A comfortable guesthouse and self-catering apartment set in an unrivalled, unique location. Cosy rooms, B&B and evening meals available. Minimum booking two nights due to the remote location. Please note that Rua Reidh Lighthouse runs as private holiday accommodation only and is not open to the public. There is a public car park at Melvaig where people can park and enjoy a walk to the lighthouse, but the road to the lighthouse itself is private with no public right of vehicle access.

Staying here was amazing - wild, remote, peaceful. Certainly off the beaten track! Stayed in the first officers quarters which was clean, comfortable, rustic & cosy. The owner Susan & her son Keeva were excellent hosts & made sure we had everything we needed. We arrived to some delicious pastries left for us, were treated to a plate of fresh fruits & home made Spinach pies which were amazing. Keeva put me on to the Aurora app to track the Northern lights, but unfortunately we didn't see them, although they had been seen a few nights before we arrived. Would highly recommend staying here if you like somewhere very remote, surrounded by the sea!!

A truly enjoyable stay in a beautiful apartment. This is a great place off the beaten track ( literally! ) and feels so magical to actually stay in a lighthouse. Enjoyed spotting wildlife in the local area and there's an amazing walk from the lighthouse to a beautiful cove, with a walkers bothy near by to shelter in if the weather's bad. Dogs are welcome. Susan is a thoughtful and friendly host.

Truly magical one night stay. Lovely welcome from a lovely lady. Meal cooked for us was amazing. The best shower I’ve ever used and the view was unexplainable! Not cheap but worth every penny. (The drive there has a fearsome reputation but take your time and it’s fine).

A stunning and unique location, topped off by our host's (Susan F's.) warm welcome and gracious, unstinting hospitality throughout our stay. Ideally suited to those of a more independent nature who're looking for a remote and peaceful break where the sounds of the sea, the cries of seabirds and the occasional nonchalant baa from sheep break up the welcome silence. An ideal location to explore the wilder, less frequented areas of Wester Ross and beyond with countless photography, wildlife-spotting and hiking opportunities for the adventurous. The accommodation itself is spacious and well maintained with a fascinating history to discover. The facilities are practically a home from home; all the modern conveniences you'll need, belying the rustic ambiance of such a intriguing location. Alas, the tower itself is out-of-bounds due to being a working lighthouse, as patrons will soon discover if they venture out at night. There's basic wi-fi via a 4G dongle and the EE/BT network for mobile reception. The single-track approach road twists and clings to the cliffs providing a memorable drive, whether you're leaving for the metropolis delights of Gairloch or returning to your temporary sanctuary. My wife and I had a truly relaxing and memorable stay and almost wore our camera out (and our hiking legs) before we had to reluctantly leave Rua Reidh Lighthouse and our host, Susan F. We're already planning a return trip. Highly, highly recommended for those of the right disposition.…

We spent 3 days here. What a dream come true. This is been one of the best vacations we have ever taken. We stayed in the Hide, which is its own apartment. It is very well designed, very original, linens and towels were great. Fully equipped kitchen. Beautiful scenery and we had a sensational view of the ocean breaking on huge rocks right in front of us. We spent hours sitting and watching the waves, which you can hear and feel. So exciting. Susan cooked dinner for us the day we arrived and the day we left. Unbelievably good! Susan is a fantastic person, very friendly and deeply cares for your well being. She has done such a great job with the lighthouse and the rooms. In our room, we had coffee, tea, granola, yogurt, fresh bread, eggs, milk, butter, jams, cheese plate, pastries, silverware, dishes, pots, pans and many more amenities. We took walks and just enjoyed the solitude. I can't get over how beautiful the scenery there is and staying in a lighthouse. Just driving along the road to get there was a great experience.…

What can I say, what a wonderful experience we had! Susan and Kiva the owners were an absolute delight and made the visit the best we have experienced. The lighthouse accommodation was top notch, a home from a home and had everything you could need to enjoy a secluded, relaxed and enjoyable time away. The Officers Quarters were so unique and have been furbished in a way that retains the original character of the building. Amazing We would highly recommend as a go to destination, one not to be missed.

A dream came true. The location of Rua Reidh Lighthouse is fantastic and offers pure nature and solitude. Susan and Kiva run the B&B very lovingly down to the smallest detail. The rooms, especially the old generator room, are cosy, tastefully and comfortably furnished. Everything was ready for our breakfast and the fridge was filled with everything we could want. Not to mention the very tasty chicken pot for dinner. Everything was just great. We thank Susan and Kiva for their fantastic hospitality. We will come back!

My partner and I, along with our 2 dogs, spent a brilliant week in the Officer's Quarters at the beginning of June. The 'shabby chic' decor was just so appropriate to the surroundings and the level of comfort was definitely not compromised. The peace and quiet and simply breathtaking views were just wonderful, making for a really relaxing stay. Susan and Kiva were excellent hosts, being genuinely friendly and interested in our comfort and wellbeing. Both are really knowledgeable about the local area and able to make excellent recommendations on places to visit. The sweet pastry treats Susan left out for our arrival were just delicious! We would definitely book here again if we travel back to this area!

This is a long overdue review. We had the good fortune to book to stay and so meet Susan, the owner and her son, Kivah. Problems with our vehicle meant we were only able to stay one night- but they did everything they could to help us with our difficulties, and were warm, welcoming, and very friendly. Hospitality couldn't be bettered and the food was amazing. If you have a opportunity to stay, take it, you will be glad that you did.
