We recently ended our trip to England with a three day stay at the Blackler Barton House. What a lovely spot in Devon. The inn is beautifully restored; the rooms are very handsome and comfortable; and Julie and Dennis are welcoming and congenial. If we lived in the UK, we would return there often!

A great place to stay. Julie and Dennis are great hosts and look after you well. The breakfasts are excellent and include a variety of fruit, mueslis and the full cooked with toast. Well worth its 5 star rating.

Julie and Dennis were the best host and hostess we have ever had. Breakfasts great too. Such a treat. Some wonderful wintry walking on Dartmoor in February. We will be back ... and will spread the word.

We stayed there again in December 2014 and it was as wonderful this time round as it was the first time. Julie and Dennis are the best hosts ever. The place is paradise on earth. The room is gorgeous and the standard of cleanliness and comfort exceed all expectations. We feel very welcomed. It's amazing how two people can be... More

Blackler Barton farmhouse is in a pretty situation and run by the lovely Julie and Dennis whose international lives is reflected in the original styling of the house. Fab people, fab food, dreamy beds, fab place. We really loved it.

This was a fantastic B&B in tip top condition. It definitely deserves its 5 star rating. We were treated most wonderfully and the owners made our weekend stay an absolute pleasure. We thoroughly enjoyed the very warm welcome we received on arrival, being called by name and being given a snack on arrival as I was feeling hungry. I just... More

We would like to "Thank", Julie and Dennis for the wonderful welcome. Not yet out of the car and Julie was there to greet us. Set in beautiful peaceful Devon countryside we highly recommend Blacker Barton House to everyone. After the breakfast they serve you don't need to eat until evening time .

If you're wondering don't hesitate. We had a wonderful few days enjoying the warm hospitality of Julie & Dennis. Beautiful home in a great location for discovering the delights of the South Devon coast and up into Dartmoor - our only complaint was that we didn't stay long enough. There's lots more to see so we will have to return... More

I stayed on my own whilst undertaking a cooking course at International Macro school nearby. Julie and Dennis are such wonderfully warm and thoughtful, kind hosts, both being open to chatting and respecting privacy too. I loved their breakfasts, and enjoyed breakfast chats with other guests as well as the hosts. Gorgeous house, great location, could not ask for more.

My wife and I stayed here for a night on a rare weekend end without the children (God bless Cup Camp!). I booked it after a quick search in the Ashburton area of Dartmoor and as it's quite a bit away from Ashburton it was pure luck I found it...but were glad we did. It was difficult to find as... “Ask if you need Wi-Fi as it's not available in all rooms. Also ask for a map as the postcode won't get you exactly there!”

“Our en suite room had a lovely view over the countryside. There was a profusion of different birds feeding on the bird table. Beds away from home can be a gamble- not here where there was a very comfortable King size double with Egyptian cotton sheets.”
