Very warm welcome, staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy with view over rear of property to fields beyond. Lots of parking across the road. V Easy drive to Oxford, Wantage and Vale of White Horse. Tariff very reasonable. Food was always hot and well prepared. Staff very good especially restaurant and cleaning staff. Would thouroughly reccommend... More

A warm welcome from a pleasant hotel. Lovely warm rooms with an excellent bed and superb linen. Room furniture tired and the odd cobweb. Bathroom toiletries were not overly generous but plenty of hot water and good sized bath. Meal in the pub restaurant was very good. I would particularly reccommend the indian part of the menu. Staff good .Enjoyable... More

We had a lovely lunch at the Dog House with my colleagues. The table was easy to book, and we pre-ordered food so we didn't need to wait long for them to arrive. I had beetroot risotto, and it was a treat! My colleague who ordered a steak was slightly disappointed as the seasonal veggies were simply steamed frozen vegetables,... More

We wanted to be close to Oxford without actually being in Oxford. This worked well for us. The hotel is in a quiet location in the country. The room was very comfortable as was the bed (we booked a double but were placed in a king). Even though it is part of a chain it has maintained its own unique... More

Went here for lunch today with my family. When we ordered our food, it all came up looking good - except for mine! As I wasn't hungry, I ordered the soup. It arrived in a small bowl, with a slice of bread that was dry on one side. The small bowl was less than half full! At £4.99 this was... More

We stayed for two nights at the Dog House Hotel B & B. What can I say....the rooms were comfortable and warm. Tea and coffee making in the room, plenty for at least two cups of tea and coffee each plus hot chocolate. We had fresh towels daily and small body wash and shampoo was provided. There was also a... Romantic weekend away for my partners 50th birthday. There is a definite 'wow' factor when you pull up outside which continues inside too. Even though it is part of a chain it's beautifully decorated and put together. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very pleasant with a lovely en-suite bathroom. The complimentary toiletries smelt lovely too! We had our evening... More

Could not fault this place for the food, drink, service or bedrooms. The manager John was great and really helpful, the staff working were always friendly and I couldn't ask for more. If passing we will definitely be in again.

We had nice food served well in a pleasant location. Good value with a nice quality wine and well cooked and presented food. The dining room was not busy but the service was efficient and friendly. Will go again. Good for big family meals.
