Popped to the pub downstairs for lunch on a chilly winters day. The fire was warm, the atmosphere was cosy and our lunch was good. We ordered in the cafe but ate in the pub, which is connected. The vegetable soup was lovely and the kids enjoyed their toasted sandwiches. We had apple pie, cheese cake and chocolate muffins for...

Had to travel on business with a work colleague at the end of November. When we arrived at the hotel we were given our rooms. Headed up stairs and flicked the light switch only to have the lights in both rooms blowing something electrical meaning no lights. Unfortunately no repairman was available until the next day so had to get...

Our monthly meeting of our vintage bike club was decided to be held in Dooley's Hotel. On this cold and dreary morning we had 13 of the group show up. We had lads from Mayo, Trim, Navan, Wicklow, Tipperary, Dublin, Kilkenny. This was something special of a Breakfast meet up as one of out members had recently returned to Saudi...

An excellent hotel well located with friendly staff and good food.I would happily stay there again. There was some noise from the adjoining night club but I was warned about this on checking in and I happily stayed in the same room a second night despite being offered the option of moving to another room

I stayed here for one night and liked the fact that it's in a central location of the town and an easy stroll to the castle, pubs, and so on. Unfortunately, I stayed on a Saturday when they have 'disco night' (I thought discos were long gone, but go figure). The hotel clerk warned me and put me up on...

Great position....right in the middle of Birr in the square. A choice of pub meals or a coffee shop and they have a superb huge outdoor area out the back which was a great surprise. Typical of Ireland it has plants, pots and greenery. During the Vintage Fair Week they had a band but unsure if this is usual. They...

Went here today for Sunday dinner with my husband kids and in laws. My hubby and I was very disappointed with our meal. I had a lamb dinner and he had a turkey and ham dinner. It tasted like it had been there from about 2 days before and heated in the microwave. My lamb was very fatty, the mash...
