Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A home away from home, spectacular view with old world charm right on the meadow. Don’t think I’ve had a better breakfast experience. Rooms are all unique and modern, in a building hundreds of years old.
Loved the friendly host, who could not have been more attentive, even got up early on day of departure and sent me with packed snacks and sandwiches as I left early to catch a flight home to Canada.

Will be back. Loved the stay, so close to the town square we walked everywhere.

I would like to thank Mr and Mrs Mills for their efforts to make our stay a great one. From the moment we entered their lovely, quirky home ( it is a must for the vintage and historical amongst us) Mrs Mills could not do enough for us, Mark cooks the perfect free range eggs and locally sourced produce, a lazy breakfast in the open conservatory was a delightful way to start the day. Overlooking the river with the beautiful wildlife was just a bonus.

Myself and my husband visited as we travelled for a wedding.
Everything from the moment we arrived was perfect!
The gentleman that greeted us was kind and very welcoming. He explained everything you us very clearly and was extremely helpful.
In the morning he presented us with the most beautiful breakfast and made sure that we had everything that we needed.
The bedroom was beautiful and the bed was so comfy! We both had a very good night sleep.
We would highly recommend staying here to anyone!

With my sister and her husband flying in from the States, myself and my wife living an hour away and my brother and his family living in Sudbury, we all gathered for a four-day family reunion. I tried to book the same hotel as my sister but they don't allow dogs to stay in the rooms. Fortunately, the Mill House B&B do allow dogs (we have two) and it is only a two-minute walk to the hotel where my sister was staying. Luckily, the hotel allows dogs into their bar and this is where the whole family met every night. The Mill House B&B was a great place to stay. The scenery out back was super. The breakfast was yummy. And those running the B&B were very friendly and very accommodating. For our next family reunion, we will definitely return to the Mill House B&B.

Absolute little gem. Wonderful room with balcony overlooking the River Stour and meadows. Wildlife in abundance. The staff could not have been more helpful, wonderful breakfast served up in the amazing conservatory with that beautiful view. Would highly recommend.

Just returned from a night at Mill House in Sudbury and had a very nice stay.
There is a free car park directly opposite the B&B.
The room was very nice and breakfast was excellent.
Breakfast is served on a large table in the conservatory and the owners and guests sit together.
The views over the river are lovely and our room had its own balcony looking out.
The owners and their staff are very friendly and helpful.
Overall, we would recommend Mill House and would return if visiting Sudbury in the future.

Stayed at Mill House for 2 nights in August as I was visiting some old friends. Was the first time I booked a b&b as I have always been wary of staying in someone's house. I need not have worried!

The b&b is joined to the main house and as such you have your own area and privacy. As for the room, all I can saw is WOW! what a view over the water meadows, cows and Highland Cattle in the river just at the back of the gardens (which were absolutely beautiful).

A lovely peaceful couple of nights sleep as well.

The breakfast was great and great hospitality from Peter & Maria.

Loved my stay and would certainly come back

My parents recently stayed at this B & B and asked me to write a review. They described Mill House as delightful, with it's unusual design of bedrooms being full of character!! Their room had stairs that took them down to a bathroom. Breakfast was wonderful and the hosts very friendly. The views over the meadows are breathtaking. Will definitely visit again.

The owners of Mill House made us feel most welcome. Perhaps the best reason to visit is the quirky decor & personalities of the owners.
The house is beautiful both inside and out with original 14th/15th century features. Inside, the guest lounge has a lovely open fire, there's numerous quirky bits & bobs around the house. The old fashioned door bell rings antique flavours & the breakfast area provides a seat to enjoy the wonderful views. Outside the large garden looks over the river & fields. Plenty of wild birds on the river & lots of local farm animals in the fields.
Guest bedrooms echo the original features of the house but with modern facilities. The perfect balance of new and old.
Breakfast was extensive with a variety of juices, flavoured breads, pastries, fruits, hams, cheeses and cooked foods too! There's something for everyone.
A lovely b&b, we will definitely be back to visit again!
