Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent 2 nights here and were very pleased to have done so. The owners were great hosts and the house was warm and cosy. A short walk from the town centre (5 minutes) but also very quiet and by the water. Breakfast was very good and overall a very pleasant stay

The Quay is a lovely accommodation overloooking Clifden bay and very near to the centre. The en-suite room was cosy and comfortable, the lounges were very nice and the breakfast was delicious (you can choose from a long list!). The owoners were really customer friendly. Highly recommended.

A beautiful spot in the lovely village of Clifden. Julia and Paddy are wonderful hosts, in fact all the staff were great. We had a gorgeous family room on the top floor with plenty of space and super comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious. Quay House is a short walk from town - a walk we appreciated after dinner out and a few gin and tonics. Really loved this place and will be looking forward to returning. We also spent a day out on Inishbofin, hired bikes and explored the island. Recommend this to anyone visiting Clifden who has some time to spare.

A wonderful quirky eclectic bed and breakfast. The hosts Paddy and Julia are a delight, the house has 15 uniquely decorated rooms and the sitting rooms, corridors are adorned with many interesting artifacts! The breakfasts were excellent, the best so far on our journey across the West Coast. Bed was very comfortable, pillows ok and bathroom excellent. Can’t recommend this B&B highly enough.

We spent two nights in Clifden on a wonderful trip along the west coast. The Quay House exceeded our expectation by far. Julia, the hostess was very helpful and friendly. The house is filled with antiques and bric-a-brac. Various sitting rooms offer the possibility to relax. Only that our room was so large, so well furbished and had such a nice view on the harbor that we preferred it. The breakfast was outstanding - the best we had on our two week trip in Ireland. Adding to this the house is in a quiet spot but still within walking distance of the city center, where you find a variety of nice restaurants.
