We stayed here for a trip to the Isle of Grain. The hotel was exactly what you would expect from a Premier Inn. Clean, comfortable and with both room and meals to a good standard. It was in a good location with great road links and additional facilities outside of the hotel if you wanted them. Staff very helpful

We stayed for 5 nights at the hotel as an interim for a house move.
On the plus side it was very keenly priced and there is free parking. We went to the cinema next door one day and there are a number of places to eat. We went a few times to the Waters Edge pub which was excellent. Breakfast was exceptional and cheap.
The down side was the noise. We were at the side of the hotel so not only had to contend with the railway line - fortunately not going in the night but we closed our windows due to early start. On the Monday morning we were woken up at 6am with the crashing noise of a refuse lorry emptying the big dustbins just outside. To top it all we were woken at 4am Saturday morning with a short false fire alarm.
Premier inns are a good brand but as we had booked 6 nights (stayed for 5) you would think we would have been offered a better room? This has happened before that we had a long stay and had a side room when others had the views? Not sure how it is worked out but as the rooms aren't serviced in between, the hotel must make a saving when staying for a longer term and we've spent more than someone just staying 1 night?

The staff member was very welcoming on arrival and the hotel is very Covid safe, with a signposted one way system in place, masks worn by staff and guests, and hand sanitizers available in the public areas. Our room at the front of the building was called a "new room" by the receptionist and certainly it was in perfect condition and very clean, with a large comfortable bed. The hotel restaurant area was not fully open due to the Covid situation, but there are other restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk of the hotel

The bath/shower mixer tap in our room (215) was broken, so we were unable to use it which is bad enough. There was also banging & noise above us until the early hours.

Then when booking breakfast, the only time slot available was 10:30hrs,so after waiting around until then, reported to the breakfast area at the designated time only to be told some of the food had run out and could no longer offer the full cooked breakfast and suggested we go either Mcdonalds or Franky & Bennys. I did over heard a member of staff saying they were at capacity for breakfast at the time and is my belief that we were just fobed off with an excuse resulting in us wasting most of our morning for nothing.

Spoke with the duty manager who was very apologetic and stated she would like to offer us a full refund. She then stated we would have to contact head office to process the refund and gave us a card with instructions to quote the provided booking reference.

Upon contacting Premier Inn head office, the representative was very rude & abrupt and adamant that we would not receive a refund let alone any form of recompense. I explained to her that we were only following the instructions given to us by Rochester duty manager and was unhappy that we were told we would get a refund only to be told we would not.

I then asked if I could escalate the matter & speak to someone of higher authority. The reply was "This is head office, im it" and that I couldn't speak to anyone else. I then asked if she had a manager or someone above her to which she replied yes, but she would not escalate the matter. When asked for her name, she would not provide her full name & just said "Megan".

The call then ended and I was absolutely shocked and appalled with the customer service.

It then got worse, once I had time to reflect, decided to call head office again and spoke with another representative. This time the representative called Rochester Premier Inn and allegedly spoke with the duty manager. Just when I thought it could not get any worse, I was then told the duty manager denied stating we would get a refund and made out as if we were lying.

Both myself and my partner clearly recollect the conversation and even have the head office contact card with the booking ref that we were givej and told to call.

Overall, room not fit for purpose, was noisy at night, could not provide breakfast that we had booked in advance & the icing on the cake, the absolute worst customer service I have ever received

I am falling out of love with Premier Inns!

Positives first: good location, lots of parking, easy to find, inter-connecting rooms

Negatives: housekeeping services needed - 4 nights staying here with our bins not emptied is too long. I know housekeeping has been reduced due to Covid, but they need to find some sort of solution..
Hard to get hold of anybody to get top ups for the teas/coffees etc.
Never anybody on reception which makes it a very impersonal experience.
Rooms really need redecorating, the walls were horribly stained, chips out of the skirting, very dusty on the headboard etc. Just not as clean as you'd hope especially during the pandemic.
Trainline VERY close to the hotel, each morning an early morning train went by which rattled the room so much it woke us all up.
Breakfast time slots couldn't be booked in advance so it was very busy at the buffet which made social distancing hard. Guests observed picking up breakfast items with their hands and putting them back again (realise this isn't Premier Inn's fault, but it's still disgusting!)

I would probably stay here again because the location was convenient and there's not many hotels with inter-connecting rooms, but if there was a better choice then I'd take it!

This is a bold statement but I’m going to put it out there, this is hands down the best PI I have ever stayed in and believe me I have stayed in many.

PI HQ you could give this hotel some love because from the outside it’s not the most appealing and is looking a bit tired and old but even so it’s staff make this place amazing.

We were greeted just before the young lady was going off shift and she still took the time to give us a warm, friendly welcome.
She told us about the restaurant, advised us to book a taxi early if we were going out and acknowledged that I had requested a quiet room.
The room- standard PI, no complaints, so very quiet we never heard a sound all night and we had a lovely view of the river.

We didn’t prebook breakfast but went anyway, again we were greeted warmly, asked if we would like poached eggs, asked if we were vegetarian etc and shown to our seats.
The breakfast was delicious, hot, well cooked, not greasy and the eggs were cooked properly in water.
Huge amount of parking which was free so is a bonus.
Overall a perfect stay.

Lovely new refurbished rooms they are very spacious and extremely clean can’t fault anything in the rooms and the air conditioning and heating it a lovely bonus , and all the staff were very lovely and helpful and great to have a chat too. An amazing shoutout to Denise who is super friendly and there to help and is good for a conversation but puts her work first and the customers happiness and also gill who’s friendly as ever and both are very very helpful they deserve a special recognition as they both go above and beyond. The shower/bath in the room was very refreshing and has a good flow of water and the hotel is in a very central place making everything around easily accessible. The food is also super tasty the breakfast has a good range of options from hot food.. sausage eggs bacon beans ect and also fruit yogurts and pastries and cereals and a range of juices milk and water. I’ve had an amazing stay and have been here a few times and will be going back again and again. The rooms are also very noise blocking can’t hear the motorway or trains or anything outside so very good a peaceful sleep .

Stayed for a few nights, hotel was very clean, room spotless. we had breakfast both mornings and the staff were more like a 5* hotel. jamie was our server, however gill and jenine also took the time to check in on us and make sure we had everything we needed, even though the breakfast was busy, your felt like you were the only people there they genuinely care and it was nice to talk to other people outside of lockdown. my wife is fussy and even she had no complaints... anytime we needed anything extra there was someone more than happy to help. one of the keepers in the corridor even spoke to us and asked how we were after breakfast, also saw staff constently cleaning which was very re assuring, thanks.

A very comfortable, clean and spacious room. The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable and enabled a great nights sleep.

The staff were all very helpful and attentive, and what appeared to be a shortage of staff resulted in staff that had been on reception quickly crossed over to help in the restaurant.

We were in a 2nd floor Medway River facing room. The air conditioning in the room was very welcome, because we were lucky enough to have hot weather despite it being September.

Also as advertised, due to Covid-19, housekeeping do not attend the rooms on a daily basis, but clean towels, extra tea/coffee etc are available from reception.

The hotel is at the end of a Leisure Park, containing McDonalds, CineWorld, bowling, bingo etc. There are no other shops nearby, so driving would be an advantage. There is a large car park, and we never had any issues getting a space.

The breakfast is back to buffet style and that worked fine. The restaurant staff were all attentive, despite appearing to be understaffed at times. All the food was well cooked and tasty.

We've stayed at a few Premier Inns and all have been pleasurable but this one was disappointing. The reception staff were lovely but sadly after confirming that the room that I'd booked was for 2 people, there was only 1 towel (I only found this out the following morning). The heating was off in the room and it was 7 degrees outside so I expect the room to be somewhat warmer than the outside.
When it came to using the shower facilites, well, I actually like a hot shower, however, I could only manage to get warm water from the tap so I had to make do.
We were very saddened by this experience as the cost of hotel rooms are not cheap but I expect the above to be met as they are basics.

I would imagine that there are some as the hotel is quite large, however to be on the safe side, may I suggest that you ask the hotel directly on 01634 226520.
