Trouble-free communication before and upon the arrival. The exterior and lobby look very good as well as the restaurant. The corridors, however, haven't been refurbished for quite a long time (May 2019 - yes, the review isn't well-timed...). The room was homely and clean. I liked to spend a few nights there - comfortable bed, TV with a wide selection of programmes, table, chairs and a well-maintained bathroom. Breakfasts were extraordinary - you couldn't ask for more. And you have to try their pancakes:) During the day, you may have tea or coffee for free in the lobby. Yes, it may be the only hotel in the small university town but I would choose it even if there were a number of others.
The accommodation consisted of a very spacious apartment with two bedrooms, kitchen and living room. In addition, we had an outdoor terrace for private use. A marvel! The breakfast buffet, without being extraordinary, offered enough variety dishes. Note the wide range of fruit. It has an outdoor pool, which because of the weather we did not decide to try, but it was really tempting. We deal only with the reception staff who at all times behaved with us with great kindness and professionalism and solved all our requests to complete satisfaction.
No Air condition, noise from outside pool and restaurant, the old windows are no help. Poor breakfast, no rolls and croissants. Friendly staff 👍 and easy check-in. The room was renovated and looked modern.
I was attending a rather large conference in the small village of Bø, so accomodation was an issue, as this, to my knowledge, is the only hotel. I have stayed here before, but that was almost ten years ago. Staff was great. Breakfast had most of what I needed. I slept well, and my room had a desk for work purposes. The small bar in the lobby was also ok. Parts of the hotel is very dated, though, especially the corridors and halls leading to the rooms were worn. Some upgrading would do, but apparently they are in the process of doing it. As for now, it deserves the three stars and not much more.
Staid for 1 night in november 2018. The hotel is not high class but the food and staff is very good. Rooms are ok but simple standard. Refurbishment was going on. Nice walks can be done in the area nearby and the hotel is sited nearby "Gullbring" which has cinema, swimmingpool and many other facilities.
