Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a lovely stay. Clean toilets and hot showers, what more do you want for £15 a night?! Cars from the road were a little noisy, but we knew where we were going and that it was next to a road so fully prepared for it. Large pitches, clean site! Would happily return!

We visited this pub a few years ago and decided to stay one night this week before we moved on to suffolk. Our decision was based on being able to have a meal there. It was a surprise that we were the only ones staying there! Mind you the price £35 is far too high. When we went to eat at 7.10 that evening we were told no more food orders. I had no food in my fridge as we knew we could eat there. We were gobsmacked. The staff were all working hard but seemed to be rushing around. The pub was closed before 9pm. The toilet/showers are rather basic. For a Caravan and Camping site it is very disappointing. Never again.

Lovely little pitches but right next to the road. Would have been even noisier if we had been in a tent. The shower/toilet area is very tired and looked dirty. The shower curtains were dirty and orange stained. (Cost of a new shower curtain would have been minimal). The pub served great food with plenty of it. Not sure if we spoke to the land lady but she wasn't very welcoming and we went in twice. The young waitress that is studying was very friendly, polite and very accommodating. The walk to the beech is through a field and takes about 15-20 mins. Another 10-15 min walk along the beech and there is a lovely cafe/restaurant with great food and the best hot chocolate.

Nice small site at the back of a good pub. Next to the road which is quite busy first thing so if you like peace and quiet perhaps not for you. Only one m/f shower/toilet so if someone is having a shower first thing you can’t use the loo. Good Wi-Fi and great value. Pub food good and staff dishwashing. Lots of taps and pitches with electric, all very friendly and welcoming and genuinely dog friendly.

Stayed here for a week recently and sadly cannot recommend the site for a weeks holiday. It would be fine for an overnight or couple of nights stop. Main complaint was the busy road just the other side of the hedge, ok if you’re in a motor home but very noisy when you’re camping. The traffic starts at 4am! I picked my pitch only to find men working right nearby . Why it wasn’t suggested I use a different pitch when I booked Is beyond me as I was the only camper. Shower/ toilet facilities will be a problem in holiday season as there’s one loo and shower each for me and women and if someone’s in the loo you can’t use the shower. You might need wellies to use the ladies as there was always a puddle on the floor. Very level, clean pitches , look like they might be close together when all full. Sorry, cannot recommend.

1st time back at Walcott for many years. Main complaint has to be the toilets, 1 male 1 female , wife complained that the floor was always swimming in water, male also wet, even just after they had been serviced. The male toilet was blocked at 7am Saturday, couldnt find anyone to report it to. We arrived and all the pitches were in use, booked in at the pub, told which pitch left to find it ourselves. Pub shut for food from 4pm Sunday, reopened Wednesday 11.30am, no contact details if there was a problem, see above. Workman appeared on the Monday morning and started to dig a trench behind the caravan pitches, no warning. The people on the pitch next to me had a tent pitch right on the edge of my pitch, so I had move away from his tent, for fire safety. Had to make a bit of hose up to wash out both the Thetford, and the waste water container. Overall poor, wont be back I am afraid. C&C club need to make an inspection.

Pros: lovely soft flat clover grass made pitching our tent really easy Ten minute walk to the sea Pub next door is quiet Free WiFi Lovely flowers in the borders Washing up liquid and toilet roll/hand towels provided Cheap Cons: lack of toilets! There is only one female toilet and one male toilet and the shower is in the same space so if someone is showering you can’t use the toilet! Even though the site wasn’t full, everyone had to wait ages to use the facilities. One time I tried 10 times before it was free! Most tent pitches far too close together No recycling facilities at all Very strong unpleasant smell of drains/toilets outside the toilet block No information provided at the site (no contact info etc) No fire extinguishers etc as far as we could tell When we arrived it wasn’t clear where we should go to book in so I ended up knocking on the pub kitchen door (although the man who then helped me was very nice) So overall, we give it 4/10.

Wow, great camping & motor home site. Very clean, electric hook up, 10/15 minutes walk to the beach. The lighthouse inn restaurant is truly amazing, food is all homemade & delicious, Sunday roast was divine, best Sunday roast I’ve had out, for £10 or £12. The staff go above & beyond to make you feel so welcome. I will definitely be returning, thank you for a lovely May bank holiday break, just what I needed.
