My husband and I travelled the day after Thanksgiving and stayed here on the Suites side for 5 nights. We have never been to a true all inclusive except a lousy cruise so we didn't really know what to expect. You will get an Hola every time you pass a staff member which was really nice. We had read you need to make your dinner reservations as soon as you arrive. We arrived earlier than check in time and our room wasn't ready so we tried to make reservations and they said our concierge wasn't working that day and he would be in the next day. It was kind of frustrating because I didn't want to wait until the day of to make my reservations because I was afraid there wouldn't be any. I guess I didn't understand why no one else covered his people who were checking in, on his day off. Oh well, but another couple was having the same issue and we ended up making friends with them and hung out with them most of the time so things turned out how they were supposed to.
The suites side is like a high rise building facing the ocean with a river-like pool going across the front of all the floors except the bottom floor which goes into the main pool. They were definitely too cold to swim in when we were there in November but the thought it nice and something different. We couldn't go out on our porch very much because the people next to us were always smoking so that was a bummer. We stayed on the 4th floor so we had a view of the ocean over the palm trees. That was the highest floor we could stay on without jumping to a different room category. The rooms were nice and updated. They had a large shower, a jacuzzi tub and comfy beds. Now the pillows are a different story. They are so lofty and thick you will get a serious neck ache. We asked about different pillows and we got some that were a little better but not the thin squishy ones we have at home.
The first night was the Mexican night with a mariachi band and another way to meet people because we were seated at large round table with other people. Everyone we met was very nice and welcoming and helpful since it was our first time there. On the suites side is the large pool and restaurant open for breakfast and lunch. Luisa, the waitress at the big pool is so sweet. I will say Driftwood was where we didn't have great service, just slow and not as attentive. There are a few food carts down there where you can pick up a piece of pizza or get some ice cream without having to be seated. We wish there was more food on the suites side but we enjoy walking and got over 10k steps every day. I didn't get a little hangry one day because we had gone on an excursion and come back as all the lunch places were closing at 4-5 and our dinner reservation wasn't until 830. There isn't anywhere to just grab a quick snack, only room service or the seaside buffet where you have to be seated. I ended up ordering room service and it was just what I needed, super tasty! I had the veggie burger and my husband had the mexican pizza.
We loved how there were spots you could chill and relax or take part in the many activities they had going on all over the property. The palms side looks more like jungle with condo type buildings and a great beach. The beach is a little quiet for younger people. I enjoyed the breeze and the waves but my husband would've like some music over there. I will say, when you're booking on the Palms side, look at the map and keep your room away from the Guacamayas bar if you don't want Dj music until late. We thoroughly enjoyed the silent disco and moonlight circus and all the bands and dj they had after the shows at the Guacamayas bar. Bali beds and beach chairs are plentiful and not an extra charge like at some resorts. There are some rocky parts in the water that can't be helped so you may want sandals or water shoes. They keep the beach free of seaweed and rocks. Make sure you find The Frontera Bar hidden beneath the palm trees just past the swings in the water! We walked down the beach a little bit and past Unico which is supposed to be a top adults only in the area. Their beach area had regular beach umbrellas that were mostly broken and did not look inviting at all. I was very happy with our Bali beds and palapas. We didn't tip on every drink and we weren't treated any differently. It is always appreciated when you do.
Breakfast was the best at the Seaside Buffet. We did not have dinner at the buffet but ate at most of the restaurants. The portions are quite small but that's the good thing about AI and the presentation is beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous and well kept, there are always people working and cleaning. There are fabulous picture opportunities all over and someone is always willing to help you with a pictures. yes, there are some broken tiles in the pools but we weren't worried about that. There is a sports bar we found out about on the last day because it was raining and also a bar on the 4th floor of the suites side that is closed. We played pool in there because the door was open but it would be great if they put more pool tables in there and some board games and it was a game room for a rainy day.
I would say the average age of the people was around 45 but there was younger and older and everyone hung out together and had a good time. We haven't done enough traveling and been to enough places to come back here in the near future but if we ever get to that point we would definitely come back to this resort.

My sisters and I had a fantastic vacation, From the moment we stepped off the plane, Lomas Travel had a private shuttle luxury to resort, front seat had a massage chair, back seat had 2 movie screens wow.
When we arrived at the resort, it was dark and late, The check-in was fast, friendly, and she gave us a map of property, and sent the golf cart to take us to the Seaside Market for dinner, where the food was very good. Afterwards went to our room. The room was very large, there were 3 of us and only one King bed, they said would get us another bed. We were trying to decide which of us was going to sleep in the roll-a-way, but, they actually put another King bed in the room, wow, how nice was that. Juan, the person who cleaned our room, did a fantastic job. We always had enough towels, wash cloths, bottled water, mini fridge stocked, great job.
Every morning we would order room service the night before,to have delivered at 730am, and each morning 7:30am sharp our Coffee, and pastries were there. On our last day we had to leave hotel at 3:30am, and a 3am sharp our coffee was delivered.

The service and workers were impeccable.
Manuel, the person in charge of the beach area by the Driftwood restaurant was spot on, making sure we had everything we needed from towels, to books etc. He would also bring a tray with snacks or deserts everyday. Geraldo came around many times during the day to serve drinks. They both got to know us very well, we didn't even need to tell them what we wanted they just knew, from the times before.
We ate lunch at the Driftwood res. for lunch everyday. They have a choice of buffet or a la carte. All food was very good. Fernando always waited on us, and also knew what we drank, he would just ask " the usual" :).
Each day they would have an activity at the beach, Coconut painting, spanish class, and mix drink class with Yemy. I loved the margarita she taught us to make. It was made the usual way but had small pieces of grapefruit in it, and lemon juice instead of lime. I had to have 2 of those they were so good.
All in all we would definitely go back.

We came for a four night stay right after Thanksgiving and chose to stay in the Palms section of the resort since reviews had stated it was quieter. This building only recently reopened in early November so there weren't very many rooms in use. We were assigned one of the top floor rooms with views of the water and also down to a pool at the base of the building. The room was a nice size with a large bathroom containing both a good-sized shower, a two person jacuzzi tub, and a heated floor in the toilet area. We thought the bed was comfortable and enjoyed having beer, sodas and snacks in our minibar that were refilled daily. Our building had a concierge office located beside it, and we stopped there daily to make dinner reservations and ask questions. We especially enjoyed the friendly service from Giselle. The resort felt very COVID-safe since the staff were all wearing both masks and face shields, and we saw them continually cleaning the common areas. The beach area on the Palms side of the resort is nice, but the water doesn't get much more than waist deep in the area where they have installed wave barriers. We saw a few fish while snorkeling, but this resort isn't known for that feature.

We enjoyed spending time at the pool bar at the base of our building. Both the bartender and waitress were excellent and suggested fun drinks for us to try. We enjoyed eating at as many restaurants as possible during our four nights. The food was overall very good. The only issue was that the portion sizes were highly variable so we never knew exactly how many courses/items to order. Dining highlights included: a special hot stone seafood soup (not listed on the menu) and grilled octopus at the Culinarium, street tacos and ice cream (both not listed on the menu) for lunch at Driftwood, the Thai Spicy Shrimp wok entree at Klay Talay, a breakfast soft taco [called "stew"] at the Seaside Market with an amazing green salsa, and some very tender veal at Mia Casa (Italian). We ate lunch several days at the Beachside Barbecue. The beach dining there was beautiful, but the service was very slow.

The selections at the bars included top shelf liquors. Upon arrival, we were offered champagne which helped offset the very slow check-in process which could use some improvement. During our dinners at Klay Talay [Asian] and Mia Casa [Italian], when we inquired about sake and wine options, the wait staff initially offered options that were an additional cost. When we asked if there were any "house" options, we discovered that there was a "house" sake and both white & red wines at no additional cost.

Me and the Mrs stayed at the El Dorado Seaside Suites for 10 nights in February 2020. The hotel is immaculate, the ground staff are constantly keeping the place spotless. Every person you meet or bump into has a smile on their face and it makes for such a nice experience.

We stayed in one of the Swim-Up Junior Suites and it was perfect. After a day at the beach or off doing excursions, we came back and just relaxed in the pool, with its own swim-up bar. The rooms were a good size, with a huge Jacuzzi tub, although we didn't use that too much.

Room service was really nice too, we arrived relatively late on our first night so just ordered room service and it arrived in less than half an hour and it was delicious. Mini Bar in the room was restocked every day too.

The variety of restaurants on the resort are really good, the Mexican as you would expect was a real highlight.

There are a couple of people who made our trip amazing. Marta (Martha) not sure but she worked on the beach and brought us drinks all day and was just the nicest person, so friendly.

On the beach, there is a shack where you can organise excursions. Irvin (will add pictures) organised a night for me and the Mrs to visit Coco Bongo's in Playa Del Carmen and it was honestly the best night out we have ever had. The prices for the excursions booked through Irvin and his team are the same, if not cheaper than booking through the TUI Rep at the front of the hotel, and for literally the same experience. The coaches that take you to and from the hotel are shared between the TUI guests and the guests just booking directly with Irvin.

We have booked to come to go back again in March 2020 (if the world is back to normal) and we really can't wait!

We haven't done an all-inclusive holiday like this in many years and were truly blown away with the quality of service. The resort had so many things to offer but most of all it provided a relaxing atmosphere which is what we were after.
The food was of really good quality and we ate somewhere different every evening. Day time food options were also good with a great outside restaurant beside the bar. Although there were long queues to get in on some days.
The resort surprised us consistently with things such as the Pop Up Fish n Chips bar beside the Chess Court and the Ice Cream Bar near the pool. The drinks were international with a comprehensive variety and all the bars were resourceful with the choice of cocktails and drinks.
The room service was excellent. We asked for a very early breakfast before we went on a trip and it was delivered hot, on-time and with smiles.
We had great room with with a dedicated Concierge opposite who was really informative and helpful.
The resort is located very close to Playa de Carmen which is a really good night out with Tulem just 15/20 minutes in the opposite direction.
We came for relaxation and found it. On top of that as we said earlier the service was the icing on the cake.

With all of the other hotels in the greater Cancun area, this resort is a little past its prime and doesn’t prioritize service/upkeep. They are a little unorganized. We luckily upgraded rooms to the top floor because we traveled during the slow season so it wasn’t too expensive. I’m glad we did because any floor below the top floor isn’t as nice and the views are super constricted. For the price of this resort you can go to nicer places with better beaches. I also say it’s NOT worth the hour and fifteen minute drive from the Cancun airport. It was my husband’s birthday and our concierge told us there would be a special treat in our room, but that never happened. Concierge did nothing he said he was going to do, including ridding our room of ants (ants were all over the coffee station upon arrival). We also paid extra to have a private ride back to the airport at a time of our choosing, and when it was time to leave the staff pretended we never upgraded our transportation/fought with us that we still needed to leave extremely early.
Other than that, the resort is pretty quiet which was nice. Room service was pretty fast and good food. The beach area staff were GREAT and VERY accommodating. Service from Manuel, Gaby, David, Claudia, and Yeni around the pool/ beach beds were the best part of our trip. They were very professional and helpful.

Arrived on 13 January in the evening quick and easy check in. Golf shuttle took us to the room we stayed in the premium swim up room 105. Sharim was our personal concierge and was lovely and very helpful, booking restaurants and advising us of my birthday meal on the beach.Staff were amazing on my birthday placing a banner on our room door room service breakfast , candlelit dinner on the beach ,decorating the bed with flowers and a towel cake and filling the jacuzzi for when we got back in the evening.
All restaurants were amazing , we had an amazing time in the Italian el Caso where Miguel gave us perfect service and great knowledge of wines he was very attentive.
Gourmet pub is fab portion sizes are huge. Mexican restaurant was also amazing where Jose looked after us and delivered an amazing service.we ate at the beach bbq for lunch most days and this was fab for light lunch salads. The timeless dinner on the beach is well worth doing this is at an extra cost but well worth it.
We booked a couples spa which was amazing we did the hydrotherapy first and Miriam was lovely explaining each step. We then went for the treatment with Layde and Cynthia who were amazing lovely ladies highly recommend felt proper spoilt and relaxed. Can be a little pricey but you do get a $50 voucher off .
During our second week we upgraded and moved into the palm section and were given a ruby presidential suite. We had butler service who were very attentive to all our needs and organised tea and coffee at 8 o’clock every morning. Filled the jacuzzi up on request laid beach towels everyday in the garden area . Our butlers were artorio and Ivan.
My highlight was spending our days on the beach on a cabana organised daily by Erbie who was also amazing saving us a cabana and decorating it with flowers for my birthday . Providing towels, iced water , iced fruit and pizza slices.Martha was our beach waitress who kept us supplied with drinks constantly lovely lady .
Every Wednesday there is a Mexican fiesta evening where all the stops are pulled the staff work so hard to transform the square in front of the lobby which takes all day, providing amazing food and drinks and traditional Mexican entertainment.
We were invited to the Gala dinner where we met other member guests , an amazing evening service food and entertainment was outstanding.

Overall outstanding and will be returning next January 2021

My husband and I stayed at the El Dorado Seaside suits at the end of January into February for one absolutely amazing week. This resort far surpassed our expectations. The rooms were beautiful and large with a Jacuzzi tub. Our view was spectacular with a pool right off our balcony. We have stayed in Mexico many times and we have never had food like we did here. We highly recommend the Culinarium, Gourmet Pub and Sandwicherie (the pizzas here are to die for). Above all the staff at the El Dorado go above and beyond to make sure your stay is more than you can ever hope for. Azael and Manuel (apologies if my spelling is wrong) made us feel like we were the only people in the resort, making sure we had an amazing spot on the beach and bally bed every morning. We were there during Super Bowl and the set up was a perfect way to end our night. Our waiter Sergio (who also served us at Mia Casa) made sure our drinks never went below half before bringing us a refill. It was a cooler night this night and he even went out of his way to bring us towels to wrap up in. The grounds of the facility are spotless. Porfirio worked the beach while we were there. The beach was immaculate and you could tell how much pride he took in his work, he always greeted us will a smile and a wave everyday. These are just a few that made our trip the best we have had, but every staff we came in contact with were wonderful and friendly.
Of course there are a couple con's but with that being said I would go back in a heartbeat and does not change my review of this amazing resort. The pools could be warmer. I wish we were able to use the one off our room but it was just to cold. The AC unit in our room was really cold, you have to keep it on to stop the moisture in the room. House keeping always brought extra blankets when we asked.
We will definitely be back!

We stayed at El Dorado Seaside Suites at the end of July through to the beginning of August 2020. 10/10 WILL stay there again. Here’s a bit about our experience of El Dorado Seaside Suites during COVID.
First of all there seemed to be under 100 guests during our entire stay. This means no fighting for reservations at restaurants, no waiting for drinks at bars, no fighting for beach bali beds, etc. We were treated like rock stars the entire trip.
Not all of the restaurants were open every night - some stayed closed the whole trip - but we don’t feel we missed out on anything as it seems they incorporated aspects of closed restaurants’ menus into menus of open ones. We loved the Asian restaurant (Klay Talay) the most, and managed to eat there three times during our stay while still eating at every other restaurant AND attending their special Mexican Fiesta dinner on Friday.
COVID protections were fantastic. I felt safer there than I do back in the states as I write this. Luggage was sanitized upon arrival, hand sanitizer was given at every meal, there was a one couple per elevator rule with required hand sanitizer on board the elevator, all workers wore a mask, all food service workers wore a mask and a face shield, they seated us more than 6 feet apart from other couples at dinner, and at random intervals during the day I would see them sanitizing entire bars and other areas including and every seat.
Not all tours are available right now, but we managed to go zip lining, ATVing, to two cenotes, and to the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary. Bring masks for the transit to and from these locations, as some folks came from other resorts who may or may not be taking as many precautions as El Dorado.
The staff was wonderful and did a fantastic job getting to know us. Sure, we could give special shout outs, but honestly every single one of them would go out of their way to ensure we were having a good time and had everything we needed. I would, however, like to give a special shout out to the kitchen staff. My girlfriend came in from Bulgaria and had never had elotes Mexican style street corn. I asked our server if it was possible. He brought Luis from the kitchen up to talk to me, who said it would be no problem at all. Sure enough, the next day for lunch they recognized our room number and brought us two delicious ears of Mexican street corn. From the bell boys, to the concierges, to the cart drivers, to the food service staff, to the multitude of maintenance workers keeping the resort running – thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We are already looking forward to coming back and seeing what the resort looks like when it isn’t in Pandemic mode.

This was our third visit to the resort as we enjoyed it so much the first two times visited - yet again this resort proves to be very good value for money and an all round lovely place to be.

We were booked into the premium block but had to spend our first night in a standard room due to a plumbing issue but that didn’t bother us. The standard room was recently renovated and when we moved to the premium block we requested to move back to the standard room as it was better decorated, felt cleaner and in a preferred location. The concierge were more than accommodating and sorted it out for us ASAP. For reference we stayed in room 3718 and recommend requesting that block to stay in if possible.

There are a couple of negatives we noticed this time around. The beach and poolside beds are not as nicely dressed as they have been previously and some areas of the pools clearly need re-tiling.

Overall we would still more than recommend this resort - we love it and hope to return one day. Our highlights are:

The Klay Talay and Mia Casa restaurants

The many options for places to eat breakfast (the beach is a great option)

The whole resort is mainly peaceful (although at times the Americans are way too much)

The beach is constantly being cleared of seaweed daily and is spotless

The hotel has adapted very well to covid protocols

The most impressive element of this resort has always been and continues to be the service by the staff. They really are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. There are too many team members to list but in particular Daniel stood out as being so attentive (serving breakfast in Arrecifes). His service skills were spot on and he even helped us with learning our Spanish!
