it.

We were attending a Charity Ball in the evening and decided to make the most of our visit by staying. It was my Husbands birthday and they placed a complimentary bottle of champagne in the room which was just one of the little touches which made the visit so enjoyable.

Our room was absolutely beautiful as were the grounds, the spa and the rest of the hotel. It has been exceptionally well thought out and designed.

The staff are all a credit to the hotel and clearly well trained. From meeting you to park your car to personally showing you to your room, everything was planned to perfection.

Thankyou for such an amazing stay. We can highly recommend to others.

There is no doubt about it, Grantley Hall is stunning, and attention to detail is like no other hotel I have ever stayed at in this country. The prices for the quality and surroundings are reasonable. The same hotel within the M25 would be double onwards.
There are however in my opinion areas of improvement to match the luxurious setting.
Service does feel slightly lapse in areas, even coming from the top. We were disappointed to not be contacted regarding the temporary procedures due to COVID. Swimming pool access and breakfast requires timed bookings which I totally understand but as we did not contact them in time, we missed out on our preferred slots. I did pass my disappointment on how this was managed to Andrew McPherson the GM, but never heard back from him unfortunately.
The food in 88 was very average for the price. The menu and prices are comparable with top Asian restaurants in London, yet a long way off the standard expected.
Service in the main bar was slow resulting in me asking if it was table service (as the two barmen washed up whilst chatting).
The Harrison Spinks mattress is no doubt superior quality, however soft mattresses are quite a personal choice and most 5-star hotels opt for an all-round firm mattress with topper. We also requested firm pillows that unfortunately was not able to be fulfilled.
My wife and I recently stayed at a Belmond owned hotel in Italy where the service is flawless. The management would learn a lot from observing the small attention to detail ways in which this company operates.
There are some very good members of staff who go out of their way to achieve flawless service. The maître d in 88 who we met during our first stay at GH is very good indeed. It was also good to experience a Sauna. Most hotels have them turned off for COVID reasons but really it is just to cost running costs.

My partner and I stayed here on the 2nd of January for 2 nights. We have stayed at many hotels but I have to say, this one was wonderful. There was not a spec of dust anywhere and even the corridors had a heavenly scent. You can tell that every single detail has been looked over and the money that they spent refurbishing this place was worth it. It truly is immaculate.

We ate at both restaurants on site, and we have to say both of them were fantastic in their own right, although, we did prefer the atmosphere in EightyEight, we found the service in there down to earth and knowledgable.

(One slight negative! My partner is a lover of cider, it was a shame that the only place we could find cider was in the spa. The restaurants and bars don’t stock it and seemingly don’t intend on in the future.)

Wonderful stay and I have to say, it’ll be near impossible to find at another hotel with this level of luxury in the UK.

I do hope they keep up to the small details and don’t let anything slip through the net!

We booked a 2 night stay as an alternative to our pre booked Dubai trip cancelled due to COVID.

The room included dinner in restaurant Eighty Eight and on the second night Shaun Rankin.

On arrival we were greeted by a member of staff who welcomed us warmly and took our luggage. We were asked to have our temperatures taken which we both felt very relieved about and it gave us great comfort in knowing the hotel are being thorough in checking all guests.

We checked in but our room wasn’t ready as we had arrived before 3pm. We decided to have lunch which was delicious and the service was just brilliant. Again it was reassuring that our cutlery and napkins were handed to us using tongs and gloves, just evidence of going the extra mile to ensure safety.

We then went to the room which was stunning! Lovely robes, towels, toiletries and waterproof jackets provided too. The beds were super comfortable with lots of pillows. We had champagne in our room and lots of nice little snacks.

The spa was next and this was beautiful and the beds around the pool extremely comfy. Service for drinks also excellent. There is a swim out pool, snow room, sauna and steam room.

The gym was amazing, loads of high tech equipment, a big area and so stylish too.

The food at Eighty Eight was amazing and service outstanding. The restaurant decor was beautiful and modern, different to the hotel and felt like you could have been anywhere! We were even driven by good buggy due to the rain! We almost could have been in Dubai had it not been for the rain!

We both had full body massages and having had many, would say they were the best! Catherine and Emma were our therapists.

The grounds are amazing, we had a lovely walk around and the Japanese garden was fabulous.

The Shaun Rankin experience was memorable and the attention to detail perfect. Lovely for a special occasion. The Sommelier even gave us details of our wine in an envelope when we left!

The breakfast was definitely a highlight too, food pipping hot not greasy and the pastries to die for!!!

There are lovely outdoor areas with lots of different patio heaters and outdoor blankets.

All in all we would definitely recommend this hotel, it is luxurious and opulent without being stuffy and the service is fantastic!

Well done Grantley Hall we will be back!!

Have just returned from a stay at this amazing hotel. From arrival through the gates to be greeted by one friendly and attentive staff member after another - we were treated like royalty all the way through our stay. The hotel and grounds are simply stunning, finished to a high specification and immaculately maintained. Covid precautions and procedures were evident throughout with temperature checks on arrival, sanitiser and a sanitisation kit provided in our room. For anyone concerned about staying at a hotel during the current situation you will feel safe at Grantley Hall.
Our evening meal was in the Shaun Rankin restaurant and it was truly excellent - a real treat and a surprise lovely touch was provided for us during our visit as our stay was for a special occasion. Thank you to all the hard working staff at Grantley, you and your venue are exceptional and we cannot wait to return!

Our booking was for The Terrace which overlooks the Japanese-inspired garden, but as it was a cloudy evening we were offered seating in the restaurant if we preferred. As it was warm we ate in the terrace marquee which was well supplied with patio heaters. We opted for the 8 course tasting menu, which is described as pan Asian. Dishes were small but perfectly adequate and we were full at the end of the meal. Service was pleasant, warm and welcoming, efficient and timely. Water, both still and sparking was provided free of charge. The wine list was excellent and had a good range of more economically priced wines.
The food was first class, tasty, well presented, appealing to the eye, and the flavours were delightful and sometimes unusual. The highlight for us was the tatami of beef with flavours of ponzu and shizo leaf. The 8 course menu is priced at £65 which we considered to be excellent value.

Somewhat strangely a wine-flight for the tasting menu was not offered and it would be good if a sommelier could devise one to add to the appeal of the menu.

The Hall is Amazing, both inside and out. It is furnished and decorated to a very high standard and offers the highest standard of luxury with Lalique toiletries in the restrooms.
