This is what anyone could describe as only cheap and cheerful. I stayed in the bungalow behind the Captains Last Resort, The Captains Last Resort is the old CI Mortuary and for those liking a bit of a ghostly haunting stay there. For those like me who like a decent nights sleep stay in the bungalow behind. Now it is... More

On arrival we found that the accommodation was not prepared. We had to track down the person responsible, who apparently wasn't aware we were booked in that day. Finally in that evening, but the fridge had not been wiped out, and the icebox was almost completely covered with ice. There was no space to hang clothes, and only one small bedside... More

Like the other reviews on this property as far as Christmas Island goes this is one of the better places to stay. It had all the basics you would require for a self-contained stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was air-conditioned with ceiling fans and the view of the sunset in the evening was simply breathtaking. Our only complaints... More

The accommodation is situated in the Settlement and though basic and compact, it was very clean and tidy inside (outside had a bit of junk piled up). The room is square with one corner partitioned off as a bathroom. Kitchen and all utensils were supplied, and the complimentary milk and bread on arrival was a thoughtful touch. The room is... More

stayed there for almost a week. They prepared almost everything that you need just like staying at home. Peaceful, a cottage by the sea. You can hear the sound of the wave at night. Close to the supermarket and the town centre. But don't eat at the restaurant near by called bosun. Food there were horrible.

We stayed here in November 2013. The owner had just completed an upgrade. Accommodation is extremely hard to find on Christmas Island and from what we saw this was one of the best available, so we were very lucky. It is not much bigger than a motel room but does have kitchen facilities (no oven though). The décor was nice... More

The Captains Last Resort is placed on a cliffside and is clean and comfortable self contained accommodaiton. Bathroom and kitchen facilities were clean and it was very affordable. Christmas Island is a quiet peaceful place to holiday and very safe. I would definately recommend this accommodation.
