We stayed at Mannix Point from the 13th to the 16th October and had just the most wonderful time. The site is nestled into the side of the estuary and has been sensitively developed not to blend in with the natural environment and outstanding views. On our first evening looking out to the estuary we spotted sea lions against the...

My husband and I backpacked around Ireland staying at different campgrounds on our Honeymoon and this was by far the best place we stayed! The owner- Mortimer (and Joe!) were awesome and super welcoming. We had so much fun playing music and singing in the music room with 15+ other campers + a cozy little fireplace fire. The location is...

Hello Erica. I am very happy to know that you enjoyed your time at Mannix Point. I have been a walker and backpacker for many years (but I've never been on honeymoon). My experience has taught me that when you come off the mountains cold and wet and tired it is important to have some comfort. That is what I...

They said this was a special place and we couldn't agree more, spent a lovely night here on our travels, the view second to none, stunning, our favourite campsite so far. Mortimer was a great host, weather could not have been better for us. Hopefully we will return to Ireland and be able to stay longer next time.

Probably the best campsite I have ever stayed on particularly if you are in a tent (which I wasn't but could be tempted back!). Superb location, excellent facilities and a very well thought out site which provided just the right mix of privacy and informality within a well organised space.

Hello Maria. Thank you for your great review. I consider it a great compliment to the place that you could be tempted back to your tent. I have always loved camping but alas, now the bed is too close to the ground for me to get up. Those were the days! Cheers.Mortimer.

Camped with the family late summer. Still plenty going on. People at the site were very kind - Joe helped us put our tent up in the rain and Patrick scanned documents for us to help our uni application. We loved having a music room. The beach is stony, but beautiful. A good spot for exploring the Ring of Kerry....

When we were looking for a campsite in Kerry, this one kept popping up as the 'best campsite in Ireland'. After staying there I can say I don't know if it's the best campsite in Ireland as I haven't staying on all of them, but in my 40 odd years of camping all over Europe it's without a shadow of...

Hello mrsmantwerp. Thank you for the wonderful compliment of describing Mannix Point as in your 40 years of camping all over Europe it's "without a shadow of a doubt the best campsite I have ever stayed on" . That lifts my spirits and that of all the team. Thank You. Cheers. Mortimer.

My family and I camped in Mannix Point for the first time in July of this year. We all had such a great time, especially the children, ages 10 and 8, that we just had to go back for another trip in August before the kids went back to school. Undoubtedly, for us the highlight of this fabulous campsite were...

Hello Marie. Thank you for your excellent review. I am happy to know that you and your children enjoyed your holiday so much that you returned in the same season. I hope to meet you again this year. I am interested to know that 8 and 10 year old children enjoyed themselves without TV or conventional entertainment. It is rewarding...

Lovely views but very wet and windy when we stayed. Site fine but showers quite small and sometimes not functioning properly. I had a jet stream shower once. Nice facilities for washing and drying and freezer but washing machines and dryers VERY expensive so beware. 5 euros a wash and 5 Euros for 1 drying cycle!

Hello Sue. I am happy to know that you like the lovely views but unfortunately I cannot control the wet and windy weather. It happens from time to time in Ireland and it can have a damping effect on all our spirits. I am disappointed that you did not enjoy the power showers. We are told by many that they...

Spent a few beautiful days at this gorgeous campsite. Fabulous location on the sea shore surrounded by mountains. Great facilities with an open fire and comfortable seating area.I especially enjoyed the scent of the sweet peas under the canopy at the utilities block. The subdued lighting is lovely at twilight. Hello Ger. Thank you for your kind words and I look forward to your next visit which I hope will be soon.
