Detailed Reviews
I stayed here with 3 friends and we slept in the Early Bird Hopper Hut. 2 of us shared the double bed and the other 2 shared the double sofa bed. Sofa bed is a bit of a tight squeeze for 2 if you're not used to sharing
Great location with fields surrounding you (plus a few friend cows & sheep) but still only 20 minute walk up the lane to the local pub that serves great food.
Decent communal facilities (compost toilets, hot running water for washing dishes etc) although we didn't use the showers so not sure how good/hot they were. There's limited huts/yurts scattered around the field so plenty of space even when it's full to capacity.
Loved the open fire we had on the first night while the weather was good. Hut comes with most things you'll need while there but we did need to bring our own towels + duvet for the sofa bed

We had a lovely stay in 'Fuggle' hopper hut for a weekend, at the end of July '22 and Jonathan couldn't have been more helpful, despite being a working farmer. The cute, cosy & clean hut has every thing a family of 4 needs, including double bed for a couple and sofa bed for 2 kids in sleeping bags, or another couple. As it was, my daughter shared the double with me and my adult son had the sofa bed to himself. Other members of the family camped in a tent.
Lighting is LED strips and there is 1 car style socket for phone charging. We used the fuel provided to have a BBG and so put tin foil over the grating of the firepits, piercing it with a knife to allow fat to drip. There are picnic tables, benches and chairs to sit on outside.
There is a covered washing up area with 2 sinks and 2 rustic showers with hot water. There are also 4 'Thunderbox' compost toilets, which some of the junior members of our party were unsure of at first, having not used them before, but they then decided they were 'Shrek' toilets & so OK! The yurt and the 2 new pods look wonderful, with amazing views looking towards Tenterden.

We've been to a few glamping sites and this one was a great find.
We stayed in one of the hopper's huts and they have everything you need. We took some extras that we usually take but I left them in the roof box. The blurb says all you need is what you want to wear and eat- and that's true (take your own towels). They provide plenty of firewood, firelighters, matches, tea towels, tealights...
Communication from the owner before the stay was great. I got stuck in the car park (my fault) and I texted the owner and he was there with a 4x4 and tow rope in minutes. I also dropped the washing up bowl and broke some crockery and he was fine about that too.
The washing-up and showering facilities are fine. I imagine the compost toilets aren't everyone's cup of tea, but if you don't overthink it, it's no different to a normal toilet (go in the pub or supermarket if you don't like them that much).
The pub in Rolvenden is nice and the nearby town of Tenterden had everything you need.
We visited Deal, Chartwell, Dungeness, Whitstable and Brockhill Country Park which are all under 1 hours drive away.

We had a lovely stay last weekend in the large yurt with family, and friends in an extra tent alongside that they’d brought from home. The yurt was great, really really spacious (includes a side yurt with a sofa bed so we could separate kids and adults a bit), big enough for 8 of us to play cards round the table inside when it rained in the morning. Very well provisioned, with lots of details thought of - plenty of wood and kindling, fresh ice blocks each day, all the kitchen stuff you need, benches round the fire pit etc. The double bed was really comfy too. Beautiful setting with plenty of space. I’d been before on a girl’s’ weekend and would 100% recommend

We stayed in one of the Hopper Huts and had a great 4 night stay, with 2 adults and our two young kids. The huts themselves are comfortable and thef field and setting are great. The facilities were good and the host Jon took brilliant care of us and went above and beyond to make our stay a good one.

After searching around a bit and looking at various places for a Glamping trip, my sister and I, along with three children aged 11, 12 and 14, settled on trying Little Halden Farm for our first attempt at Glamping - two girls didn't much fancy full on camping after their first try several years ago!
We found the 20ft yurt at Little Halden Farm, which also has a smaller 10ft yurt that can be used as an additional bedroom and we had plenty of space for all of us. Sis went in the 10ft and the kids had to suffer my snoring in the 20ft, but they did have the privilege of the double bed and sofa bed, whilst I had to sleep on an air bed on the floor. However there was so much space that we could've quite easily fitted a fold-out camping bed or similar in the space.
Jon made us all feel very welcome right from the booking and when we arrived at the site, which really started our trip off well and the basket with marshmallows and apple juice was a lovely touch. I got the impression he would've helped us in anyway he could had we needed anything day or night and was always very prompt when we asked for ice packs and fire wood.
Having an open fire was also one reason I wanted to go to Little Halden Farm. Fewer and fewer places seem to allow it these days and without a fire, it really wouldn't have felt anything like a glam camping trip. We had the thing lit every night and used it to cook meals and toast marshmallows on which seems to be a bit a rarity for the kids these days.
The kids had plenty of space to run around and play games and there are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area within short drives. No TV or YouTube for several days, doesn't appear to have had any negative impact on them!
Some places I have seen advertised seem to have gone a bit too far with the Glamping idea - perhaps 'Extreme Glamping' needs to become a label - with far, far too many home comforts and removing the enjoyment of proper out door living in my opinion.
Little Halden Farm seems to have the balance just right. Even the compost loos seemed to provide some kind of comedy element once we'd got used to how basic they were. However with clean, warm showers provided and hot water on demand, we really couldn't have asked for a better experience and thoroughly enjoyed out three nights.
Thanks for everything and we hope to be back in the future!

We stayed here from Sat-Mon in the summer camping field. We booked a couple of days before, responses to emails were very quick. The day before we arrived i recieved a text from Jonathan, with all the directions and postcode ect.
When we arrived the field was massive and you can pitch wherever you like and there was tons of space for my 2 boys (6&7) to run around and play frisbee and ball games.
The owner Jonathan was very welcoming and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him.
The facilities are all here, Hot showers x 2, composting toilets x 4, washing up sinks x 3 and there are also 2 drinking water taps.
Not at any point did we queue for a shower and the toilets work well, they didn't smell at any point.
We were welcomed also by the Buzzards, which was an amazing sight, and in the mornings the boys liked seeing the rabbits that were still out.
It is very calming and peaceful here, we were de-stressed instantly.
This campsite is in an beautiful area, it is very near to the steam railway and is about a 20 minute drive to Bodiam Castle.
I would have no problems recommending this site to anyone (in fact i already have!)
It is a great place for families and we will for sure be going back again next summer, im glad we found it!!!

My partner and I spent a night in our new tent at Little Halden Farm last Friday evening. We were met by a very smiley and extremely welcoming John who kindly lent us two camping chairs (which I'd forgotten!) He gave me a guided tour of the site, making totally sure I understood how the showers operated and even gave me a tour of one of the hopper huts, nothing seemed too much for John. The site is peaceful with a friendly atmosphere and we were especially taken with the amount of space that surrounded each yurt, so many campsites pack in the guests and make the experience chaotic and noisy, ours was romantic and very peaceful. I would totally recommend this site for anyone, looking for a glamping experience and who has never camped before. The showers and toilet facilities were spotless, with hanging baskets of flowers outside, (nice touch)! I have just made a second booking for August to take my daughters as I know they will love the luxury of the 20ft yurt.

Group of ladies with children between 5 to 7 in age stayed in the hopper huts which were very clean and cosy. The huts are equipped with all you would want for your stay you just needed your clothes, food and drink! It was lovely and safe for the kids to run in the field and play in the small wooded area. The communal areas were clean and I even got use to the compost toilets!

Lovely quiet camp site with only 20 pitches so plenty of room between tents and you can pitch where you want. Facilities are basic but adequate with compost toilets. Showers and toilets cleaned on a regular basis. Jon the owner very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful quiet camp site.l

Brussels, Région De Bruxelles-Capitale, Belgium288 contributions107 helpful votesIs there a power socket in the yurts?
Just to be prepared.
Hi,
The power in the Yurts is 12 volt supplied by a solar panel and battery.
This provides power for the lights and a 12 volt socket similar to what you'd find in your car.
The socket is suitable for charging a phone only.
There is no mains electricity at the campsite.
