This stay was the highlight of our trip! This is a spacious house, great for a family. Loved the large kitchen and fireplace with peat burning. The lighthouse is functioning, but automated. Loved watching it at night. There is a washer and dryer, but no WiFi or TV, which we really enjoyed! Gail coordinated everything with us, gave us great... More

Wow! We stayed here for three nights in September 2015. What a unique and special holiday. We booked this accommodation through the Irish Landmark Trust, which preserves historical properties through the country. Staying here was among the most unique holiday experiences I have ever enjoyed. We received very clear instructions from the Trust prior to our arrival, and the keeper... More

My sister rented this for her 30th birthday! We'll never forget it anyway. We had both houses for two nights and can not fault them. The views are unreal from every angle, I woke early with the sun beaming in my window and had my coffee and toast on the boundary wall while watching dolphins play just off the rocks.... More

The Lighthouse is a property of the Irish Landmark Trust (ILT). We booked it through their website with no difficulties. The text says that there is a minimum 3 night stay but I put in for 2 nights and it was accepted. The text also says that they are very strict about the number of people in the party. We... More

There are few places on earth that matches the incredulity of staying in such a property. I stayed there in May 2014 for a weekend. Spectacular, stunning, beautiful, wonderfully appointed, clean, tidy, are just some of the words that I can say about this place. If you want an unusual place for the weekend then it has to be this... More

The Galley Head Lightkeeper's house is truly a remarkable location. Isolated, quiet and amazingly serene ..if you are looking to escape from smart phones and the constant distraction of technology this is the place. The gulls, wind and surf will take you away. Put another brick of peat on the fire and rediscover the joy of reading. Highly recommend.

What an amazing place this is. Beautiful buildings, very comfortable. The views and walks around the light house area stunning. Could not recommend this enough. There is a grand walk down to the local bar. Just remember to bring a light with you for the walk home in case you stay longer than intended.

This was our second trip to Galley Head Lightkeeper's House and it was every bit as good the second time around. Lovely views, walks, wildlife, lobstermen, seals and an abundance of birds. A "self-catering" rental means you can afford to stay home for dinner whenever you please. 20 minutes from Clonakilty and shops, Roscarberry andf O'Callaghan and Walsh seafood restaurant... More
