Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Dear Kay1980, Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to write such a lovely review. :-) I especially like the bit about the ‘super coffee bed’, predictive text can be hysterical! It really was lovely having you all to stay, and I am glad you felt so relaxed and refreshed when you left – I hope Noodles also enjoyed her mini break. With Best wishes, Libs

We loved our trip to Mickley B&B, from start to finish Libs was so helpful. The B&B is gorgeous, the beds are so comfy and we slept very well. It was great to have a little sitting room, attached to our room which was ideal for chilling out and relaxing. The breakfast was perfect, all freshly cooked and locally sourced and plentiful! We would definitely visit again and highly recommend staying at any time of the year! X

We stayed two nights in the Amber Suite on our way north. As soon as we arrived Libs made us feel welcome in her lovely home, and encouraged us to make full use of the public areas including the garden. We slept well and had lovely breakfasts to set us up for our days out. We enjoyed our trips to Ripon, Hackfall woods and Masham. Mickley itself is a lovely village. It was lovely to come back and relax in the sitting room and garden. Libs is a wonderful host who made us feel at ease, and we enjoyed our chats with her. We left feeling relaxed, which was a great start to our holiday. We hope to come back one day to Mickley B&B, as there’s so much more to see in the area.

Thank you so much for writing such a lovely review on TripAdvisor; it was incredibly kind of you :-) I hope the rest of your holiday was fun, and that the weather held out for you. I almost got in to your suitcase and headed north with you as I could do with a few days away... maybe I ought to clock in to Mickley B&B for a long weekend!! Hope you do come back at some stage - I love it when guests return. Best wishes, Libs

Can highly recommend staying in this wonderful B and B which is tucked away in a delightful village close to Ripon. The house is a delight. We stayed in the Amber room which has its own en-suite and sitting room. There is a second large sitting room situated downstairs for guests too. Everything is spotless and beautifully decorated. A wonderful nights sleep in the comfortable bed in absolutely silent surroundings. Nothing is too much trouble for the welcoming owner who prepared a delicious breakfast with wonderful local ingredients. We were able to explore the local villages of the Yorkshire Dales, Fountains Abbey and of course Ripon with its interesting museums. A visit to the Workhouse Museum is a must. The town of Harrogate is not too far away either. We would recommend this B and B without hesitation.

What a wonderful Bed and Breakfast. Really comfortable beds, with beautiful linen and lovely towels. Spotlessly clean. Meticulous attention to detail, you will want for nothing. Great to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We enjoyed the little private sitting room that came with the Amber suite. A very delicious and generous breakfast in a beautiful dining room. Libs, the owner, is extremely friendly and very helpful. She clearly has a wealth of experience of running a quality B&B and it really shows. We wish we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed.

Dear TraveLouLou33, It was lovely having you all to stay at Mickley B&B - thank you so much for coming. What’s a fantastic review. Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to write it; especially as I know how busy you are and the hiccups you had when you arrived home! You know where we are now should you want to stay locally again, but need a bit of independence from family! Best wishes, Libs

We stayed with Libs for three nights and couldn’t have had a better experience. Although a little off the beaten track it is so worth the journey. Libs welcomed us warmly into her home and showed us to our beautiful suite. With lovely little extra touches like the fresh flowers from her very pretty garden and after dinner mints on our pillows. The brilliant white bed linen was soft and the extra large bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts where scrumptious and again nothing was too much trouble so you had a good start to the day. So if your wanting to explore all the delights of the Ripon area I can’t recommend Libs and her Mickley Bed and Breakfast enough. You won’t be disappointed.

I had a really lovely stay at Mickley B&B. The room was nice and clean and the extra room in the deluxe suite was a nice added bonus. The bed was really comfortable so had a great nights sleep. Libb’s was a great host and you can tell she has put a lot of effort into attention to detail and making guests feel welcome. The cooked breakfast was delicious and options are given so you can choose what you’d like. The fresh orange juice was the best I’ve ever had - I wish there was more! There is no signal but you can use the WiFi. The only slight issue for us was the distance from any pubs/restaurants as well as Ripon as we were going to the races and couldn’t get a taxi but that was our fault for not booking in advance. All in all, I would highly recommend staying here.

What an excellent place to stay and cannot wait to go back. Libs attention to detail is exceptional, she has thought of everything. We stayed in The Amber Suite and loved having the extra space in our own little sitting room to relax and believe me I definitely felt so relaxed after our stay. Has the comfiest bed ever!! We loved Mickley B&B so much we booked to stay an extra night. Breakfast was excellent all good quality ingredients and delicious. We will definitely be back hopefully with our motorbike next time to continue exploring the Dales. See you soon Libs and thank you for making us so welcome and giving us the relaxing break we both needed.

Wonderful break at Mickley B & B. Libs was so welcoming and helpful. Bedroom ideal (with the bonus of an adjacent sitting room) and the beds so soft and comfortable. Breakfasts first class with a good choice on offer, really well cooked. Things to see in the area include Ripon Cathedral, Newby Hall, Fountains Abbey and Himalayan Gardens, plus walks along the river and open countryside. Libs recommendations for eating out much appreciated. A short break to remember for all the right reasons.

Warm and welcoming, both the beautiful house and Libs, the owner. We spent 3 comfortable nights there, enjoying the lovely breakfasts (delicious homemade fruit compote, the best scrambled egg), and exploring the area. We loved walking from the door and spent a few hours in the nearby ancient woodland, (complete with 18th century follies) above the beautiful River Ure. We really enjoyed Ripon - the cathedral, the independent shops, and a great tapas restaurant (Manchega) that Libs recommended. Beautiful drive over to Pately Bridge and a blowy walk on the moors near there. We definitely plan to return - it was definitely a treat.

Dear T9866QYjennyj, What a lovely review, thank you so very much. How lucky we were on your first morning, when we had that awful storm and power cut, that I had an aga! Otherwise, breakfast would have been a cold continental breakfast! You were brilliant, thank you, cooking breakfast by torchlight on a dying aga is a first for me, and hopefully a last! I’m very glad you had such a happy time here, and that, as you said, you felt truly rested when you left. I very much look forward to you all coming back at some stage soon. Kind regards, Libs
