Having just returned from a couple of nights away at the Inn on the loch which was very good, but could have been better. 1st. We were treated at reception from a very welcoming receptionists (sorry I forgot your name] who made us very welcome as all the staff through the hotel just can't do enough for you as all staff muck in to help make the hotel run first class which was good to see. The food at the hotel was just first class from breakfast lunch and dinner just couldn't it
The only done side was some over priced drinks, but the main thing we didn't like was the dogs were allow in the restaurant at meal times which I just don't think is right and also the rooms could do with some TLC badly but I would return if the dogs were not in the restaurant at meal times

Excellent friendly service, clean warm rooms and comfy beds make this a great place to stay. Although Not necessarily the grandest hotel you’ve ever seen from the outside, the views from inside and the tartan interiors make the hotel well worth visiting. The breakfast was excellent, locally sourced bacon and dinner of freshly battered fish and chips was great. The breakfast staff couldn’t do enough to help and were chatty and helpful. Emma on the front desk went out of her way to make sure our room was what we wanted. Location wise it’s lovely, great views of the Loch and the hills behind, make sure you get a room to the front though or you will only see green shrubs. This is an honest and friendly place, no frills, a sort of Scottish premier inn, but with a personal touch.

We had a pre Christmas stop-over at this hotel and unfortunately it wasn’t the best! We had upgraded our room to a superior room and apart from a view of Loch Lomond out the window, there was nothing superior about it! The floorboards were extremely creaky which was bad enough but to have creakier floorboards outside our room was far more annoying…every time someone came near our room, the noise from the floorboards resonated around our room! The television was virtually unwatchable as the picture was so dull, you couldn’t make out what was going on in the programmes! One redeeming factor was the shower…it was brilliant, could have stayed in there for ages! On to the food in the restaurant, big disappointment. I ordered a medium rare sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and was presented with a very thin minute steak way overcooked with a sauce that was runnier than water!! The waitress did offer to replace the steak after I cut into it and found it well done but I wasn’t prepared to wait on another being cooked while others ate theirs! Charging supplements for both the steak and the sauce, I’d have expected something a bit more presentable than what I received! Breakfast in the morning wasn’t a lot better, received our cooked breakfast and the waiter asked if we would like any sauces which we did…never saw him again! Unfortunately we won’t stay here again, lovely location but certainly not the quality you’d expect from a 4* hotel.

A warm welcome from an energetic caring staff. Room was spacious with great views and a really comfy bed. Dinner was great value as it was included - a gift from our daughter. Steak pie was excellent with a great mash a properly cooked vegetables. Breakfast was again cooked with care, no grease and piping hot. Featured the best pork sausages we have had in a long time. We hope to be back in the autumn probably for at least two nights

We stayed from the 20th till 22nd for our wedding anniversary on arrival the receptionist who dealt with us was very welcoming told us everything we needed to know about our stay great start so far. Then things started to go south on the Tuesday when we returned from been out all day we headed back to our room number two to find that our door had not been closed or locked it was left open by who ever went in to put extra toilet roll in. Anyone could of walked in and taking anything that belonged to us. We had presents left in there and personal belongings luckily nothing was missing but this does not excuse what had happened. We got changed to go for food and to report this matter face to face there was no receptionist available for the rest of the night we was told this by a member of staff who works behind the bar and no management! We told him what has happened and he was like a deer in head lights he did not really know what to do he did say sorry this has happened and offered us a free drink. The food was nice on the Monday but Tuesday night the fries was over cooked hard. The burger it self was ok nothing special it all fell apart out the bun bit sloppy. Back to our room we went and the people above our room they did nothing but bang about and run backwards and forwards god knows what they was doing but it was highly annoying when trying to get some sleep. The room itself was clean and tidy and so was the bathroom the bed was two single beds pushed together not really ideal as they kept moving apart and we had to keep pushing them back together. The pillows had lost there support my wife ended up with a creek in her neck. Both breakfasts was nice. On leaving to head home my wife went to drop the room key back at the front desk and to tell the receptionist about Tuesday night about our room and the ones above us she was not interested said ok bye not very professional at all this was not the same person who dealt with us on arrival. Not worth what I paid to stay here I was expecting a lot more for my money.

Well really disappointed was lucky enough to be given a wowcher for Xmas paid additional 70pounds for weekend upgrade and room upgrade the deluxe troops are anything but deluxe pillows were manky ``(Scottish word) View of n Ben lomond was nice though. The dinner was a disaster my wife ordered a vegetarian steak pie and mash and myself the mollues marniere when it arrived they brought my wife a vegan burger when we advised this was not what we ordered they took it back to change after 15mins the waiter came back and apologised that the steak pie was not available. So my wife ordered the burger wheat risotto. It was in her opinion tasteless and nothing to write home about. My mussel dish was not what I expected the sauce was weak and watery and they had also sprinkled the dish with a garnish of fresh chilli's when should be a nice white wine sauce and I would say chives or spring onions as a dressing. So moving on to breakfast all I can say is it looks like the cook the whole shifts breakfast at beginning of shift we were booked in for 9 and everything was well overcooked you couldn't cut the tattie scone the bacon I could have used to sole a pair of shoes the coffee was tepid as well and weak in strength. Very disappointed as was a birthday night away for my wife and had heard good things about the place

Was looking forward to going to the hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday. My husband told me he had booked a Superior Room with dinner and breakfast. The room we were given was 105 on first floor. It was a double bed in a single room with one chair and 4 towels. The only thing Superior about the room was the view. The room was tiny. He went to reception to point out it was tiny (tiny was an understatement). The young receptionist told him that was what a Superior room as we had a view of the Loch. However he pointed out that the room it shows you online was 3 times the size of ours and was therefore mis-sold. We were not happy with the answer we got. Anyway we live quite a bit away and were not going home, so just beware what you are paying for before arriving. When getting out of bed you had to walk sideways because there is less than a foot between the wall and the bed. There's more room in a caravan. We headed down for a drink at the bar which was bright and the bar staff cheery. No Guinness. So within an hour we didn't like the size of room and they did not have Guinness. I had a cappuccino which was lovely and hubby had to settle for a pint of Best!!!! We had booked a table for dinner for 7.30pm. We just got into restaurant where the singer was on, by the skin of our teeth. No tables appeared to be reserved despite booking. So if you were just a walk in, they filled the restaurant first and everyone else get put in the bar nextdoor. Don't get me wrong you could still hear the singer. The food was outstanding. Husband had mussels then Fish Pie. I had Korean chicken followed by Steak Pie, fries and vegetables roasted in oven in butter. Drinks were ordered by table service. The restaurant and Bar Staff are the best. They are so good at their jobs desperate being rushed off their feet. Breakfast was also lovely.

I stayed with my partner and 16 year old son in Room 305 in the beach house.
This is our second visit, so we knew we had picked a fab and quiet location and the view was great. The rooms had been refurbished from when we visited three years ago. The room itself was clean, fresh and modern and finished to a high standard. It was in an L shape, so there was some privacy for my son.
There was a lovely big tv on the wall and the hospitality tray was well stocked and the bottle of Prosecco each was a nice touch. Perhaps some bottled water and hot chocolate would have been good for any children staying.
There was a fridge in the wardrobe (although I switched it off as it made a noise which was noticeable in the night). However, the was only one thin drawer (with a hairdryer in it) so nowhere to put any clothes (especially as it’s a room designed for 4!). The bath robes were a nice touch and the little bottles of shampoo and shower gel were a nice quality. Moisturiser would have been nice too. The bath towels were lovely and soft and there was a heated towel rail which was great. The downside to the bathroom was that there weren’t blinds in the windows. Our windows were next to the main path into the beach house and we all felt very self conscious when going to the loo or in the shower and people walked by. There was frosted glass, but I feel that they need blinds.
We opted not to eat in the restaurant, as last time we didn’t have a great experience. We did look on the menu but wondered why many things had a supplement! Why not just state the actual price?
Breakfast was ok. The usual cereal, toast etc. The yoghurt was served out of a big dish rather than an individual pot. The coffee and hot water were dispensed out of large canisters. The bread for the toast looked and tasted quite a cheap brand.
The staff that we interacted with were all lovely. However, given that we paid a premium price for the room and experience, there were little things lacking. We also didn’t like the fact that they put a £50 hold on a card- it felt like they distrusted us before we even got to our room. However, an overall great stay.

My wife in December 2023 saw a voucher for this hotel so she phoned them to see if dates were available for my 70th Birthday. They said no need to buy the voucher we will give you the same deal so she booked direct with them for 16/17 February. She updated the room etc so total for 2 nights, meal first night and breakfast for the 2 mornings and that was that. On the 7th Feb eventually after phoning numerous time my wife spoke to Emma agreeing times for meal and breakfast and she said the total payment of £309 was due by the the 14th February. My wife phoned again on the 11th Feb to pay balance only to be told they were fully booked and also the booking should have been paid. Remember my wife booked this last December for a very special occasion. What a joke !

The positives were that the staff were generally friendly and trying their best, we enjoyed the Saturday musician in the bar area and you can walk under the bridge to a small area of the loch side. Our ‘deluxe’ room had a view of the loch from across the road. But there were many negatives. From the photos we thought the hotel was in a peaceful location when in fact it’s right next to a very busy 60 mph road. The decor and furniture in our room was very faded and worn, see photos. (Many of the nicer photos on the site seem to be of the more modern beach house rooms? but most of the rooms are in the actual hotel main building). The outside of the hotel is grubby and looks uncared for. The food was of a poor standard which is a problem as there is nowhere else in easy walking distance to eat. I feel sorry for the hospitality industry after covid etc but the price for our room in no way represents the standard at the hotel. We were very disappointed and checked out after one day of a two day stay and went elsewhere. The girl at front of desk very kindly reimbursed us for the second night but I’m still posting this review as I don’t want others to be as disappointed with their holiday here as we were
