My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in the hope of seeing the northern lights. The position of the lodge is really lovely, about a 40 minute drive from Alta and situated amongst hills and forest. The lodge arranged a pick-up from the airport so we didn't have to worry about that although there was some confusion when...

We stayed at Lodge for three nights (31st December-3rd January) and this was by far the most incredible experience in my life and my two children’s. This place is something very special with the most beautiful scenery one could ever image. We were picked up from the Scandic Hotel in Alta by Michael, who I presume is the owner. We...

Firstly the location is pretty special. Out in the woodland it feels very isolated and tranquil. The rooms are traditional and cozy. Our room had a pit toilet, which was acceptable for us, given the rural location and there was no smell at all to worry about. Where it fell short was down to the level of service, particularly when...

After our stay earlier this month, my mum and I would be happy to recommend a stay at Ongajok. As other reviews have mentioned, Ongajok is incredibly rural - it's lovely but just don't expect any amenities to be within walking distance! However, its an ideal place to look for the northern lights and enjoy some quiet. Our room was...

My girlfriend (now fiance since the trip) and I arrived at Alta airport to be met by Michael, the very charming Irish/German gentlemen who runs the mountain lodge. After picking up a few more stragglers we were quickly brought to the lodge and shown our rooms. The room was very cosy and warm and was exactly as described. Dinner was...

And I don't mean in bad way. Place was really nice and beautiful. We travelled with dogs and they were welcomed, we even got the last room from the building so it was private and easy to let the dogs out. Road to this place was really small (last 4 km), for us that was a bit surprice, but you...

Magical decoration, but overpriced and reception person who I'm guessing was also an owner was a too hmm .. snoopy, should give someone else reception job to charge guests for service as I felt like I was a cashpoint... Apart from that helpful and polite, because business requires that. Also I felt unwelcome that I choose service of dog sliding...

Loved the setting and the accommodation. An afternoon highlight was Melissa's incredible cakes and biscuits that she whipped up for everyone. Talented girl who seemed to be always working. If you are visiting in Winter pay the extra and get a shower. Also ask that your room doesn't have a pit toilet as some of them do. The honeymoon suite...

This is such a quaint, pretty place, it really does look like the pictures. This is in the middle of nowhere which we loved, but don't think you are going to nip to the shop etc. Michael is an excellent manager it is clear that he is turning this place into something special, I just hope he can get a...

The remoteness of the lodge definitely adds to the charm, although a few less bumps in the road would have been appreciated. Cozy accommodation with helpful personnel. Northern lights from the platform is great. Food is very much in style of the rest of the lodge. Worth a stay if you are in the area.
