Clachtoll Beach Campsite is a quiet family run touring caravan and camping site in Sutherland, in the North West of Scotland, 5 miles North of the village of Lochinver. The campsite covers an area of approximately 2.5 Acres and is entirely grass. On arrival visitors are asked to report to the Wardens who will help them to find a suitable site. We have 20 serviced pitches which provide water and Electric hook-ups and to avoid disappointment we now take bookings for our busy times. Toilet and shower facilities, dishwashing sinks, laundry, chemical disposal point and a public telephone are available. Dogs are welcome provided they are kept on a lead at all times on the campsite. This area is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty and spectacular land and seascapes

I stopped here as part of my trip around the north coast of Scotland. I hadn't booked and was delighted when the owners found a pitch for me and my small tent. It's a very popular site and it is easy to understand why. The site is secluded and surrounded by hills, sheep, cows and the sea. The owners are extremely kind and actually give a tour of the premises and show you to the pitch which is really helpful. The site has washing machines and tumblers for an extra charge with eco washing powder provided for free. Free phone charging points and wait for this .. hair straighteners and hair dryers for a small charge. An outside communal area with microwave and a kettle are available aswell. WOW. The premises stood out for the provision of desinfectent and instructions to make sure the site is covid secure.

A pair of binoculars was available to scan the sea for dolphines and a small shop at the entrance provides fresh fruit and veg and some basic supplies. The Scots Pies were delicious. Yum! At 8pm a, what I assume was a guest playing the bagpipes which was the perfect finish to a perfect day after watching the sun go down over the sea.

The sandy beach is only a short walk from the campsite and is great for relaxing and spotting dolphines. The site felt safe, peaceful and relaxed. And it literally was like coming home. Thank you for a fab couple of days.😊

We stayed here last week for two nights and everything about the site is 5 star. We had a wonderful welcome from the boys who made us feel like old friends. The site is in a beautiful location overlooking the beach and the weather was so hot and sunny when we were there it was like being on the Italian Rivera. The facilities are spotless and it was the best site in terms of trying to prevent COVID spreading by hand sanitisers, sanitiser sprays in each of the cubicles etc etc. We cant praise this site enough. We look forward to our next stay.

We camped for a week in July 2021 having previously visited for just a night the previous October.

The site is in a great location on the North West coast of Scotland. It was easy to get to by car with large trailer and the electric plot was large enough to get our huge tent, trailer and car on it. We had a great spot at the top of the sandy site partially sheltered by a bank.

The location is great, 200m or so from a sheltered sandy beach with clear blue water. The site itself is very family and dog friendly. The team there are also friendly and welcoming. We spoke to many other campers/caravaners that had been many times before.

The facilities included electricity and water at our pitch. The central facilities are also good and kept clean with lots of small ‘extras’ that show the place is run by people who have camped many times themselves.

The campsite has a small shop but the fabulous Flossie’s shop is only a short walk away too.

The weather was really good when we were there, but it is Scotland so be prepared for anything.

I would recommend wet suits and canoes/SUPs if you want to spend lots of time in the water. There is a campsite canoe that you can borrow too.

We had passed through Clachtoll a couple of times in the last few years & decided to try the camp site this year with our caravan. Came with my husband, 2 year old grandson & ShihTzu Ruby.

Booked in here initially for 3 nights however due to the location & excellent conditions of this site, decided to stay for an extra 2 nights. Came with ny husband & 2 year old grandson. Staff brilliant, very friendly & knowledgeable. Facilities excellent, immaculate toilet, shower, laundry & dishwashing areas. Communal meeting area was great. Lovely campfire & company. Generous camping/caravan plots. Very eco friiendly - washing & laundry liquids & clearly marked recycling bins. Enjoyed fresh fish from the mobile fish guy & lush food from Catch Toll Fish & Chip van. Site shop is small but had a few souvenir gifts, sweets, pop, fresh eggs & home made cakes which were reasonably priced but we had been made aware of this before we came so brought plenty of provisions. I have nothing negative at all to say. We loved our time here & were sad to leave but in the words of Arnie... We'll be back!!
Thank you Tom, Andy & families.

Beautiful location, friendly staff, huge pitch with water and electric. The owners could not have been more helpful when we realised we had left our adapter for the tap hose at our last stop and also lending us the tools for changing the gas bottle. We mainly used our own facilities as there were only a few showers/toilets due to covid restrictions and we wanted to leave those for the people who didn't have onboard facilities. A very short walk to the beautiful beach. We visited the shop in the morning for our cooked breakfast goods. What a find that was with really good quality stuff. Bought some eggs from the entrance. If we are in the area again we will be back.

The most beautiful beach and camp site of our whole north coast 500 trip. The owners are so friendly and accommodating aswell as informative. We have a 3 year old daughter and a husky dog who were well accommodated for on site, which wasn't the case at many others. The beach is a couple of minutes walk from the site and it is absolutely beautiful, white sand and gorgeous turquoise water, and zero litter. Clean showers and toilet facilities, a dog area with treats and water, cute little shop on site & BBQ area. Perfect stay, couldn't have wished for more from this site. Hopefully we will be able to return in the future and stay for more than one night!

This campsite has everything you need - my friend just about fainted when the staff listed off the facilities to her! There's : toilet and showering facilities, electrical points, beach 2 minute walk away, incredible views of sea, seating area, kitchen area and shop to buy needed amenities. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The one drawback is that for such a large site there are only two female showers. however, the staff were always on hand to open a third shower if a queue was building up which we were grateful for. The campsite was also very covid conscious as well with regular cleaning and sanitising available to residents.

Thanks so much for your wonderful review and we are pleased that you enjoyed the site so much as we are trying hard to give as much value as possible for everyone. We do open up the family room when the showers are busy and we are aware that this is an improvement that we are looking to make. Fortunately because our showers are hot all the time we do also suggest spacing the timings out where possible so there is no need to queue, particularly when it is busy at peak times. It would be great to see you back again when you can experience our improvements.

Stayed for 2 nights during our trip around the North of Scotland and this was one of the best sites we stayed on. We received a very friendly welcome (even a welcome treat for the dogs) and were shown around the site and facilities before being shown where our pitch was. The pitches are huge with plenty of space. Everywhere was spotless and facilities were excellent. What set this place apart from every other site though was the personal touches - sponges/washing up liquid at every sink, laundry powder, dog bar with drinking water and treats, fresh flowers in the toilets, wetsuits free to use, etc. There was a great area for campers too, with an open fire, festoon lighting and cooking facilities, a nice sociable space. Nice little shop at reception for ice creams, drinks etc and we even visited the fish van when he visited for Fresh fish to cook on the bbq.

Short walk to a stunning white sand beach which was perfect for swimming in as water was crystal clear. Will definitely stay again

The guys that run this place are spot on! Best campsite I’ve been too.
Outside sheltered area for cooking. Phone Charger lockers available.
Washers / driers. A room with a kettle & microwave.
Good pot wash rooms they even provide wash up liquid!
The beach is beautiful & worth a walk down too.
Convenience shop at front of site.
Note: we found Wifi works only when stood near reception area not that that was an issue to us.
Worth a stay here! Especially on our north coast 500 trip a nice place to stop off.
Quite a remote area ... a lovely one!

Well, we arrived a clachtoll on a rainy Saturday afternoon after a hair raising ride from kylesku in biblical rain! Very stressed!
A great welcome at reception and a good run down of how things worked along with sensible but not over the top covid safe measures! Facilities on the site are great for somewhere literally in the back end of beyond and the eco friendly aspect was refreshing to say the least, had a quick walk to the beach in the dying light....and I really don't think I've ever seen anywhere like it! We fell in love with the place even though we had the road side assist out all the way from ullapool in torrential rain at 11pm on a Saturday night!

I simply can't recommend this site enough....can't wait to get back....in slightly better weather hopefully!!

Yes but you can’t place them directly on the grass so need something to put them on. Alternatively, there is a covered area ( it’s open at the front) where you can use on them on the counter tops
