I went with my other half, our two young boys and my mother. The pub is in a gorgeous location and the decor is lovely. Even the music is good! Our meals were great. The starters we had were nice - chicken skewers, pate and prawns. The steaks the others had were also good, and cooked to order. The French sauvignon we had was very nice, and under £19 a bottle. I would definitely recommend this place. And the views are stunning ❤
I visited with my partner and our two young sons. We all had roast dinner, and it was brilliant! Couldn't fault a thing. Lots of meat, great Yorkshire puddings, good choice of vegetables. We were also given extra gravy as soon as we asked for it. The food was served very quickly. The barman was a very kind young man who spent time talking with our boys. We also met the owners who were very welcoming and professional. We will definitely be going here again!
I arrived with my family and was delighted at what we received. Due to flooding in town and storm Dennis it was quiet but I felt as if the standards had been kept extremely high throughout our meals. We were welcomed by a very friendly owner who showed us to our candle lit table next to a roaring fire. The interior is not at all mundane with a modern yet countryside quirky feel. Our drinks were as they should and everyone was happy. Then we had a sharing platter with Italian style salamis and lovely warm bread. We had our quickly cooked and amazing main courses with lovely local meat, seafood and chunky chips. Our desserts were as they should, well presented and fresh. Overall we are delighted with our outing and will definitely return. Highly recommended to go and have a meal there! A real hidden gem and worth seeking out!…
Room was cold. Washing machine spinning above room shaking light fittings. Lukewarm shower, generally a bit grubby. Breakfast eggs were not cooked so put me off eating. Pub was cold. When voiced we were told they had new cleaner and room was last on the pipes
Seven of us met for Sunday Lunch. We had met there previously and were looking forward to a nice meal in very pleasant surroundings. The meal was prebooked for 1:30pm on the 29 Sept. After ordering our starters arrived circa 45 minutes later the place was far from full so why it took so long was beyond us. It is fair to say the srarters were nice. The main courses followed and the best description of them was AWFUL. The plates were cold there was a mix up serving the order the beef was ordered pink it came very well done and tough virtually inedible. The beef was replaced but as consequence of the delay the vegetables had gone cold. The lasagne was dry the pork just about acceptable but there wasn't any crackling. In all a disaster. We found the manager to be unhelpful She brought the chef who apologised profusely. The manager said she received complements on the lasagne but that was not our experience evidenced by the amount of food left. We were offered desserts but declined The last time we ate here everything was great which raises the question what has gone wrong?…
