Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I mean, it was fine but it had the overall feel of Bates Motel. The guy in reception was very helpful when we arrived and even gave us some advice on the event we were in the area to see. However, we went up to the room only to find the room hadn’t even been cleaned from the previous occupants- beds unmade, dirty towels and cups everywhere, This began a whole drama because “I’m fully booked tonight so I don’t know what I’m going to do”. Then we were given another room. Honestly, I don't think dingy is the right word but it absolutely was. The window catch was broken so the wind whistled through the window all night and the room was cold all night. Breakfast was passable, good bacon though. It was fine for a stop over but honestly it’s dingy and a bit grim and the guy in reception looked like he was being run ragged doing everything on his own. It was fine, if served it’s purpose but I wouldn’t come back.

I booked basic family rooms for a budget price ss we were visiting Gullivers World in Warrington about 25 mins away. Certainly no frills, however it was clean if dated and beds could be better but it worked for my party of 8 in one 5 bed family room and 1 triple. Stayed in the height of the warm weather so no problem but would be concerned as the windows drafty! Great self serve breakfast included and the manager was very helpful. A bit of a remote location but a brilliant service station next door with a Greggs and Costa inside so plenty of food snacks and drinks to supplement the basic food offer

Excellent stay, great family room and brilliant personal service. Great variety of breakfast and the room was well stocked with towels. Room for three kids which is rare with a double bunk bed and single bed. Free car park and wifi

Our room was very dated. Like something from the seventies. Very mismatched. Curtains hanging down. Drink stains up the walls. Mattress too long for one of the beds. No mattress protectors on beds, just felt grubby. Bathroom was so old. Shower dribbled water out of it and the bathroom tap took forever to produce hot water. Stains on carpet. Furniture rusty and old. Chair leg fell off when moved chair. Just very strange place. No blinds or nets at windows so had to close curtains when getting dressed/undressed as felt no privacy. Woken early because curtains very thin and see through! Also to the smell of sewage being emptied by a lorry in the car park. Only good thing about this place is the staff are very friendly. I guess there's not much choice of accommodation in the area which is fine but this is so overpriced.

Stayed there for my cousins wedding. For the price you can’t want for anything more. Clean and comfortable and met by an informative gent who was very genuine and friendly. Easy access with the key fob for accessing when you wanted so no restrictions. Breakfast was limited but there was a choice and thoroughly enjoyed it with the price in mind, it was more than enough. Great if you just want somewhere comfortable and economical for staying and looking for no frills. Would definitely use again for that purpose. Also next to a petrol station with Greggs and Costa so nothing you can’t get on toe.

Ok basic hotel for what we needed. However I was charged twice for the room. When queried the receptionist didn’t really know how to refund me. I’m still waiting for a refund. After ringing everyday and him getting his wife to pay from her account (very odd) I think I may give up and take it further. Avoid this place. Very poor customer service.

We used this hotel for 2 nights as a family of 5 (3 adults and 2 kids) it was clean and tidy and very welcoming. The lovely gentleman in reception couldn’t have done enough for us and service was second to none. Was ideal for our trip to Chester zoo as it wasn’t far to travel. The kids especially loved that they had games in reception that we paid £1 to rent for our room and had great fun, will definitely be back in future.

My wife and I along with our son had to overnight here during the midst of the Covid crisis due to a bereavement and needing to attend the funeral the following day. We were the only guests there. We found the single member of staff to be very helpful and pleasant. He looked after all our needs. The 3 bed room was warm and comfortable. It had good WiFi and TV. A fridge and tea and coffee was supplied. Because we couldn’t go out to a local pub or restaurant due to Covid restrictions we ordered an Indian takeaway to be delivered. We were allowed to consume this in the breakfast room. It was a lovely place and at only £66 inc full English breakfast cooked perfectly great value. Highly recommended.

The staff were friendly. It was quite basic but it's decent for what you pay. The soap dispenser wasn't working but they got me a new one asap. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. At breakfast an old man was saying some quite racist stuff in conversation to the receptionist. I understand these things are awkward but that behaviour should always be challenged. I had to say something to this old man which was not a good note to leave on.

From pulling into the carpark it felt some what strange and felt it wasn't going to go well and this was confirmed when the door to the hotel was locked and front desk unmanned. At least there was a bell to ring to be greeted by a disgruntled gentleman. So sorry for disturbing you like..... There was something about this guy I didn't like and this got confirmed later on. Oh well, it was for only two nights. So we booked in and the room seemed quite spacious though. The following morning I went to give the guy the keys back and said I'd pick them up later because the keyring was mashed and I didn't want to lose any of the keys or the fob to gain access. He pretty much protested this as he may not be about to let me in later. Well excuse me for you not wanting to do your job. He wasn't happy with me giving him the keys back, but tough. Maybe you should spend 20p and get a secure keyring. The following morning we did breakfast which was terrible. The sausages were clearly not cooked and still raw in the middle. So decided to go elsewhere for breakfast the following morning.
