It is very nice - luxurious. The breakfast was great and looking out to the gardens was lovely from the dining room. We were shown a delightful walking trail out the back gate that took us into town and avoided the busy main road. If we had more time, it would have been nice to explore this more as it...

Stayed two nights in Sallyport House with another couple midway through our vacation in Ireland. Wish it could have been longer. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Janie, we felt that we were in our home away from home. The house is spotless, and the rooms beautiful and elegant with antique furniture. My husband and I stayed...

Of the resort, hotel, and three B&B's we stayed in while vacationing in Ireland, Sallyport House was by far our favorite. I chose it based on a family recommendation to stay in Kenmare and the outstanding reviews for Sallyport on TripAdvisor. It turned out to be a great decision on both counts! We stayed for three nights in the middle...

We recently spent three nights at Sallyport House and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The B&B was spotlessly clean, our room was very comfortable and well equipped and our hosts were friendly and helpful. They provided us with very useful information for touring the region and restaurant recommendations were excellent. Breakfasts were well prepared and the fruit selections each day were...

We stayed two nights at Sallyport House and wished we could have stayed much longer! This was the most lovely Bed and Breakfast of our 2 week stay in Ireland. Perfect quiet location, just 10 minute walk through the garden gate along a scenic path, to the center of Kenmare. The lush gardens were amazing, and we enjoyed watching the...

We just spent two nights at Sallyport and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is in a wonderful location, overlooking Kenmare Bay, an easy walk to town but quiet. The walk to town is delightful, going through trees and along the bay. John is a gracious host with excellent advice on restaurants and things to do. The breakfasts were delicious, the...

We have just spent three nights at Sallyport and it was lovely. The rooms are large with lots of cupboard space. The bed was so comfortable. There are lots of interesting antiques and pictures around the house. The breakfasts were great including fresh fruit and yogurt to start. I didn't feel well overnight before we left and was told that...

It was within a delightful walk to town and their recomendations of restaurants such as Muse and Packeys were wonderful! The breakfasts were very nice but they really only offer three choices fortunately they had fresh fruit and yogurt and...

What a wonderful surprise in Kenmare. Ideally located between the Beara and Kerry Peninsulas. Waterviews everywhere. Run by family members who were born in the house; it makes you feel at home. Our room (#3) was superb, more of a junior suite than a single room. Breakfasts (included) were fabulous. The family will give you terrific recommendations; follow their advice...

My husband and I recently stayed at this gorgeous B&B for only one night, sadly. It was just perfect in every way....from the warm hospitality to the extremely comfortable room, to the good, strong shower to the delicious breakfast. Loved the little touches like bird and wildflower identification books in the breakfast room overlooking the beautiful garden. Had we not...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sallyport House stands on the shores of the Kenmare River, in the far south of County Kerry, is known to those in the locality. It is a delightful Edwardian house in a really spectacular location, right on the edge of the harbor, surrounded by parkland and trees, and by Reenagross Woodland Park, yet still just minutes away from the center of busy Kenmare town, the most south-easterly point on the renowned Ring of Kerry. ... more   less
