Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

If you are thinking about going to Hawthorn Hideaway, honestly don't think about it just go. We stayed in Swan Lodge and wow its so beautiful and it has everything you need for you're stay. The king bed is so comfy, pillows are really soft. Love the power shower and the complimentary toiletries. There is also a complimentary breakfast basket with enough for 2 days including tea, coffee, hot chocolate and delicious handmade chocolates , the log fire was ideal for these colder months but there is also heating if you prefer. Outside is you're very own hot tub with fluffy robes and spa slippers. The grounds are all lit up with beautiful Christmas lights, so it's a lovely walk through them. Where you can also use the steam room, or the sauna all inclusive. We also booked a bbq pack and cooked it in the snugly ward bbq yurt exclusive to you. I also booked with shelly in the massage yurt and I tell you she's absolutely brilliant at what she does and really friendly. Last but never least are the hosts Ronnie, Jo and Melody , are there if you need them and not if you don't . They are really friendly and helpful as are the lovely chalet girls that make you're accommodation beautiful. Thankyou again Ronnie, Jo and beautiful Melody xxx

I don't even know how to start this! From the moment we got there and opened the door we felt relaxed. The place draws you in and hugs you, and you are at peace. Josephine and Ronnie are outstanding hosts and made us feel so welcome. It was great to sit and chat to Ronnie it made our experience. This place is truly magical. To come away shut the world out, switch your brain off and relax and think of nothing, to just enjoy your surroundings is truly priceless. We have booked again for next November and later in November after talking to Ronnie upon leaving so we see the Christmas set up. This place is so very special to myself and Andy we didn't want to come home and was going to claim squatters rights lol Our paths crossed and felt like us meeting was meant to be with family situations Well done guys we cannot wait to come back and stay again, love to you both and your family Cat & Andy xx

What a lovely place to relax and escape for a few days. The lodges have everything you need, we’re so clean and the breakfast was a lovely treat. The bbq cabin was a great little space to cook in on a cold evening. Each lodge had its own hot tub just outside the door . The Halloween decorations were great too .Just a lovely relaxing break. Ronnie and Josephine have thought of everything

We stayed for 2 nights on Kingfisher and absolutely loved it. The weather was atrocious but the accommodation was toasty warm and had everything we needed. The hot tub was lovely and the sauna a great extra facility. Donna and Brooke were excellent in responding quickly when we had a blown fuse and were lovely and friendly. Two very slight niggles were that the sofa was very uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time (perhaps less of an issue in Summer when you can sit outside) and the cabinet over the sink in the shower room makes it impossible to brush your teeth over the sink. These in no way detracted from the stay though. I grew up in Walkeringham and have not been back in 30 years, so it was a lovely trip down memory lane in beautiful surroundings. The Pantry in Misterton serves delicious food and we very much enjoyed our lunch there. Highly recommend a stay at Hawthorn Hideaway.

On arrival we used the wonderful app that is you’re guide to you’re stay and gives you all of the info needed to let ourselves in the gate, signs used to find the car park, lovely and secure behind locked gates short walk through the beautiful woodland to a lovely haven, We found our cabin easy keysafe access, let ourselves in and swan lodge was all lit up and a lovely breakfast basket was on the table, the bed was lit up when we walked in and wowed us straight away!! The owners Josephine and Ronnie have literally thought of everything, fresh milk and butter in the fridge with locally sourced bacon and sausage, a stunning kitchen area equipped with all you need and even out door dining equipment and a dishwasher to save washing up. My husband and I had the massage and wanted the private so I h but unfortunately the chef was booked up, but the massage experience was calm and serene and a very beautiful experience also, the woodland was all lit and decorated for Halloween and beautiful coloured lights and lit sauna and steam rooms they really have thought of everything.I woke early the next morning after a lovely meal from a chinese takeaway in misterton(fully recommended) near the coop, We showered and got in the hot tub and it really did not disappoint watching the light come up in a hot tub felt very special we can’t wait to stay again!! We checked in and out and never saw a soul but it just all added to the lovely ambiance and privacy that josie and Ronnie have created, I absolutely totally recommend a stay at this place worth every penny, They saved our Anniversary and we are glad that we went there instead truly magical ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had been meaning to get to this fabulous property for quite some time but the wait was certainly worth it. Ronnie and Josephine have put so much of their heart and soul into making Hawthorn Hideaway the incredible place it is and they should be very, very, proud of their achievements. Great communications prior to our stay, a lodge that has literally everything you need for a warm, cosy, and hugely comfortable October stay and of course the wonderful team that works tirelessly in the background to ensure guests have a truly memorable break away. Even the chickens are friendly here producing delicious, and huge, fresh eggs for breakfast. We were particularly lucky to be able to book the brand new Private Dining Experience. Three courses prepared, and served, by Sammy in the gorgeous, candlelit, Yurt has got to be one of those special moments in life. Stunningly delicious food and incredibly good value - not to mention Sammy's wonderful smile and can-do approach. Make sure you book this add-on as you will certainly not be disappointed. Thank you to everyone at Hawthorn Hideaway for making our stay in Swan Lodge so special and, of course, to the lovely Brook who helped us navigate our way out of the gate before we'd worked out that the key fob did this for us automatically....!! Richly deserved 5/5 and we will certainly be back for more.

We had a weekend break here in Swan Lodge and it was absolutely beautiful! We loved every second - lovely hosts, the most comfortable bed that we've ever slept in and very friendly chickens! We would recommend ordering the BBQ platter, it was absolutely delicious and there's enough food for two days! We will be recommending to everybody, and hopefully be back again ourselves! There are some nice local pubs and restaurants too so plenty to do!

We stayed in the owl lodge and our stay was fantastic, from the moment we first arrived we felt very welcomed and everything looked brilliant. we used the sauna and steam room a couple of times and each time we really enjoyed it. Once in the lodge you feel miles away from the world and the grounds are very beautiful to walk around, and the way everything is lit up at night is just stunning. We got to meet Josephine who was very kind and couldn't do enough for us, a really wonderful host, hopefully when we come back we can also get to meet Josephine again, and Ronnie as he was brilliant and kept in touch with us to ensure everything was alright with the BBQ, Steam Room, and Sauna. If you are thinking of staying here then please do so. We have stayed at a number of lodges with hot tubs but this place is a real gem and on another level. We are already thinking about when we can return but maybe going for the kingfisher.
