Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My partner and I along with our staffie dog Poppy have just spent the new year period in the annex at Sundene house. It has a self contained apartment, with a large bedroom, separate lounge, bathroom and kitchen with a microwave and fridge. Very cosy, plenty of hot water and heating. Could easily spend a two week holiday here with the dog as it provides plenty of space, and Harry and Louise made both us and our dog feel very welcome.
We are both vegan, and were provided with loads of great vegan food for the annex and for the morning breakfasts. Both Louise and harry understood exactly what goes into a hearty vegan breakfast and had made loads of effort to provide all those alternatives.
Will definitely be coming back in 2016!

We would highly recommend Sundene House for a visit to North Devon. Room (suite!) was immaculate, with our every need catered for. Such attention to detail. A hearty full English breakfast, served in a delightful dining room, was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the very welcoming and friendly proprietors. A well deserved Five Stars from us!

This was our first visit to sundene house and we were made to feel at home straight away . The rooms were extremely well equipped with everything you needed. The bathroom had plenty of shampoo and shower gel and the shower was very good. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you need , including milk in the fridge ( not those horrible little packs of milk).
Harry was a first class host and was more than helpful with all our needs, it was a pity that we did not meet Louise.
We wish you both every luck in the future.

This is the first time I have actually taken the trouble to write one of these reviews. However after the way Lou and Harry looked after my daughter and I during our 3 night stay, I felt compelled to sing the praises of this delightful B&B. Our room was really attractive and very clean, with all the required extras. The whole guest house seems to have been lovingly restored in good taste. Lou is a very fine home cook and we were impressed with the evening meal we had when we arrived. I sincerely don't have a single criticism, and I am not easily pleased! I love this part of Devon and will most certainly be returning to Sundene House.

We had to find accommodation for my sister in law and her teenage grand daughter in order that they could join us all for our Golden Wedding celebrations. I am reporting what she said to me about this B&B. It was excellent, the owners were most helpful. Not only was the breakfast very good but there was a fridge and microwave in the room. A jug of milk was in the fridge . We asked for a two bedded room but in fact they got a lovely family room so that her grand daughter could be
separate but close. The house is in a quiet road in the small village of Northam which is about two miles from the sea. Parking is available. Very reasonable Highly recommended.

We visited Sundene last weekend. It is such a lovely place. Harry and Louise are so welcoming and friendly. Our suite was great, really spacious - lots of room for my husband, me and our huge dog! Breakfast was fantastic - wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back.😊
