A good hotel but the decor needs updating. Service and welcome were very good and friendly. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Good location for a short walk into the town centre with plenty of good restaurants.
In so many ways this hotel offers so much. One can easily imagine it's heyday especially when you notice some of the old photographs of previous customers with their elegant dress and manners - even when playing the old traditional croquet on the stunning flower...More
What are we to make of this hotel? A splendid old building, it clearly needs a major refurbishment in many areas, but it still has its strengths. One of them is NOT room 77, where we stayed. Charity shop furniture mingles with dreary old carpets...More
Very pleasant stay in this old house. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the main building could have been a bit more personal. The building itself is in need of decoration, but let that not deter you from the tradition of the house.

Yes. The hotel, in their emails, (which you can subscribe to), use a 'Pooch Friendly' logo to show this.
Also, I personally take my dogs there.
There are some great locations in the hotels vicinity to go walking.
