The week before the November lockdown I stayed over at Guy's for one night along with my brother and his wife. The accommodation canalside was good, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed traditional English meals in Old Nell's on the evening of our arrival and then an excellent "Full English" in Guy's the following morning. Throughout our stay the staff were courteous, efficient and above all welcoming and friendly. Covid guidelines and social distancing were observed at all times and we felt as safe as possible under the circumstances. We hope to return in happier times.
Just had two nights, and as a regular it’s always good, staff very pleasant and always happy to help, during these difficult times they are on the all with all the COVID measures in place. Sad to see then have to lock down again after spending so much effort into being compliant.
Disappointed with our stay. Room certainly needs updating. Hair found on bed pillows, pillows were so flat, dust on the lampshade, mirror filthy, spa bath had not been cleaned properly. Spa bath was not made for two... The food in the tavern was poor. Breakfast was good. All in all, we wouldn't stay here again.
Been coming here for years but won't rush back unless someone gets a grip of this place again. Ate in bar restaurant and the staff were awful no management guidance. After we had complain twice for our 35min garlic bread starter the main came out cold, obviously sat there a while whilst the sorted the bread out. They staff have no manners what so ever, some of them were trying their best but others telling us to " pass me ya glass" I found very rude. He probably found me rude when I told him to say please! That was his second correction. But icing on cake was when I was told they had stopped using a local supplier because of prices but increased there own baked/made desserts which were not a patch on their old company by £2! Why not stick to what everyone prefers (your words) and stick the £2 on a piece of nice cake! Our monthly treat ruined, thanks but no thanks!…
Awful.. we were shoved in a over flow room while dinning at £90 a night in a very over priced room .. we were declined when asked if we could sitting in the bar area because the tables were booked for a party that wasn’t staying & they were heavily intoxicated on arrival. Police were called & we were told if we sit there and cause any trouble we’ll be asked to leave. This was my 1st visit and how disappointed. £90 a night to be left in a back room with door closed and what seemed to be a children’s party. We did complain in the morning but we was fobbed off . Very disappointed to say the least
