We stayed 2 nights at Atahuri and loved it. From vivacious host Robyn's welcome, to the final breakfast (cooked by Robyn) then exploring the dunes and walking down to the ocean for a warm sea swim (no rips here). We treated ourselves to dinner at 50-50 in Paraparaumu and the six courses and matching wines were superb. The architect Ron Stevenson (Waiheke) has excelled in a stunning modern series of suites. There are also spas and pool. All very private with soft super-king beds. Run, don't walk to book in a stay at this sumptuous place. We'll be back for sure.

You couldn't wish for anything more, in this superb sanctuary tucked away amongst the sand dunes, with amazing views of the sea, Kapiti Island and golden red sunsets. Your host, Robyn is most welcoming, anticipating your every need with delectable breakfasts that demonstrate her exceptional culinary skills. We just loved our relaxing tasteful suite with the beautiful Truebridge fan light and other thoughtful touches. If you are looking for a very special, tranquil relaxing experience with a discrete and friendly host who can advise you on where to find the best local restaurants and highlights then this is the place to stay. This place looks & feels like an actual oasis. Nestled privately in the sand dunes of the Kapiti Coast it still affords a beautiful view of Kapiti Island. Robyn is a truly superb host. She is warm & welcoming & a great chatter if you want chat but equally leaves you to your privacy as preferred. She is an amazing cook & a delicious home Robyn cooked breakfast was a perfect start to the day. The linen, decor, gardens, spa, ambiance, the cats, the under floor heating, the art, all contribute to a perfect luxury escape. We will be back. Feels like kapiti’s best kept secret.

Atahuri lives up to its name- peaceful. I was extremely lucky to find this beautiful and relaxing place. Robyn is friendly, informative and the best whitebait catcher I know. The whitebait fritters were special.

This accomodation is superior in design, architecture and ambience. Robyn’s hospitality and enthusiasm were much appreciated as also were her classy breakfasts. (She caught the whitebait for our fritters. Where else in the world ?) We loved the peaceful location and experience. Without any hesitation we would return!

From the little gift awaiting us in our room, to the surprise at the breakfast table we were treated like royalty. Such a down to earth New Zealander who made the stay all the more enjoyable with her Pukeko dance . (Only those that have stayed here will appreciate that comment) The rooms were luxurious and very private. Robyn is the best host and nothing was to much trouble, we felt special so thank you.

I booked a room for a couple of nights at Atahuri for my newlywed Steph. It was a to be a surprise to her and I was not quite sure what to expect but was hoping for the best. Well, it exceeded our expectations by a considerable margin. Firstly Robyn is an absolutely amazing host, making us immediately feel welcome and serving us up a little afternoon tea as she explained the facilities and resort to us. Our room was superb, the bed was great giving us two well rested sleeps. Robyns breakfasts were sublime and we really enjoyed the chats. A couple of minutes walk through the sand dunes reveal a totally deserted, private sandy beach. I loved my early morning dips in the pool. Highly recommended for honeymooners like us, people wanting a posh romantic getaway and international travellers wishing to experience some real kiwi style. Can't wait to visit again Robyn, thank you so much.

This is a fabulous getaway for so many reasons. A perfect host in Robyn, who welcomes, explains, helps, cooks and entertains sometimes all together! We didn’t want to leave, our suite was so comfortable and well appointed, most of all totally private. Before we arrived we had made reservations to eat at 50-50, don’t miss it, and booked the trip over to Kapiti island to see NZ as it used to be before it was impacted by Moari, whaling and then farmers.
