We absolutely loved our week long stay in The Garden Room. Emma and Paul are so welcoming and attentive to all your needs, you are made to feel special and the enjoyment of your holiday is very important to them. The house is very tastefully decorated with all your modern comforts without compromising on the original character of the house. The terrace and pool area are just lovely and is where you will spend much of your time, whether you love the sun or the shade, there is seating and sun beds for all. We spent our days out exploring, then our evenings with a bottle of wine on the terrace, chilling and star gazing, with only the occasional sound of an owl, bliss. Fabulously located to visit Cognac, Pons, Saintes, Jonzac, St Jean d’Angely and the coast. Had a fabulous day on Ile d’Oleron, the beaches on the Atlantic side are miles of hard sand and still uncommercial. We would highly recommend a stay here and will definitely be back ourselves!

We stayed with Emma and Paul at Logis de l'Arceau for three nights and had a wonderful time. The venue is very comfortable and our hosts were very welcoming and helpful when we had some car issues!! The room was lovely with an ensuite bathroom and mosquito blinds!! The pool area was wonderful to sit around and we had drinks there several evenings The breakfast was really fabulous, attention to detail and Emma cared about what we liked and didn't like, changing the offering each morning We will definitely be going back!

We stay in many bed and breakfast places due to our work, and whenever that brings us to Cognac, we choose Logis de l’Arceau for our stay. Emma and Paul are wonderful hosts, for whom nothing is too much trouble to ensure a comfortable stay in their beautiful home. They help with places to visit and to dine, and ready to help with bookings and other local needs. Rooms are very comfortable and well appointed and breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Guest facilities include a salon with tv and pool table, kitchen with fridge / freezer (but no cooking facilities), outdoor terrace and heated swimming pool. There is also a barbecue, for which Paul is the one to speak to. We’ll be back at the earliest opportunity!

The Logis was more than expected with very warming hosts, who couldn't do enough for you. The rooms are very roomy with extra king size beds and very nice large bathroom. Breakfast were better than a normal continental one, more English meets continental. There is a communal lounge with TV, pool and plenty of books. Outside is a pool with relaxing area. The area is very quiet and is surrounded by Grapevines for the production of Cognac. We found a lovely restaurant in Saintes to eat but I cannot remember the name. We visited Saintes, Cognac and Talmont-sur-Gironde which was a very charming little village with narrow winding streets and various places to eat.

From the start we were warmly welcomed by Paul and Emma, who gave us a tour of the building, told us to make ourselves at home. Later went for a welcoming drink and a chat. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a lovely super king size bed and large shower. The windows have all got mosquito nets enabling you to have them wide open with no issues with insects etc. There is a large swimming pool and terrace to sit and relax on. There is also a kitchen for use by the guests and a communal lounge with TV if required. There was a variety of goods for Breakfast, more than your average Continental breakfast. Paul and Emma also advised us of places of interest. You would have to go a long way to find a Boutique Hotel to beat this. Well done keep up the good work.

Beautiful small B&B run by the most friendly and lovely couple, Emma and Paul. They made us feel so welcome and helped us with everything we needed and more. The room we stayed in was on the top floor and it was lovely and comfortable (albeit a bit hot, but we felt the fan helped immensely). The pool area was beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. There’s a very well equipped little gym and bicycles available for riding. It’s everything we needed.

We had a wonderful weekend away with friends and Emma & Paul were the most amazing hosts. I have a gluten allergy and Emma went out of her way to make sure I had a variety of gluten free food for breakfast. The place is fabulous, the bedrooms & en-suite decorated to a high standard, and was spotless. There is an amazing pool area, sun beds, gym and pool table. Such a wonderful experience and it was a pleasure to meet Emma & Paul. Would highly recommend.

We spent the weekend with friends whilst attending a wedding locally and the whole experience was outstanding, Paul and Emma were so welcoming, their accommodation was immaculately presented and they were the perfect hosts, nothing ever a problem and made our stay feel so wonderful, it's felt like 5 star luxury throughout and we would thoroughly recommend everyone who is planning a visit to this area to book here. Thank you and hope to see you again x

The phrase “Needle in a Haystack” is hackneyed but rings true when talking about the superb accommodation on offer at “Logis De L’Arceau” We were looking for a short break following a long dark winter in the UK, and we certainly found the needle here. I am normally cynical about these reviews but can honestly say I recognise the qualities that others have mentioned in their testaments. Firstly, it is only a short hop from Gatwick to Bordeaux and about an hour's drive from the airport. As others have testified the accommodation is exemplary and the location is relaxed and tranquil. Our huge bedroom with (possibly) the largest bed I have ever seen was worthy of a 5-star Hotel. The bathroom had a powerful shower separate bath, W.C. and wash hand basin. The rooms also offer tea and coffee making facilities. Emma provided a healthy continental style breakfast with croissant, fresh fruit with yoghurt (Yummy!!) and the all-important Coffee and Fresh Fruit Juice. Everything was immaculate, the property has been beautifully and sensitively restored and includes a gym and games room (including Table Tennis) together with bicycles if you want to explore further afield. We visited the local towns of Cognac and Saintes and spent a day at the coast. If there is one downside it is that Paul needs to level the Pool Table as the balls do not run true if you play a gentle shot! That is why I lost to him!!! Apart from that we cannot fault the place and returned to the U.K. fully relaxed and refreshed. If we went later in the season, we would have used their large heated open-air pool and southwest facing sun terrace! We will be going back. We would like to give more but “Logis De L’Arceau” is definitely worth 5 out 5 Stars.

From the moment we arrived we felt immediately at home, Emma & Paul are superb hosts whose attention to detail is exemplary. Our room was not only beautifully decorated but had one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. Great bathroom and everywhere spotlessly clean too. Quite simply they have thought of everything including a lovely lounge area with TV to relax in. It was too early in the season for the pool area to be open but clear to see that this too is a great area for guests to use in the summer months. As for the breakfast - worthy of 5 stars, presented beautifully and a lovely choice of pastries, bread, jams, cereals, juices and fresh fruit. We cannot rate this Accomodation more highly and have already booked more stays.
