Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at Nelsons patch for 3 nights. what a great site this is next door to a pub which serves good beer and food I must say you wouldn’t know the lighthouse pub was there as we didn’t hear any noise from there and we stayed on a weekend. The pitches are a great size with water and waste on every pitch free Wi-Fi and when the pitches are really established with the borders it will be even better. We will defiantly be returning some great walks start from the site. It doesn’t have any facility’s as yet as they are still waiting for the planning permission, but this wasn’t an issue for us as we use are own. The Owner is lovely and very helpful.

What a wonderful place to visit. Would recommend this park to everyone. We had a wonderful large hardstanding pitch which included water, waste disposal and 16amp electric. It has wifi and a pub next door so not far to crawl back. It's totally enclosed so if you have dogs or children you can have total peace of mind. Steve the propieter is the most helpful and friendliest person I've met in a long time. It's also a 10 minute walk to the beach along a path away from the road. Thank you Steve we will see you again soon.Dave and Angie.

A friendly well organised relaxing Motorhome,Campervan and Caravan site. Best to be self contained as no showers or toilets available. Fresh water, Electric and Grey waste point all included on your pitch. Chemical waste point by the Enterance. ANPR Camera at entrance will recognise your pre booked registration plate. Friendly pub next door to site, food was so good we are returning for Christmas. A 15 minute walk from the site takes you on a off the road walk to the wonderful Walcott beach. In the opposite direction a 40 minute walk takes you to Beautifull village of Happisburgh

I discovered this site on google and the website looked really promising and professional. I even enjoyed reading about Nelson and the concept of all the pitches being named after boats is a quirky feature. Unfortunately for me I overlooked the facilities, well there isn’t any to overlook. I presumed being a holiday park this would have basic facilities, which are normally include Toilets and showers. With two small children on board, and after an action packed day on the beach, this would of been the reason for staying at a site. I could of saved £24 and joined the ten+ motorhomes on Walcott sea front for the night. With these basic facilities being common with all campsites and holiday parks across Norfolk and throughout the UK a fair warning for no toilets and showers would be considerate on the website. Luckily I had a functional toilet with me and we have survived enough festivals to manage without showers. But like the website says, it says nothing about toilets and showers, so don’t make my mistake and make general assumptions.
The site was easy to find and very well laid out, it’s very new and lots of trees and shrubs to get established which will offer private pitches. The site is still very unfinished, I understand planning has been granted for facilities. Hopefully this will be done soon and it will be a very nice site.
The electric points are on every pitch and each have there own tap. There is also lots of CCTV which is a good thing, but when walking back from the bins in the morning, the more I noticed the cameras the more it felt very “big brother”, they are tall and very urban looking, the sort of thing you see around a prison or a secure MOD site. The ANPR system seems like a good idea for gate access, unfortunately mine wasn’t recognised, I resorted to trawling my emails for the code.
I personally won’t be staying here again, the CCTV kind of creeped me out, but please don’t take this as a negative, it’s just not for me. If you have a self sufficient vehicle/caravan and would like a safe environment to stay then this is ideal for you. The pitches are a good size, well spread out and are very level. also it’s got a good pub on its door step.

Thank you Neil for your comments. Just a few years ago this site was a field growing potatoes, and we have invested many multiples of tens of thousands of pounds so far investing in the infrastructure required (much of it underground and not seen) to provide the facilities and services which the modern holidaymaker requires - drainage, water, electricity, wi-fi, waste disposal and so on - and planting trees, plants, wildflowers, grass, hedging to make one's stay here relaxing and enjoyable. All of this has been done with no help from the Council, who have, as you correctly observe, a major problem on Walcott seafront of illegal overnight parking by many motorhomes, and destruction of their public toilets by those motorhomers emptying their chemical waste in them. We have applied for planning permission to provide a toilet and shower block on Nelson's Patch, and we are still awaiting the grant of this permission, so we are unable to supply these facilities at this time, sorry for the inconvenience caused by this. It has taken a frustrating 18 months of delays, shortages of equipment, service and materials to get to where we are today, and we are still waiting for Openreach to lay one crucial cable to enable our ANPR entry system to be fully functional, but we know that our workaround has been successful, providing a feeling of security for those staying on site that nobody can come on the site without prior permission. CCTV cameras are a basic fact of modern life, keeping costs down by reducing insurance premiums, and giving comfort to our guests who are leaving their expensive vehicles on site while they go off to explore the beautiful Deep History Coast and the other wonderful attractions of the area where Nelson went to school before becoming the UK's most famous Admiral. We hope that as the site develops and shrubs and plants around the bases, these will make their presence much 'softer'. They certainly are not intended to be intrusive or 'big brotherish', just to add security to the site (something else you don't get by flouting the law when staying overnight on the seafront). We will continue to work on and improve the site this winter and in the years to come to try to help everyone by making Nelson's Patch the obvious 'must stay' site when visiting this area, allowing the passing traffic on the seafront to enjoy the beautiful vista of beach and sea as it passes unobstructed along the road, We are open every day of the year, with many pitches from just £10 in the off-season, which hopefully will enable guests to get a break at very affordable prices and maybe even tempt you back!

Superb relatively new small caravan and motorhome park near to the small seaside town of Walcott.

All services are on the pitch and there is a black waste point near the entrance.

Booking done online and ANPR to open the gate when you arrive. Flat pitches all named after the ships that took place in the Battle of Trafalgar. We chose Dreadnought or pitch 13!

The site is planted with bushes that will grow to afford some privacy as they mature. Dog friendly.

The road s quite busy in the day especially around "going home time" in the afternoon but quiet overnight.

Really clean, tidy and well organised site. Generally quiet, although there is some noise from the road it certainly quietens down in the evening.
The pub nextdoor wasn't the best, felt more like a cafe, we preferred The Poachers Pocket which is on the seafront just 10 minutes walk up the road, the seafront there is huge too - miles and miles of dog-friendly sandy beach.

Our second stay at Nelsons Patch which is a great site if you are self sufficient. It’s a lovely small site of approximately 20 pitches which was edged in daffodils during our stay this time. Had great walks along the cliffs to Happisburgh and the surrounding area. The owner Steve is a nice helpful man. The site is next to a pub which is great if you want to pop in for a pint or a meal.

What a fabulous find. We wanted a site near the beach in October so we could let our dog (Riff-Raff) have some fun on the beach. This site is a little patch of nature. The pitches all have water and electricity. They are also a perfect size. Norfolk coastal path walks where absolutely beautiful, lovely clean beach and as an added bonus a pub just next door. Lots of little shops in the village.
Will definitely be visiting again.
