We stayed at The Eliot Arms over Bank Holiday weekend with our daughter. Sue and her team made us feel so welcome - as the saying goes, we arrived as strangers and left as friends. The rooms are simple, clean & comfortable and food is great; proper home-cooked dishes, served with a smile. We really hope to return one day!

Hi , would like to say what a wonderful warm, inviting welcome we received when we stopped by for a drink, we also wanted to ask about family history, the landlady and her daughter went to great lengths to help us , even phoning people to see if they could help. You made us feel so welcome a true gem... More

What do you do when friends enthusiastically recommend a place and you join them there for a meal, only to be very very disappointed? That was our experience here today. We took the teactful way out and said nothing, but boy oh boy we could have caused them serious embarrassment. Full marks for the friendly welcome and the warning that... More

Went there on a flyer, lovely friendly country pub. True basic menu not varied but special board more than made up for it. The food was sumptuous and made even better by the exceptional homemade sauces of sue & Courtney. No sachets of pre packaged sauces here, but with very reasonable prices. Really friendly staff offering advice on the area.... More

Visiting St Germans we popped in on our first night. Lovely warm welcome. The lovely girl on the bar/waitressing was rushed off her feet but didn't stop smiling all night and was really cheerful. Our portions were generous, I had the whitebait starter and it was huge! Other food was good, kids enjoyed it although I don't think there is... More

Thank you for your lovely comments . This is one of our busiest times of the year with the port Eliot festival so it's great to know that you had a good visit . You are correct in saying that we do not have a specific children's menu but we do smaller portions of quite a few of our meals... More

Lovely and characterful pub in attractive and typically Cornish village. Received a very friendly welcome for us and our dog ( free treats ), from the lovely young barmaid. We enjoyed our drinks in this quirky old pub and it would definitely rate four stars if the food was better. We had reasonably priced dishes but lasagne was overdone making... More

This is a typical 'old fashioned' country pub, with a very friendly and welcoming landlady. We were staying nearby and went in a couple of times where we were made welcome by the locals who sat in their 'own' seats in a row at the bar! The food looked good and was reasonably priced. The people who were staying there... More

Popped into my friends' new local for a pub dinner and was quite impressed; the menu albeit small was very varied and immediately stated that gluten free fish and chips was available, amazing. Even better than that, the chef came over and said if we didn't mind waiting she could even do a gluten free lasagne! That's an extremely rare... More
