We booked a night at the Buttermilk Lodge on the recommendation of a friend who had visited Clifden last year. The room and ensuite bath were very nice and the breakfast was delicious. The proprietors are friendly and helpful in recommending local attractions.

We were met by Pat on arrival and both my wife and I thought it wasn't the best welcome we've had. Our room was a bit dated decor wise but nonetheless it was comfortable and clean.Breakfast was fine so no complaints there. The house is well situated with just a few minutes walk

Hello Eileen, there are 2 bike hire shops in Clifden, Mannions Bike Hire and All things Connemara both have push bikes and electric bikes, There are 4 horse riding centres Cleggan Riding Centre, Errislannon Manor, The Point and Diamonds of Renvyle if you are using public transport then Cleggan is the best as the Citylink Bus Service connects from Clifden to Cleggan, 3 times a day. Yes if you need to be in Shannon in the morning, its best to stay in Galway the night before.Clifden to Galway takes 1.5 - 2 hours by bus.
