We booked here for May 2023, for a cycling tour. As we will be on the road cycling we needed to be sure our accommodation was available at the right place and time (you can't just do a detour to an alternative place when you are on a bike) so we booked it in January.
And now, just a month before our holiday they've cancelled it, giving no reason. They say they could accommodate us on a different date so obviously they are still in business, I'm thinking they had a better offer and decided to dump us.
At this late stage our chance of getting somewhere suitable is quite poor (we are travelling with our little dog so that limits where we can stay) so our holiday has been turned upside down. We have all our other overnight stops booked so we can't change the schedule, I hope we can find somewhere near Fonni for that night or we are in trouble.

Beautiful setting and despite no common language nothing was a problem and we were made to feel very welcome. Food was amazing (especially suckling pig) but beware the volume of anti pasti and don't eat too much too soon! Wine also very good. We would happily go back here - easily our favourite place to stay in Sardinia (out of 4).

We plucked out Fonni on the map and lucked out with Agriturismo Muggiana. Settled in a secluded grove only a short walk from the town, it is a place of relaxation and wonderful food. They take it seriously here, as all proper agriturismi should, and make much of the produce they serve. We only wished we could have stayed longer.

Luckily we found this beautiful place on our way to Fonni from Desulo. A small sign along to road took us there, and we found a heavenly place. The clear mountain air, the beautiful surroundings, excellent rooms (clean, cool, nice bathrooms, internet), excellent homemade food. The award winning soup made on local ingredients is worth the stop itself, and then there is the suckling pig and the lamb.......The owners were very helpful, and wanted to assist in every possible way. We were also lucky enough to try homemade grappa and mirto, a lovely end to a wonderful day. It is recommended to sit outside during the night and enjoy the sound of silence and gaze at the skylight. We would want everybody to experience this place.
