We visited Knockanore as a family of four in August 2016. The property is set in lovely farmland approx 20 mins drive from Kilkenny city. The property is exactly as pictured/described, it’s a relatively new build with all mod cons you would expect and is extremely comfortable and spacious. The best part of Knockanore is the wonderful hospitality and the...

Perfect quiet, private, clean and spacious spot to relax after a day of touring. Four of us all said we'd stay again, because Mary and Jim are genuinely welcoming, flexible and patient; Mary shared life stories and suggestions for our stay and everyone loved her chocolate cake! Also, the location is central for grocery, dining and sightseeing. Each bedroom has...

Our first visit to Ireland. this was the first week of a special holiday for my ill sister. We had the one level cottage fitted out for the disabled. The cottage décor was so good and it had the wow factor big time. It was wonderfully fitted out and so spacious and clean. so many gadgets to use in the...

Just back from a week's holiday which from our experiences of self-catering in Ireland has to be Tops! Mary, the Owner/Host was so welcoming, even down to having fresh bread, biscuits, milk and butter provided and the surprise of a freshly baked cake supplied by Mary on Tuesday. The property was fresh and spotless and the fire supplies for the...

The welcome is everything what you could hope for... and what's more the house is warm with a fire on in the stove and a few basics in the fridge and cupboards. If you want to get away from it all while being close to the motorway (a few km) and Kilkenny, it's a good choice. The Nore River is...

Very pleased with the accommodation. Mary is a wonderful host. The house is very clean and comfortable. So nice to have basic supplies in the fridge when we arrived and the homemade loaf was delicious. The setting is so peaceful. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, convenient place to stay.

arrived early Sept for a short visit-as always, Mary was welcoming. The accomodation is still excellent, with linen as new and spotlessly clean. The grounds are well kept and there is an addition of new fencing and table with 4 chairs since my visit summer 2011-the setting is so peaceful, nestled among fields yet so close to local amenities(approx 1 mile). The shops and...

Stayed here with my husband and two other adults and could not have asked for a better experience. Mary O'Connell and family were absolutely lovely and accommodating, even though we arrived much later in the evening than we had planned, and greeted us homemade tea cakes/buns that didn't make it past two hours! Just a really love home, feels very...
