We have 3 boys: 3, 8, 11 years. They had a lovely time! They want to come back for even longer time next year. As a parent, it is nice that people doesn't complaine about noise when the kids are playing or crying. The near by lake is great for swimming or SUB.

It was altogetter very nice. Nice people, good surroundings and always clean toilets. The kitchen was clean, but you must have your own pots of pans with yourself. The pool was very nice, clean, and the slide was funny

A lot of noise at night, maybe due to the "Single Camping"-concept: A big group of people where talking, laughing, shouting until 0.30 in the morning when somebody from a far where yelling: "You guys shut up now!" Pool area does not seem clean: Everybody walks in wearing outdoor shoes and the showers for washing before swimming are very poor. The rest of the camp site is very clean, though. Desinfectants availble in all toilet- and kitchenfacilities, free of use. We, and a few other guests, found the 2-hour midday "Siesta", where reception and shop is closed, inconvenient.

Hi Lisbeth I am so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay as much as you should have. I would have loved to talk to you about your worries about the pool area and in particular the noise from the SingleCamp area. If you ever give us a second chance, just come tap me on the shoulder (when corona allows it), and I'll personally guarantee, that your stay will be satisfactory!

The camping is cozy and friendly. Tents are almost as comfortable as an average hotel room. Beautiful nature all around. There is a nice small village nearby with a great grocery store in some 5 minutes by foot. I would recommend this place to everyone. The only problem I found is that there’s no late check in. If you arrive after 9 pm chances are that the reception would be closed. But if you are lucky enough you might still find a staff membre who would show you your tent :)

A five night family stay camping in the Jutland region. The site is situated in what I would describe as a shallow valley in a nice area of Denmark. It is ideally situated for walking, cycling and has several lakes nearby. It is accessed off the main road in the village of Bryrup. The site is laid out with a level camping area split into various sections, with a tiered section on the left which has three levels affording a view to the other side of the valley. The other strong point is it is about 35 mins from both Legoland and Lalandia (Aquapark) and around 40 mins from Århus. A couple of points we felt didn't meet our expectations as seasoned campers across Europe, the description 'Aqua Campng' conjures up expectations of a pool complex. In reality it was rather small pool in comparison to other European sites say in France or The Netherlands. Good use had been made of the space with small sunlounger terrace and some slides. However, there were no changing rooms or lockers, so either change in the WC opposite or come in your swimwear and keep an eye on vehicle keys/belongings. As such it was too busy at our first attempt so we returned later. I noticed that adjacent to the pool were a couple of camping pitches. This area would be prime estate to be given over to extend the pool facilities increasing the area and providing a more accurate description of 'aqua camping'. The site doesn't have a bar, restaurant or snack bar. Campers took advantage of a pizzeria just up the main street in Bryrup (walkable). The site offers a covered terrace with cooking rings and dedicated BBQ area if you fancy cooking away from your tent in a communal setting. There is a small offering of camping essentials in reception but not what would be described as a shop with a wider range of food stuffs. However, there is a supermarket just up the road on the right. The site offers a playground area for children in the centre of the ground level area with a small football pitch to the rear. We booked a Superpitch at 130m2. There was enough room for our equipment, campervan, awning and teepee, however it only had electric. A tap or shared tap / drainage would have been expected for swilling pots or cleaning hands whilst cooking as with other premium pitches at other sites. Instead one tap was situated at the end of the camping section. The toilets and showers were of a modern high standard and clean. However all amenities were based around the reception area. If you were situated at the other side of the site and particularly the third tier, you have a fair walk. The site would benefit from a small wc/shower/ washing up block at the other side by giving up one or two pitches. The entrance barrier and showers are operated by a card system a bit like contactless payment via a sensor. Be aware though that each time you present the card in the shower you get charged. Each 'presentation' gives you two minutes of water. I was unaware and charged on departure. A five night stay came to around £280 plus cost for showers so not exactly cheap in comparison to elsewhere in Europe, however Denmark is more expensive generally than neighbouring Germany and further south. Having served for thirty years in the emergency services, one thing I did notice without sounding like a fire inspector, was the relatively small amount of fire extinguishers across the site. There were less than half a dozen split across the entire area, so not exactly close to each other in the event of an emergency. Ideally each camping section should have had it's own extinguisher, particularly in light of the hot temperatures across Europe at present, BBQs were banned by the site though. The extinguishers themselves were housed in an organge box screwed to a post. They were not immediately obvious from a distance and would benefit from some conspicuous signage as at other sites. All in all the site served a purpose for a few days before returning to Germany and The Netherlands, however as experienced travellers we felt there was untapped potential to be realised here.

Hi My wife, Sidse, and I just took over as hosts and owners of Bryrup Camping, and I just had to comment your very thorough review of the site. Thank you for writing in such detail with suggestions for improvement. Much of it goes directly into the idea book. As soon as the world is more "normal", we would love to host you once again, if your route brings you to our area. We have thus far only made small changes here and there, but we in no way lack ambitions :) Greetings from Bryrup Camping!

Rude staff, pay extra for hot shower, microwave, etc. Free wi-fi is NOT free there. NOT worth it. Silkenborg nearby is nice city. 50-rock evening ws good. High prices overall. Pool area ok. Quite crowded alltough.

In the Danish lakes Bryrup Camping is surrounded by lakes and conifers and is a perfect base for outdoors activities if the weather is good. The site is well landscaped and I would recommend the terraces on the west (?) side that overlook the site. The facilities are superb, perhaps the best we've enjoyed anywhere with a warm shower block that enjoys underfloor heating which makes a real difference. The swimming pool is outdoors but heated to 25 degrees so comfortable even when the weather isn't great. A couple of slides for the kids too. As with other Danish sites you get a kind of credit card which you use to pay for showers, washing clothes etc. As a family of 5 all extras cost us £10 per day. The village of Bryrup is just outside the site and offers a supermarket and take away pizza within walking distance. The two caveats I would have is that out of season even at the end of the August the site is a ghost town during the week with maybe 10% occupancy. You lose that sociable holiday atmosphere. The other caveat is that when the weather is bad there is little to do. Silkeborg is a nice town 30 mins drive away. It's reasonably convenient for Legoland too which is a great day out for kids and is 40 mins away. We didn't find anywhere else to recommend. In summary go in high season and during good weather. You will love it.

We were here due to a family reunion, and looked forward to spend a weekend with our family, om what seemed to be a nice place - i have never tryid Danish camping cabins before, and can only compare with Italy and France. We booked a "luxury" cabin and it was ok, nothing luxurious thou, and especially the bathroom looked very wormed, there was a hanger for clothes, there we so rusty, that we decided to use chairs instead for our towels. The "waterpark" was a small pool with 3 slides. The kids bathing facility however was very good. I don't know how it is normally, but in the place EVERYTHING cost extra money, and it gave a overall super cheap feel. The service was there, but I didnt feel welcome, and when we left the cabins we forgot our jackets. When I asked if I could transfer money, so they could send them. They would only do it, of I send a envelope with stamps! I have never in my life tryid that before. In general a flat experience they prob. only was good, because our family was there to.
