We stayed at Gruline Home Farm Courtyard Cottage - a self-contained cottage within the farm site. Sharon and Stuart were wonderful hosts and even ended up giving us some delicious–and enormous–duck eggs to take home with us. They were not taking B&B guests in summer 2020 so we were the only guests on site. The cottage itself is lovely and well-equipped. Like another reviewer, we pre-ordered some food from the Lochbuie Larder, which was delivered to our fridge before we arrived! The cottage is well-located for exploring Mull, but make sure to budget extra time for driving as google is not at all accurate on the single track roads. For getting to the cottage the ferry into Fishnish is very convenient and avoids possible issues with the Craignure/Oban ferry being sold out. We very much hope to stay at Gruline Home Farm again soon!…
We stayed a week in the Courtyard Cottage. We don't usually self-cater, but as we had a full week on Mull, we thought the extra space would be welcome. This little two storey Cottage is perfect in every way. A huge bedroom and sparkling clean Bathroom with a high powered Hot Shower, is downstairs. Upstairs is the Living area, the Kitchen was very well equipped and the adjoining Lounge very warm and comfortable, a washing machine also came in handy. The whole place was just so cosy and homey. We couldn't be bothered too much with cooking, so we pre-ordered all our delicious Dinner meals from 'Lochbuie Larder" (reviewed separately), what a treat that was. Salen village is a several minute drive away, the little Supermarket is well stocked and also sells alcohol, so we were set. I don't believe we could have chosen a better way to enjoy the magnificent Isle of Mull. Oh, and the Garden is full of Birds and has a terrific view to the nearby mountains.…
We have just returned from a holiday in Scotland. Two of the nights we stayed at Gruline Farm. What a fantastic B&B, Sharon and Stuart are so friendly and can't do enough for you. The house is immaculate, the bed was so comfy, fantastic view from our bedroom. The breakfast was delicious. Sharon and Stuart even let us use the conservatory to eat the food we had bought for our evening meal, Stuart brought us crockery, glasses and everything we needed. They are both so kind and full of knowledge on places to go. We would definitely recommend their place.
Just returned from a 3 night stay on Mull, wonderful place to stay and very central. Breakfast was delicious and everywhere was exceptionally clean and tidy, just how we like it, thank you for making our stay enjoyable, we will be back
We stayed at Courtyard Cottage for a week recently and would 100% recommend. Very clean and high standard throughout, very comfortable bed and has everything you could possibly need. The owners, in the B and B next door, were really friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. My hubby needed to have oxygen equipment delivered for the holiday following an unexpected illness and Sharon and Stuart were soooo kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble! It is in a beautiful location with lovely views from the garden and super walks nearby, and close to the most amazing coastal scenery you could ever wish for. The drive from the cottage along the southern shores of Loch Na Keal is breath taking! Wildlife is plentiful with Fallow deer just along the drive and we also spotted Golden Eagles and Otters nearby. Gruline is very central to Mull so it was ideal for visiting all parts of the Island. It is also close to Ulva Ferry for some amazing boat trips, not to be missed! Would not hesitate to book again!…
Our recent 5 night stay is the second time we have stayed at Gruline Home Farm, and we both agree that it continues to be the No.1 bed and breakfast we have stayed in on our (extensive) travels in Scotland. Sharon and Stuart have created THE perfect B&B with their wonderful house, idyllic location, and first class hospitality. Decor, comfort, cleanliness, and breakfast are all of the absolute highest standard. Thoroughly recommended!
A wonderful self catering cottage! Warm, clean and comfortable it has everything you need, it is in a perfect position for exploring the beautiful Isle of Mull. A lovely gift of shortbread and muffins were left for us, we will be back! As you can see by my husband's photos he loved it too.
We spent three nights at Gruline Home Farm as our last stop on a trip to Skye and Mull. It was a great location to get to the rest of Mull from (although be warned the roads to get there are single track). Sharon and Stuart are so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Breakfast in the morning is delicious and there’s a big lounge space that guests are welcome to use too. We would highly recommend staying here.
Stayed here for three nights in June and certainly was not disappointed. Stuart and Sharon could not do enough for us from coffee and short bread on arrival to crystal glasses for the gin LoL Gruline Home Farm has a beautiful tranquil setting with amazing views over the mountains, everything about is exceptional will definitely be back. Stuart and Sharon go that extra mile to make your holiday on Mull a memorable one. Thanks again Ann and Jan
We were given a lovely welcome from Sharon followed by a cup of tea and shortbread seried in the sun drenched conservatory with stunning views of the nearby hills. Our room which also had the views of the hills was a good size with a large comfortable bed and everything we might need. The bathroom is decent size and very clean. Gruline Home Farm is ideally situated in the centre of Mull and not far from the ferry at Craignure. It is also close to the Ulva ferry for taking trips to Staffa and other islands. During our three night stay we did a trip to Staffa and then drove north to Tobermory. The next day we drove south to Iona. Sharon and Stuart were very helpful in planning our visit and also suggesting places to eat. Each day we enjoyed a cooked breakfast with a good choice of cereals, yoghurt etc. We particularly liked having breakfast at a communal table where we were able to meet other guests and enjoy some lively conversation and share travel stories. Gruline Home Farm is a great B&B and would thoroughly recommend it.…
