We LOVE this campsite! As a group of girls who usually go camping a couple of times a year, this year we weren't sure as one of us is pregnant, we decided to give glamping a go to save some of the lugging around of kit and this far exceeded our expectations! We stayed in a Pioneer Lodge which was excellent, clean, tidy, with proper beads and a log burner. We'd each brought a sharp knife and our own camp cups not really knowing what would be there butt hey have literally thought of everything! BBQ tools, cutlery, sharp knives, working tin opener, sharp peeler coolbox, blankets, solar lighting, there were bins for any type of waste and everything was really well labelled. We were also surprised to find a really well looked after compost loo and hot showers and washing up facilities in our field to save a walk to the main block. On the Sunday we paid for breakfast in the Dutch Barn and we were also absolutely blown away, we were offered tea and coffee, home made apple juice with elderflower and the most delicious porridge to start then the cooked breakfast catered for all our dietary requirements and left us totally stuffed for the day! Alongside that Jon and Soo are Wonderful hosts, really friendly and welcoming and had great local recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Cannot recommend enough, and we WILL be back.
Thanks for giving us such a lovely break!

Just back from staying a week here. We (me and two boys aged 8&12) absolutely loved it. Soo and John are very welcoming. Stayed in an eco dome which we can highly recommend - warm cosy beds with thick feather duvets and welsh blankets, great wood burner, and very well stocked kitchen with everything you need, so whatever the weather you can have a great time! Plenty to do in the area, the campsite is designed to be super eco friendly (which was important to us) and it is well placed to explore Pembrokeshire - lots of good ideas for places to visit were provided. We would definitely visit again. Oh and we loved feeding the pigs so much - and seeing them being reared properly! Thank you again.

Took our young family for their first outdoor camping here in the bell tents and they all absolutely loved it. The communal facilities are always spotless and there are load of things to do on and off the campsite.

It’s a very well planned site with not too many tents around which give you lot of privacy as well as lots of open spaces for kids to explore. We stayed for 3 days and would definitely be going back for a longer trip next time.

We stayed for 5 nights in one of the Pioneer tents which are set in their own spacious field with a stunning view of the local hills. Being set away from the road there is zero traffic noise allowing full enjoyment of the plentiful bird song.
The tent was well equipped with excellent beds and a very warm duvet. An excellent wood stove was very useful to keep us warm on the mid May evenings.
We had our own outside kitchen which was extremely well equipped with sharp knives and fantastic cast iron pans. If you like to cook, the kitchen has everything you need. You get a huge cool box with large freezer blocks that can be exchanged when you need to.
The site itself is beautiful with lots of trees, hedges and wild flowers and the grass is left long in the centre of the fields to encourage the wildlife but kept very neat where it needs to be.
Showers were hot and clean; there are composting toilets in the fields with plumbed very new and clean toilets at the reception area if you prefer.
If you like camping or glamping this site will not disappoint and with plenty to see and do in the area it makes it a great holiday.

I stayed in the Meadow Field which has to be one of the most beautiful camping areas in the UK. It was surrounded by spectacular woods and some stunning walks. The pitches are huge giving you privacy from other campers. If like me you are a solo traveller, and female, it can be a little intimidating camping solo. However, I was made to feel very welcome by both Soo and Jon and all the other guests.

The facilities are first rate. The showers, toilets and general camping area were spotless. The showers were warm and the kitchen area, toilets and hand washing facilities were cleaned very regularly. There was a freezer for guest use and a place to charge mobiles. There were wheelbarrows to help transport your stuff from the car park to your pitch which was really helpful.

This is definitely not a party campsite. If you want music and parties please stay elsewhere. For families, couples, friends and solo travellers like myself, it was perfect. Sitting in my chair drinking my coffee in the morning listening to the bird song and watching the parents trying to get kids organised for the day was one of the highlights of my trip.

I would also recommend getting up in the middle of the night to look at the stars. The Milky Way was visible and you might be lucky enough to see some shooting stars as there is no light pollution.

I highly recommend staying at the Top of the Woods!!

This was our third stay at Top of the Woods; the previous occasions were family celebrations. This time it was just the family and dogs so allowed us more time to just relax, enjoy the location and each other in this blissful setting.

As fairly hardened campers, the joy of Top of the Woods is that you have all the sense of being outdoors with none of the hassle of putting up tents and lugging cooking gear etc, with the bonus of glorious beds and you own very well equipped cooking and bbq facilities.
The balance of convenient 'field' loos, showers and washing facilities and immaculate permanent loos and showers is great.

The Top of the Woods team are helpful and friendly and the site is managed brilliantly.
Thanks Soo and team. We will be back.

Top of the Woods is a beautiful, well kept and welcoming eco friendly camping and glamping site. This was our fourth stay and we treated ourselves to a Safari Lodge for 10 nights, which was luxurious, spacious and well equipped. Soo and John are amazing hosts with great knowledge of the area and exciting local connections. This time I tried paddle boarding with yoga with a lovely instructor recommended by Soo. The countryside is incredible and it's so peaceful. We will be back again in the future to our favourite and very special holiday spot. Oh and try the weekend breakfasts....they are yummy.

We had a fantastic stay at Top of The Woods.

The site is great. The owners have built a really good setup. The long grass in the centre of the meadows is good, and the grass near the accommodation was well looked-after.

Everything went smoothly and just worked, the owners and staff were helpful and friendly.

The location is really good. There is good running/walking through the local forest and up local hills from the site. Access to Cardigan and the lovely beaches on the north coast is very easy and even the beaches in the far west are only an hour away.

Cycling in the area is very pleasant -the roads are very quiet, surprisingly well-surfaced and the drivers are friendly and courteous.

We stayed in a Pioneer Lodge for a week. We have done a lot of tent camping, yurts, pods and the like in the past.

The Pioneer Lodges were a good size and stood up well to the weather. The beds with feather duvets were very comfortable and the woodstoves worked very well.

The facilities in the cooking & eating shelter were really good.

The composting toilets in the field were fine (we had used similar in the past) and the conventional flushing toilets in the main block were very clean.

The showers in the wooden sheds in the fields were very pleasant.

We liked the lack of cars on site. Using wheelbarrows to transport belongings is a great idea. The owners use electric vehicles on site, which is also good.

The games in the barns were popular and the cinema barn was a really good idea.

A washing line and a few more hooks to dry our (multifarious!) kit could have been good, but I had brought some paracord and coat hangers, so it wasn't an issue.

This is a really special place to camp, beautiful site, fantastic unique facilities like the Dutch barn and football table barn which our kids loved hanging out in. We also enjoyed eating up there in the cool shade as we camped in a heatwave but could see how useful this would also be in rainy weather too. The other regular facilities like toilets and washing up sinks are first class with lovely little touches, like nice soap in the loos and washing up liquid provided. Our kids loved the freedom and making friends and the car free site and like minded families meant we could relax and let them venture around. The activities like movie night and pizza night were also great and the site very sociable and friendly.

I also liked how on top of recycling they were with clearly labelled bins everywhere and other green credentials.

The location is ideally placed for exploring and we certainly have more to see on our next trip - we will be back!

Amazing place!!! Beautiful location, feels like you are in the middle of no where, it’s so peaceful! Owners Soo and Jon can’t do enough for you and are so welcoming (along with their 2 dogs and 3 pigs). Can’t recommend a visit enough, they have everything you need and have a choice of tent pitches and also ready set up safari tents for the “glamping experience”. Excellent facilities including lovely food cooked in the Dutch barn communal area. Lovely woodland walks accessible from the site. Toilet and shower facilities were always spotless no matter what time of the day you visit.
Can’t wait for next year so we can visit again
