On the 16th- 18th Nov 2021 I had booked a stay at your establishment in room 20 which was advertised as a Superior Double room. During this stay the room proved not to be of satisfactory standard and there was other issues as well of which I’ll briefly describe. Checked in around 7pm, no issues and went straight to our room to freshen up after having a long journey. When my wife went for a shower she was unable to close the shower room door as the door is ill fitted. Alright not a major problem. After her shower she stated that the towels seemed dusty and we thought not a lot about it. ( later discovered the dust was from the towel rail they had been paced on). The following morning after breakfast I enquired at the reception had we been booked into the correct room as it did not resemble what was shown on your own website. The following statement is taken from your own website, The Superior Double Our deluxe rooms all have king size beds and offer comfortable seating areas. You will find in room amenities to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. Some of the rooms in this category have feature views across the countryside. The reply I received from your reception was that the website needs to be updated. Upon returning to the hotel later in the evening my wife went to get a shower and noticed that the towels we had left on the floor/ shower tray next to the bin had been folded back up neatly and paced on the shelf at the end of the shower tray. Theses towels were dirty and still wet. After contacting reception and explaining the problem replacement towels had to be delivered to the room. So decided next to enquire about the complementary drinks as was going to just let this pass but after what has already been mentioned decided to raise this issue. At least an apology was made and complementary drinks were brought to the room as requested. Next morning when my wife was having a shower her hand brushed against the shower wall and noticed dirt on her hand from the wall. This was mentioned to myself, so I took a clean towel and wiped the wall and videoed it. The result is far from pleasing. Conclusion, the staff I dealt with were all friendly and resolved any issues they could. Breakfast excellent. As for the cleanliness of the room, you tell me. As for the room been dated, would have been no problem if it had been clean. Other points of note, floor tile next to shower tray needs repair as loose, one next to that is damaged, shower room door does not close properly and lock is damaged, dirt between shower glass panel and sink at floor level is clear to see and there is no excuse for that not been cleaned. I am sending yourself this email and looking forward to your reply. Also pleased find attached a short video clip taken of when I used the clean towel and wiped the shower wall. Thank you for your time and look forward to your reply. This is a copy of an email which I forwarded to the hotel and to this date have not had a reply and an apology from them, which says to me that they just don't care care. a video was sent to the hotel showing the dirt that came off the shower wall, to be frank, disgusting. Also have other photographs showing how dirty the bathroom was. Conclusion, sorry to say due to the room been that dirty I would not recommend the hotel to anyone.

I booked the room through booking.com last minute and rang ahead to ask if there would be any food available for myself after a long drive , a gentleman answered the phone and was very helpful and said he would have a menu waiting for my arrival (around 8pm) when I arrived at the hotel I got myself checked in and then (adam) I think he was the supervisor on shift that evening who had also checked me in took me through to the bar where I was greeted by a very nice open fire and a very polite young lady behind the bar (Jodie) who recommended a very nice ale Timothy Taylor’s landlord which went down a treat I must say also I must add that the location that the hotel is in was very convenient to break up my long drive to John o groats , overall the staff and the service , food we’re fantastic I will be returning hopefully with family next time thank you for a very pleasant stay

We stayed at the Morritt to celebrate our wedding anniversary after getting married at the same venue many years ago. The first thing to mention is the friendly bar manager Andy, who was a total gent, good company and made us feel really welcome. He went over and above getting us some bubbly, when he found out why we were staying. The food was excellent, we both had brilliant evening meals and first rate breakfasts. There are a few areas we would suggest improving for a deluxe room such as general cleanliness, the shower had mildew, dusty shelves and the kettle lead didn't reach the table from the plug socket and had to go on the floor. Finally the TV was a battle to get on and you need a special technique! Overall these are minor points and the venue, customer service of staff and quality of the food shone through.

We stayed for a one night family break & found the hotel to be lovely. Room was spotless & had plenty of toiletries & tea/coffee etc. Communal areas of hotel, bar, lounge, dining room etc are also charming & the location of the hotel is stunning. Unfortunately, dinner was a disaster. We had sirloin steak which was not cooked rare as requested & very tough. The chips accompanying the steak were also disgusting. Had obviously been pre-cooked, then refrigerated & left for several days before being used. I would even go so far as to say they were "off". We also asked whether we could have a cheese board instead of a dessert & were told "oh I think we used to do those but don't offer them any longer". What type of restaurant does not offer a cheese board as an alternative to a sweet ? Service at breakfast was a similar shambles. They had to offer table service as their usual buffet was unavailable due to an issue with the hot plates. The waitress got all of our orders wrong & when the food arrived it wasn't great. Poached eggs were like bullets & the bacon inedible. We also had to wait for a pot of coffee. The waiting staff seemed very young & inexperienced (cheap labour ?) & possibly could have done with some support from a more experienced member of staff. We would like to mention the gentleman who served us in the bar. He was very warm & friendly & unlike the other staff members we encountered ( including the surly receptionist) appeared to know what he was doing. To summarise; beautiful hotel but staff require more training & food needs to improve.
