Atahuri lives up to its name- peaceful. I was extremely lucky to find this beautiful and relaxing place. Robyn is friendly, informative and the best whitebait catcher I know. The whitebait fritters were special.
This accomodation is superior in design, architecture and ambience. Robyn’s hospitality and enthusiasm were much appreciated as also were her classy breakfasts. (She caught the whitebait for our fritters. Where else in the world ?) We loved the peaceful location and experience. Without any hesitation we would return!
From the little gift awaiting us in our room, to the surprise at the breakfast table we were treated like royalty. Such a down to earth New Zealander who made the stay all the more enjoyable with her Pukeko dance . (Only those that have stayed here will appreciate that comment) The rooms were luxurious and very private. Robyn is the best host and nothing was to much trouble, we felt special so thank you.
Atahuri is just a wonderful spot for a few days R&R Robyn is a great host and whips up a magnificent breakfast. Nestled behind the sandhill it is a short stroll to Peka Peka beach and few mins from excellent restaurants for dinner Rooms are sublimely comfortable.
I booked a room for a couple of nights at Atahuri for my newlywed Steph. It was a to be a surprise to her and I was not quite sure what to expect but was hoping for the best. Well, it exceeded our expectations by a considerable margin. Firstly Robyn is an absolutely amazing host, making us immediately feel welcome and serving us up a little afternoon tea as she explained the facilities and resort to us. Our room was superb, the bed was great giving us two well rested sleeps. Robyns breakfasts were sublime and we really enjoyed the chats. A couple of minutes walk through the sand dunes reveal a totally deserted, private sandy beach. I loved my early morning dips in the pool. Highly recommended for honeymooners like us, people wanting a posh romantic getaway and international travellers wishing to experience some real kiwi style. Can't wait to visit again Robyn, thank you so much. …
