An excellent base from which to explore beautiful South Donegal. Sliabh Liag cliffs a must visit! A very comfortable stay. Well-maintained, clean hotel with friendly, attentive staff. Good food on offer. You must visit the fabulous Eddie Doherty (weaver) and the gorgeous Courtyard Restaurant (bakery) if you're staying in Ardara.

Went there for dinner and the starters were cold and wouldnt recommend the garlic mushrooms they were half warm and half freezing cold . I asked for the chicken with no mushroom sauce wanted pepper sauce instead it came out covered in mushroom sauce. The waitress wrote it down it the chef seems to don't care. Just becareful if you have kids going to check there food makes sure its hot and done. Be safer prob going somewhere else.

Dear Samantha Thank you for your review and my apologies for the issue with the mushrooms, I will investigate same. Regarding the sauce, we always recommend you ask your server to rectify same, as this could have simply been done for you. I don't accept that our chef doesn't care, our chefs work very hard and mistakes can happen, we are human after all. Kind regards Claire

The rooms were clean and very importantly to me, quiet. The beds are comfortable but the doubles are small. The breakfast was a huge disappointment. The Big breakfast I had consisted of a cold hard fried egg, cold bacon cooked presumably hours earlier, cold beans, cold sausages some brittle white and black pudding and an unidentified triangle possibly a hash brown or potato cake? The service equalled the food in its quality as at 1 point 3 of us on our table were waving frantically and calling "Hello, hello, excuse me" because if you require Honey it is by request only. Bear in mind there was maybe 6 or 8 staff some of which actually looked at us and still didn't come over. The local yoghurt was lovely though, especially when I'd finally got up and stopped a waitress and asked for it.

Dear Guest Thank you for your review, all your comments are noted. We are renowned for our great breakfast and I am disappointed to hear this, but in the interest of excellence, I have addressed this. Our industry is experiencing great challenges with staff and at this time of year, we are taking in our new students and most of them this early in the season would be in training, however this does not excuse us for your experience. I am not sure what room you were in but all our beds were changed last year and the smallest bed is a 5 ft pillow top so I am perplexed by your comment. I would love it if you would join us again to let us see that this is not normal practice for us. Kind regards Claire

I stayed in the hotel for two nights as I was attending a family occasion. The room was clean - I found it a bit strange that there was no wardrobe just a hanging space. The breakfast was nice. There was a menu for cooked breakfast which was nice. The juice, toast , cereal etc was help yourself. I felt that there could have been a better choice here but maybe they was just me. The staff were lovely. It’s probably more to do with the way things are now after covid but I felt the price for one person for two nights with breakfast was a bit overpriced for a country hotel.

Called today, while the weather was great and decided to sit outside in the spacious enclosed "The Sheep Pen" :) at the front. Warmly welcomed by the two members of staff, sorry didn't get names. Asked where I was sitting and they would bring it to me. Guinness and Chicken Caesar Wrap (Chicken, bacon, salad & caesar sauce), amazing and packed with chicken. The cutlery was brought out and was informed they were just waiting for the Guinness to settle again amazing. Definitely worth going if you get a chance.

From the moment I spoke to Grace on reception to book our room i knew we would not be disappointed. Grace was on duty when we arrived and gave us all the the information we needed for the next couple of days. Parking is on the street or just around the corner in a free public car park. We stayed in Deluxe king room and definitely could not fault it, very clean room with comfortable bed, good shower. The hotel was clean throughout, staff were all very friendly and helpful. We eat in the hotel both nights and food was very good and keenly priced. Breakfast in mornings was also very good. Its a great base for exploring south donegal, the Secret waterfall at Largy , Assaranca waterfall, Maghera caves and beach, Glencolmcille, Silverstrand beach etc Definitely will return to this hotel.

We've just had my sisters hen party weekend in Ardara and we stayed in the Nesbitt Arms Hotel. Cannot praise the hotel enough, Maureen and Grace were brilliant when it came to organising everything, especially when we had a few last minute changes. The rooms were lovely, clean and modern but also very comfortable and cosy. We had dinner and breakfast and the food was excellent 10/10. The staff were all lovely, very helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Ardara was the perfect spot for our hen party, friendly bars with live music and even friendlier locals. We all had a brilliant time!

We really enjoyed our stay here over the weekend. The little town has so much character and hotel is so central. The decor is just beautiful and recently refurbished. Our roon had a modern twist with beautiful bold colours and rich textures. We will definitely return during the summer again as the beach nearby is just breath taking.

Popped in for a bite to eat on the 17th March, the food was fabulous the service fast and efficient. The service was friendly ( especially Laura) , special requests were dealt with and confirmation came from the kitchen quickly. The portions were generous, the food was well cooked and well presented. The fish pie was particularly tasty. Will definitely be back for the fresh tasty food and the great friendly service.
