Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our stay was set against the background of Covid 19 precautions. There was plenty of opportunities to hand sanitise, a traffic light system on the loos, screens up etc. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff. The rooms are in extensions off of the main building, ours was an upstairs room which was large, clean and comfortable. It also had a large en-suite toilet/shower room. Our room was upstairs, so if stairs are a problem for you I would recommend requesting a ground floor room.
We hadn't intended to but the food and service was so good we dined there all three nights of our stay. Booking a table was never a problem and the menu has a wide selection of meals. We enjoyed all of the food we tasted. If you are going for the rack of ribs, go for the half, I tried the full and unless you haven't eaten for quite a while it was too much. The staff were friendly and helpful, and all social distancing precautions were in place. Our room included breakfast and this establishment has a nice wide range of breakfasts available. All high quality and delicious.

The White Horse Inn is in a great position for visiting Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. The Inn is wonderfully run with very friendly and efficient staff. The accommodation is comfortable with most amenities that make a nice stay, plus the cleanliness -especially about corona virus - is extremely thorough with sanatising stations everywhere. The breakfast variety is vast and can be designed to your wishes. Evening meals are also very nice (must try the steak and ale pie) if can manage it.
We have been before and certainly will go again.

Me and my daughter had a late lunch in the afternoon eating in the car park where you can look at the garden as there is a back place to park away from the main road. Ordered 15 - 20 minutes before arriving as local to the area, food was piping hot and drinks were cold. We sat and ate it in the car park, staff knew this beforehand so the caps were taken off the soft drink glass bottles, napkins, wooden knife and fork and tomato sauce were given to us to have with our meal and served in boxes so easy to eat.
I had the hotdog, luckily the other half was wrapped up as I could only eat one half and my daughter had the 8oz burger so she struggled with the chips but her meal also came with homemade coleslaw which was very nice.
Double or triple cooked homemade chips they were hot. fresh and large.
Would of been good to offer salt sachet for the chips and wet wipe for after the meal as our hands were quite sticky picking up the burger bap, hot dog.
We saw the bin lid was open in the car park so put our rubbish in there it came in a brown bag anyway so it was easily disposable, this seemed the norm as other brown bags in there.
So definitely would go again, just needed some salt/pepper sachets, wet wipes for hands and perhaps more salad or fresh veg / meal option as a lot of the takeaway options were quite large, heavy and greasy - perhaps a ploughmans option or quiche with salad or filled baguette with coleslaw, chips, crisps for a lighter option, smaller adult appetite, especially for lunchtime option or if lockdown happens again when it is the summer months.
We had an excellent experience overall from telephone contact to face contact at the door and payment receipt in the bag, so please keep up the good work and high standard of food.

Thanks for the 5 stars!! We hope to see you again soon either for a take away or dine in experience. We have salt and pepper sachets and napkins that we can pop in the bag, although we don’t do this as standard so please ask upon ordering.

Went here for an 80th birthday celebration with close family. Excellent food, well presented and the service was first class. Between us, we sampled the belly pork, steak and ale pie, liver and bacon, venison meatballs, red mullet, roast duck and steaks and everything was equally deliciou, as evidenced by the clean plates!

The choice of accompaniments was also varied and very tasty and the desserts were equally as appealing. Although we didn't stay on this occasion, I like the look of their Sunday night deals and we'll certainly be going back for more. No surprise then that I thoroughly recommend The White Horse.

We have had several takeaways from here over the past few weeks, covering much of the menu. The food is as good as when we eat in the restaurant and the service is excellent and well organised. The meal comes in recyclable packaging too. Thanks Annie and Shane and we hope you keep the takeaway service when we eventually get back to "normal".

During the lockdown we have used the take out service on many occasions. Even when the lockdown relaxed the second time we used the take out serviice. We also appreciate that all of the container used for the take away were easily recycled. Well done Shane and Anne. We can't wait for you to be fully opened again.

This is a great pub with very comfortable chalet bedrooms that you can park outside so it saves having to traipse your luggage halfway round a sprawling hotel which is what usually happens to me.

The pub itself is light and airy and the staff were superb. The haggis Scotch egg was a great starter and the Blythburgh sausage hotdog and homemade chips were equally tasty.

Had a great night's sleep and haddock with scrambled egg for breakfast, which again was magnificent.

We had a two night stay in one of the shepherds huts , we stayed in Cedar. The huts are lovely with a fridge, kettle and a small stove that we cooked jacket potato in , may be a toaster and microwave would be be a nice addition . The huts were clean and very warm , we used the Japanese wood fired soak tub , easy to light the fire and keep it going ,ended up getting very hot , totally enjoyed it , the privacy is perfect , all done with a lot of thought and to height specifications was lovely to sit in the evening with a drink around the fire pit , an extra bounce breakfast in the pub was included in the stay extremely good breakfast , we eat in the pub on our first night good food at a fair price . A great week had .

Just enjoyed a delicious take away at home from these guys. I had the chicken & bacon burger and my partner had the 8oz king burger, both were excellent and still warm when we got them home 10mins down the road. Simple to order and pay over the phone, call when you arrive in the car park at your allotted time, someone will come out and put your order on a bench. Simples.
Glad to help support local businesses in this tricky time.

We had a ok evening but could have been better and the food was fantastic as always . The service was excellent always friendly and professional and the staff work very hard here. BUT we were very disappointed with how the music and dance floor were arranged. We were led to believe from several members of staff on the night and beforehand that the food area would be cleared away and then the area would be for dancing . Not so, they then had tables and chairs placed on that area not one was dancing
just sitting and talking and there were people standing about so the area for dancing was very very small. There was several children racing about , running in between people dancing , not that I dislike children at all, I have grandkids myself but there is a time and place for such things and this was very late into the evening too. We spoke to other ladies sitting around and they thought the same bout the dance floor and the children. The music was just a lot of nonsense at times , songs we had never heard of. Just thought that they could have been a bit more thoughtful. We would have paid a bit more money and had a DJ for the evening so requests could have been made . Will we come back again for news year eve..?? Sadly not.,!!!

I'm sorry we don't allow dogs inside. We do however welcome well behaved dogs out side. The Four Horse Shoes down the road is dog friendly.
