Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

1970s vibe throughout which is cool really. Waitresses need to be kinder to lonely old ladies and not have me asking them if she was alright. However the silverside beef roadt dinner was delish and its a cheerful family place full of authentically irish families and couples.

I brought my class of Special Needs teenagers for lunch along with another teacher and 3 Classroom Assistants- with some trepidation. Prebooking was so easy and Pauline ensured that we were fully and sensitively accommodated. The ladies attending to our group were so friendly and patient. The food was perfect and excellent portion sizes for all. I was amazed at just how large the portion size was for my colleagues. My smaller plate meal was full of flavour. The quality and experience was so good that my classroom assistants on have come back with their families from as far away as Downpatrick. The staff complemented my five lovely pupils, who felt so comfortable at the Ashburn that there was no anxiety displayed. Thankyou to all for such a lovely experience.

We have a 3 year old with a severe peanut, for this reason we have never eaten out due to fear of cross contact with his allergen! Today that all changed. If you have an allergy, I highly recommend The Ashburn as a safe place to eat. We informed them of the allergy ahead of our visit and by the time we got there they were prepared. Kirsty managed the situation flawlessly, making sure all staff were in the know of my son's allergy. The chef Ross came and spoke to us a few times personally and ensured us we were in safe hands. They prepared his food in a separate area of the kitchen and in separate oil. Their menus also list all top allergens and May Contains which is so so helpful. May I add that all of this was done with smiles on their faces and in no way did they make us feel like a burden. I hope more restaurants follow suit in the future. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
