There are magical places for a tourist, and undoubtedly the Nes Gard is one of these. We spend 3 days there, and everything was perfect. The owner was very courteous to us and greeted us giving great information about the tourist attractions. The room is beautifully decorated, spacious and clean. The view from the room is exceptional: the fjord, the...

Our only regret about this hotel was that we only stayed there for a single night. We had a lovely, welcoming, and beautifully furnished room with a great view facing the Sognefjord. What really made Nes Gard stand out was the personal service we received throughout our brief stay which really gave the place a charm that is hard to...

Stay here if you are going to, or coming from Sognefjell mountain pass or (highway 55 tourist route). Views of Sognefjord from the hotel are special. The owner Asbjørn is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Close to Jostedalen Glacier National Park, and the Nigardsbreen glacier hike.

We booked a room with a kitchen, and we could not have been happier with the quality of the room. A beautiful view with private terrace overlooking the fjord and waterfall. We had booked full board, but did not realise that dinner was served at a specific time, 19:00. We had our 8 month old baby with us, so eating...

I have visited and stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on 2nd and 3rd of Sep. The following is my comments on this guest house: The guest house is located in remote area and far away from major city. The nearest town is Gaupne, where there is a small supermarket and gas station. The hotel is right next to...

The Nes Gard is one of the most wonderful hotels I've ever stayed in. The rooms themselves are simple, although very clean, comfortable, and well appointed, but the location, the staff, and the homeyness of the guest house make it an exceptional place to stay. We stayed for 3 nights with 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 3 and 5),...

Charming B&B with great view of the fjord and waterfall. Lots of sheep by the water in next door farm. There is a road right by the B&B so if you are a light sleeper then you might want to bring some earplugs although at night time the traffic is not very much. The room we stayed in was a...
