We stayed for two nights here and where very happy here. We arrived very late the first night (we did call in advance to let the host know we where going to be there late). She was ever so friendly and even though it was after eleven, she made us tea and biscuits. The breakfast was very nice and we... More

We had an excellent time staying with Maureen. She is a lovely person looking after her guests really well. Elaborate breakfasts and spacious guest rooms. Only the showers are a bit small. The location is rural but some rooms have wonderful views across lush fields to the sea. We would recommend to stay here:-)

This is a beautiful setting with a view overlooking lush green fields gently sloping all the way to the water. The sight is breathtaking and very peaceful. Your hostess is Maureen and try to spend some time talking to her. She really defined Ireland for us, warm, friendly, helpful...It felt like mom was just taking care of us. The room... More

Maureen was so welcoming when we arrived. She made tea, coffee, soft drinks and juice for the kids, and cake and biscuits. Our room was a family room with 2 double beds. The view of the surrounding countryside was really beautiful and that was in the "soft" Irish rain! I can only imagine what it's like when the sun is... More

This was our first trip to Ireland. We found Springfield House B&B online and booked it not knowing what to expect. We had traveled from Northern Ireland that day and arrived at Springfield later in the evening. When the 11 of us arrived Maureen greeted us as if we were family. She showed us to the lovely spacious rooms and... More

My daughter and her family stayed here while I was at a nearby hotel. They got the better of the trip. The family who run this lovely place are friendly and courteous. They could not have been better with my school age grandchildren. So glad we found them.

As a frequent traveller throughout Ireland, I didn't prebook and took a chance on ringing the door bell as had stayed here years ago. Delighted to say Maureen opened the door and accommodated me for 1 night but ended up staying 2 nights. Received homemade scones, fruit cake and good coffee once I had settled in my room. Maureen was... More

My friends and I found Springfield House by looking in a bed and breakfast book of Ireland. We had no set itinerary--just drive, explore, and stop when the mood struck, so finding this B&B was really serendipitous. It is definitely off the beaten path, on the outskirts of Clonakilty in County Cork, but it is well worth the time it... More

A very pleasant location and an excellent team to look after us. These things in particular made our stay very special. A short drive to Clonakilty, but in hindsight the location was preferred and close to the main routes to everywhere along this very beautiful coast.

“There is a restored "Castle Salem" owned by their extended family that was worth a visit too. I suggest you ask about that when you go. We took that tour before coming to Clonkilty. It too was west of Cork. Then be sure and see the stone circles called Drombeg.”
