Think fawlty towers...the older staff members were unhelpful and quite rude on occassion. The family room on ground floor is right next to the toilets in the bar and absolutely stinks. Bring some ear plugs if you dont want to be woken at 4am by the trains that stop at the station

The Railway Inn is next to a Railway Line which would be expected surely. The reason for the smell was explained to your colleague and I offered to find another hotel and refund his money which he declined, so I would say it wasn't so bad.I am pleased you have decided not to return. Every other word a swear word and headboards pulled from the wall is also not helpful and a complete disregard of the other guest, locals and my property which could be classed as criminal damage. Shame the going out of the way to make a roast dinner for you doesn't have any effect on you. Kind regards Pauline

I`m pretty much sure they did have Wi fi & it was free, we was not there for much of the day but a lovely family run place. Just ask when you book in, they are all friendly. Enjoy your stay. Hope it helps.

"All rooms involve several staircases."
"Rooms 8-10 are at the back so the noise from the trains won't be quite as bad."
"Higher floors have steep stairs, some rooms have much easier access, ask the owners about easy access rooms."
"Express & Freight Trains roar through the station yards away but do not stop"
"Light sleepers might request a room away from the trains. Not easy as the station is next door. Didn't bother me, I'm a bit deaf anyway."
