GreAt place for stop over on way down to Provence. Warm welcome , comfortable rooms with nice individual style . Lovely food and great wines. Bikes available for rides around the vineyards and make sure you go to local growers to buy wine .

This is difficult My wife and I stayed here several years ago and I well remember going down to dinner in the not best of moods for reasons no longer important but being instantly won over by the excellent food and the charming hostess. Since then we have had lunch there - still excellent - but because I face the...

we went there for a menu for 95 Euro each. The choice and combination of products in the dishes was not convincing and according to the price. One or two dishes less, but of high quality with good taste would be better. The main course (poulard) was dry and not good at all. The decoration and the handcraft of the...

My room was cosy, and looked out on a quiet street. It was comfortable, and I had a great sleep. But what was really out of the ordinary were the culinary skills of the owner, Frederic Carrion, a Michelin-starred chef. Many years ago I ate at a restaurant with "haute cuisine" in Lyon, and I had no wish to repeat...

Our stop-over in Viré was a total success! Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and an enormous bathroom. The only minus what the shower was a bit difficult to operate. The highlight however was the dinner. We had an offer from VeryChic which included the summer truffle menu, and all dishes were simply great. Since we are not...

I really did not advise you staying at this hotel, it did not deserve 4 stars. Even with the reduction of Groupon it is expensive for what it is in reality. The only thing I like in it - welcoming reception and good massage at 80 euros, 55 minutes. Spa zone is small, there is special unpleasant parfume in it,...

When reviewing a hotel, I rarely give 5 stars, mainly because most hotels fall down in one respect or another. Franklu Carrion deserves 4.5 stars, so I am being generous on this occasion. While Chez Carrion has it’s failings ~ for instance the rooms are in need of a half/full length mirror and a waste bin in the room would...

Our visit did not start too well as we found it difficult to park nearby but we checked in and had a wander around the village. As it was very hot we decided to sit at one of the tables in the shade outside the hotel. We were almost immediately asked if we would like a drink and were brought...

While on our honeymoon, we stopped here for one night on our way from Beaune to Lyon specifically to eat at the restaurant. Unfortunately, my husband became very ill shortly after our arrival that afternoon and we had to cancel our reservation. We were so upset! The staff was so helpful to me in getting through a rough night and...
