Staying in the Muxnaw Lodge is like staying in a small castle. We had an elegant room overlooking the beautiful river and the bridge into town. The stately, antique furniture was plush and sumptuous and the linens were exquisite. And the full Irish breakfast was the best we had in Ireland. The homemade scones, brown bread and black and brown...

I first stayed at Muxnaw Lodge in the late '90's and have returned many times. Over the years they have added a new wing which fits into the character of the house. I find it as charming as ever. The location is ideal, a walk to town but removed enough to enjoy the expansive view. A delicious breakfast is served...

We had a room on the first floor, in the extension part, with a wonderful view over the river. Lovely furniture, comfy bed and a decent shower. Breakfast with home made bread and preserves was excellent. Just far enough out of Kenmare so that you can walk in but not be bothered by lots of traffic.

A stately home with glorious sea views just out of the busy town. Very accomodating hostess who even helped us with our clothes washing! We felt like we were visiting a more gentile time. The rooms we had were very comfortable. Our 'one ' room consisted of two easy chairs looking through bay windows across the water. Behind this was...

We had a fantastic night here. The accomodation was perfect and the owner full of information. We were starting our tour of the ring of Kerry and staying here worked perfectly. It is an easy walk into town to have dinner or just a drink. Breakfast was wonderful and the bed very comfortable.

We are delighted to report that nothing has slipped - Hannah is as welcoming and enthusiastic as ever, and the breakfast with fresh breads...

Pleasantly surprised by our stay at muxnaw, didn't think we could possibly afford to stay here because it looked so grand but turned out to be really reasonable. Rooms were huge with the right mix of antiques and modern conveniences. Hannah was just lovely, with lots of great advice on where to go to eat and sightsee. Breakfast was really...

When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Hannah who made us feel so welcome. Our room was bright and spacious with beautiful old furniture which gave excellent character to the room. The view of Kenmare river was beautiful. Breakfast in the morning was a special treat with everything cooked to order. Included was a selection of home made bread...

Never having been to Southern Ireland before, I was looking forward to calm and peace and Muxnaw Lodge did not disappoint. We stayed in the Mews - a detached one-bedroom cottage in the grounds of the Lodge - and was greeted with freshly baked bread and cakes. The Mews itself has its own living space, a well kitted kitchen and...

We were delighted with every aspect of our stay at Muxnaw Lodge. The house is beautiful both outside and in with views to die for. Hannah's warmth, enthusiasm and spot on tips for where to eat, drink, walk and relax all added to perfect the mix. Her home made bread and jams totally delicious. We really didn't want to leave!...
