Had a late lunch which was very disappointing. The beef pie & mash. Why is their pickled onions in the pie, presumably out of a jar. Pie crust was good, pastry good, beef was mediocre. Nash was nearly cold. Dessert, apple crumble, stewed apples put in a dish with crumble thrown on top, crumble was cold, what there was off it, like something out of a packet, a hotel not making proper apple crumble??? The tea was the nice thing I had here today. From this hotel was bought over, the menu, good etc gets worse. Sad but true

This is a very nice hotel, located in a lovely area Nice food - reasonably priced - good sized rooms, plenty of parking - great faculties superb breakfast - lot of choice - all fresh cooked. Very good and friendly reception staff

What can I say that hasn't been said before about this hotel. Stayed here as a treat as it had been recommended to us by a family member. Its authentic, unique, otherworldly. The staff are fantastic, run off their feet the night we stayed due to taking extra people from Carlingford and the sister hotel "the four seasons" been flooded, but they had time for a chat, smile and excellent service. Make sure you take in the grounds and the Dolmen and burial tomb while your here, its a fabulous look into Irelands past. If you want something different and somewhere to just unwind, then Ballymascanlon is the place.

we stayed here recently and most definitely will be returning. Professional friendly staff ( a special shout out to Paula and Kiall) nice food with a spacious comfy room. The grounds are fabulous especially this time of year with their colour.

The Bellewstown Lady Golfers had their annual night away in Ballymascanlon Hotel at the week end, we made our reservation with Sylvia who was extremely helpful and did everything possible to accommodate the group. Nothing was any trouble to her and she communicated everything by email and made everything very clear. Gerry in the golf shop looked after our golf booking. He too made sure everything was in order and couldn’t be more helpful He advised us about where we should park our trollies, gave us helpful information about the course and donated a gift to us as a prize. All in all we have a lovely day and a very positive experience at the Ballymascanlon Hotel

Stopped by on my way from a soccer match for Sunday lunch a number of weeks ago. Hotel and location (especially in the sunshine) is fab. Absolutely first class for me and two hungry boys. I had the Beef with Yorkie side and they had my favourite vegies (mixed sweeds mashed ). Thank you to all especially Karen who couldn’t do enough for us.

Very friendly and helpful staff from booking accommodation to receiving us at check in. Very accommodating to allow eight ladies have two days together golfing. Food excellent, rooms comfortable and grounds immaculate. Looking forward to returning again next year. Everyone enjoyed immensely.

We stayed here on a coach package holiday. What can I say from start too finish it was a very pleasant experience. Very friendly staff at all times. Luggage taken to your room. Food was of a very good quality. The rooms where so clean and well maintained. We had a stand in shower in our room which was great as my wife would have had problems getting in the bath. Towels changed everyday and what surprised me was before dinner I had a shower and towels where wet. When we went back too our room I am sure they had been changed although nothing was mentioned. This is only a very short review but take it from me you will be not disappointed.

A very big thank you to Sylvia and all at the Ballymascanlon following our recent golf overnighter. Everyone who participated was very impressed with all aspects of the hotel and the staff. Nothing was too much bother and a special mention goes to Jackie in the restaurant for her efficient service. The meals in the restaurant each night were undoubtedly the highlight of the stay. We could not have been made to feel more welcome and the accommodation was superb. Gerry in the golf shop looked after us and ensured we had a smooth round on a great course. I have no doubt we will be back for another golf outing at some stage in the future.

What a fabulous place, the hotel was beautiful with lots of character and the grounds were stunning. The staff at the hotel were excellent and the food was magnificent. My friends and I played golf on the challenging over three days and loved it. The spa facilities are not to be missed, outdoor hot tub was superb. Can’t fault this hotel or it’s staff. Hopefully we will be back soon
