Hidden in the woods of Bavaria, coming to this place is a little bit like discovering that old fairy tale castle. The place is neat and typical, but could use some renovation. Some rooms have indeed been renovated (you want to take a room in the second floor). Cosy place for dinner or breakfast. Nice walking in the immediate surrounding.

It was an early spring night as we made our way from the magnificent Black Forest and Bavaria to friendly Franconia. A constant drizzle and empty winding roads greeted us all the way on our drive to Waldgasthof Wildbad. The one thing that stands out at 9 PM in Wildbad is the restaurant. A friendly cat stood by our side...

We, 6 adults and 6 'kids' aged 8 and up, stayed at the Wildbach Gasthaus for 4 or 5 nights at the end of our month-long vacation in Bayern. We arrived there after having traveled a lot, explored Bayern quite extensively and were almost exhausted from it all. The place was a really good choice for us. We finally submitted...

For the last three years I've stopped overnight here after my annual holiday in Italy! Let's start with the rooms they are clean ,spacious and comfortable .However the shower either ran too hot or too cold! The Hotel is located in a beautiful forest and I recommend a walk to the devil's house. The hotels restaurant offers a menu that...

Stayed here visiting the Romantische Strasse. Such a nice place, in the middle of a forest, with peacocks roaming around the gardens. Very nice room, good free WIFI, lot of parking space. Breakfasts were incredible, with all kind of cold meats and cheeses. Didn´t get to have dinner,as we were there the day they were closed, but they recomended an...

I found the Waldgasthof because I was looking for a place to stay during a business trip while travelling on a tight budget. I was attracted at first by cost, then by the positive reviews, and thought I would give it a shot. I speak absolutely no German, but this was not a problem. A friendly young man answered my...

Our annual trip to Germany is never complete without visiting this romantic classic. The food is home cooked and will strike all taste buds. A complete menu of standard German fare as well as "wild" game. The location is perfect for walking trails through the forest. This place is hundreds of years old but gorgeous inside to include a real...

I found this place by accident and I am so glad I found them! On our recent trip to Germany we stayed at 5 different places and this one is the winner! It's only minutes away from Rottenburg on Tauber (which was my absolute favorite place in Germany, but that is a separate review :). You can easily visit Nuremberg,...
